Overview

Evoto spans shooting, culling, retouching, and delivery, with separate photo, instant-workflow, and video products. The photo editor brings portrait retouching, background and color adjustments, RAW processing, and batch work together. Watched folders and fully automated batch processing suit repeatable jobs; bulk renaming and resizing handle routine file management. Exports include JPG, TIFF, PNG, and the original format.

Per-face retouching can smooth skin and remove blemishes while preserving natural texture, according to Evoto. Lightroom Classic users can send individual images to Evoto and import or export catalogs, making it a more natural fit for existing Lightroom workflows than a standalone editor.

Basic color adjustments, cropping, and file management are always free. Most other features use one credit per exported image, while some advanced generative tools may use more; Evoto displays the cost before use. Most features upload images to Evoto’s cloud for analysis and processing, with images deleted immediately afterward. Some features store data with prior consent. Evoto says customer images are not used to train AI without explicit consent and identifies ISO/IEC 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 among its compliance certifications and attestations.

Key features

Portrait retouching: Per-face skin smoothing and blemish removal aimed at retaining natural texture make Evoto relevant to portrait jobs, though credit costs can accumulate across large export batches.
Batch workflow: Watched folders, fully automated batch processing, RAW support, and bulk resizing and renaming are useful for photographers repeating the same production steps. They are less compelling for occasional edits that do not need workflow automation.
Connected work: Lightroom Classic catalog import and export, plus sending individual images to Evoto, help fit editing into an established catalog workflow.
Free basics and credits: Free cropping, basic color adjustments, and file management provide a way to handle simple jobs without credits. More advanced work is metered by exported image, so estimate volume and feature use before committing.

Pricing

Evoto is freemium, with a one-time seven-day trial that includes 50 credits for trying full features. Annual plans bundle credits and device allowances; the lower tiers suit lighter workloads, while larger credit pools cost more and raise the number of supported devices.

Plan	Annual price	Credits and devices	Best fit
Starter	89.00 USD per year	800 credits · 2 devices	Lower-volume individual use
Basic	149.00 USD per year	1,600 credits · 3 devices	More regular editing across a few devices
Basic Plus	269.00 USD per year	3,600 credits · 4 devices	Growing batch workloads
Standard	579.00 USD per year	9,000 credits · 5 devices	High-volume work
Standard Plus	1339.00 USD per year	24,000 credits · 6 devices	Very large credit needs

Other annual listings include Starter Plan-800 at 80.00 USD per year, Basic Plan-1600 at 134.00 USD per year, Basic Plus Plan-3600 at 242.00 USD per year, Standard Plan-9000 at 521.00 USD per year, and Standard Plus Plan-24000 at 1205.00 USD per year. Each has the same credit and device allowance as its correspondingly sized plan above, with credits rolling over with the subscription and Asset Hub Membership included. Those rollover and membership terms distinguish these listings from the standard annual plans.

Pay-as-You-Go has custom pricing; purchased credits expire after two years. Enterprise plans also have custom pricing. The free basics avoid credit costs but do not replace paid credits for most feature exports. Before choosing a tier, match expected exports to credits: one credit covers most feature exports, but generative tools may cost more. Annual plans are billed annually, and the trial is limited to seven days and 50 credits.

Platforms

Evoto supports web, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. Desktop downloads support macOS 10.13 and above and Windows 7, 10, and 11; apps are listed for iOS, Android, and iPadOS.

Who it's for

Evoto describes its photo editor as intended for professional photographers, Evoto Instant for high-volume photographers, and Evoto Video for creators and photographers moving into video. The photo editor is the clearest fit for portrait and batch work, particularly when Lightroom Classic is already part of the process. Occasional editors who mainly need cropping or simple color adjustments can stay with the free basics; photographers who prefer local processing should consider that most features use Evoto’s cloud.

Pros and cons

Pro: Free basic adjustments, cropping, and file management let light users handle simple tasks without a paid plan.
Pro: Automated batches, watched folders, RAW support, and bulk file operations address repetitive production work rather than only single-image edits.
Pro: Lightroom Classic catalog workflows reduce friction for photographers already using that application.
Con: Credit use is tied to exported images for most features, and some generative tools cost extra credits, so high-volume work needs careful budgeting.
Con: Most features require cloud upload for processing, which may not suit workflows that avoid cloud handling.
Con: Annual plans have fixed credit and device allowances; the smallest listed tier covers 800 credits and two devices.

Verdict

Evoto AI is a strong candidate for professional portrait photographers and high-volume workflows that can make use of automated batches, Lightroom Classic connections, and AI retouching. Its free basics and clear per-export credit display help manage the entry point, but credit costs can rise with volume and most processing involves cloud uploads. Choose it when those workflow gains justify an annual credit plan; look elsewhere if local processing or predictable high-volume costs matter more.
