Overview

factoHR combines employee records, onboarding, time-off management, performance management, and time tracking. Connections to payroll, finance, hiring, learning, background-check, and single sign-on systems make it relevant to businesses coordinating work across those functions. Multiple entities and role-specific permissions can also help organizations manage separate business units and access needs.

The maker says the platform scales from 50 to more than 5,000 employees and is trusted by more than 4,000 businesses or customers. It states that it has ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and SOC 2 Type II credentials, and that browser-server communications use high-grade 256-key SSL encryption. Role-based access and secure employee records support access control, while data export is available on every plan.

Key features

Attendance and HR administration

Face recognition, selfie punch, geofencing, and location-tagged punches give teams several attendance options. That range can suit workplaces that need more than a basic time clock, though the separate pricing for some attendance tools means buyers should check which functions they need before comparing plan costs. Core HR workflows cover a substantial share of routine administration, from employee records and onboarding to time off and performance.

Mobile, integrations, and support

factoHR provides one HR experience across web and mobile through its app, which is useful for employees and managers who need access away from a desk. Its business integrations span several adjacent functions, including payroll and hiring, but the platform's breadth matters most to organizations that will use those connections. Support is available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

Pricing

The free plan costs ₹0.00 per free and supports up to 20 employees without requiring a credit card. It is a practical starting point for a small team, but the employee cap makes it unsuitable once the organization grows beyond that limit.

Core costs ₹125.00 per month, billed yearly, for up to 50 employees; each additional employee costs ₹89/month. Premium is ₹175.00 per month, billed yearly, for up to 50 employees, with additional employees at ₹109/month. Ultimate costs ₹225.00 per month, billed yearly, for the same base limit, with additional employees at ₹129/month. The higher listed tiers cost more per added employee, so growing teams should account for headcount when weighing them. The listed plan information does not distinguish their feature sets.

Several separately named plans are priced in USD: Fia by factoHR, Selfie Punch, and Timesheet each cost USD 0.5/Month, while Face Recognition costs USD 1/Month. Recruitment costs USD 75/Month per Recruiter. For Blue Collar and For Start-UP have custom pricing. Subscriptions can be paid quarterly or yearly; plans have no cancellation fee or lock-in period, but remaining annual-plan credit is not refunded after discontinuation. That makes the annual billing option less flexible for customers who expect to stop partway through a term.

Platforms

factoHR is available on web and mobile, with the maker describing the app as part of a unified HR experience. Data access and export are available regardless of plan, a useful practical safeguard for organizations changing tiers or preparing to move their records.

Who it's for

factoHR is a sensible candidate for small businesses that want to begin with a no-card free plan and for growing organizations that need employee administration alongside attendance options and integrations. Multiple entities and role-specific permissions may suit businesses with distinct teams or access requirements. It is less compelling for buyers who need predictable costs as headcount rises, want a clearly defined feature comparison among the paid tiers, or need the option to recover unused annual-plan credit.

Pros and cons

Pros: The free plan covers up to 20 employees without a credit card, giving small teams a low-commitment starting point.
Pros: Employee administration, time tracking, and several attendance methods sit alongside integrations with payroll and other business systems.
Pros: Data export is available on every plan, and the plans have no lock-in period or cancellation fee.
Cons: Paid base tiers cover up to 50 employees, after which per-employee charges apply and rise across the listed tiers.
Cons: Remaining annual-plan credit is not refunded after discontinuation, which reduces flexibility despite the lack of a cancellation fee.
Cons: The listed paid tiers do not provide feature distinctions, making it difficult to judge what the higher monthly cost adds.

Alternatives

For a free HR help-desk option with a larger stated employee allowance, consider LBi HR HelpDesk: its free plan covers up to 100 employees and two administrative users, has no expiration date, and it also offers a free trial. Superthread HR Service Delivery is another freemium choice, with a free plan limited to 200 cards, four boards, and two spaces; its free tier does not include the service desk portal.

Buyers considering other HR or workforce tools can compare Sunrise HRCM, which is paid and offers a free trial, or Infor Workforce Management, a paid option that supports web and several mobile and desktop platforms. Infor Learning Management System may suit buyers looking specifically at learning management; it is paid and offers a free trial.

Freshservice is a paid alternative with a free trial and a Starter plan at USD 19.00 per month, billed annually, covering knowledge management, task management, a support portal, and omnichannel support. Kissflow is another paid option, with a free trial and fixed annual agreements. For leave-focused needs, Pocket HRMS Leave Management offers a Standard plan at ₹2995.00 per month, billed annually, for 50 employees, with ₹60 per additional employee.

Verdict

Choose factoHR if you want core HR administration, varied attendance methods, and business-system integrations in one platform, with a free entry point for up to 20 employees. Its clearest drawback is the cost and commitment uncertainty as teams outgrow the free tier: paid plans charge for added employees, and unused annual-plan credit is not refunded. Buyers who prioritize a larger free allowance, a leave-specific product, or more transparent tier differences should compare alternatives before committing.
