Overview

WebAdMIT combines applicant tracking, application assessment, communications, and reporting in a system built for admissions work. Staff can follow applicants from recruitment through enrollment rather than treating review and decisions as disconnected tasks. Its clearest advantage is this admissions-specific workflow; institutions should weigh that against the cost and implementation work of fitting it to their systems.

Key features

Applicant management: A centralized database supports searching, filtering, sorting, and tracking progress. That gives admissions teams a common way to monitor a large applicant pool and spot where records stand.
Review and decisions: Staff can assign applications to reviewers and committees, examine supporting documents, comment, and score submissions. The review workflow suits programs with shared or multi-stage evaluation, rather than teams that only need a simple intake form.
Communications: Email templates, correspondence tracking, and automated notifications, reminders, and updates help teams manage applicant contact alongside application status.
Reporting: Reporting and data analysis tools help monitor application trends and assess recruitment strategies. These tools support operational review, though no particular reporting outputs or analytics capabilities are specified.
Data exchange: WebAdMIT is natively integrated with participating CAS data, and its API can transfer applicant data to institutional SIS or ERP systems, including Slate and Banner. Customized exports, bulk PDF downloads, reports, and scheduled SFTP delivery offer additional routes for moving data. This breadth is useful for institutions with established systems, but the right fit depends on their integration needs.
Enhanced review options: WebAdMIT Holistic adds rubric-based, mission-aligned review; WebAdMIT Predictive provides machine-learning likelihood-to-enroll scores. These tools are relevant to teams seeking those specific approaches, not requirements of the core workflow.

Pricing

The WebAdMIT plan is free, complimentary to programs participating in a Liaison Centralized Application Service (CAS). That eligibility restriction makes it a meaningful no-cost option for participating programs, not a generally available free tier. The free plan includes applicant communications, review and decision workflows, enrollment workflow, document collection, and SIS integration.

WebAdMIT is also a paid product with pricing on request, so programs outside the complimentary CAS group should expect custom pricing. SSO implementation carries a one-time fee and annual maintenance, an additional cost for institutions that want single sign-on. No seat or application quotas are stated for the plan.

Platforms

WebAdMIT is available on the web and through an API. It works in current Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge browsers; Internet Explorer is no longer supported. Smartphone and tablet access is possible through a compatible browser, but Liaison recommends a computer for optimal use, making mobile access better suited to checking in than to being the main work setup.

For identity management, WebAdMIT supports SAML 2.0 with Entra ID, Shibboleth, and Oracle Access Manager. Because implementation and maintenance are billable, SSO adds both setup and ongoing cost. WebAdMIT uses AWS, and its technical requirements set TLS 1.2 as the minimum secure connection standard.

Who it's for

WebAdMIT is a strong fit for admissions offices coordinating applicant records, committee assessment, communications, decisions, and enrollment in one process. Participating CAS programs have the clearest economic case because they can use the complimentary plan. Institutions that need to exchange applicant data with an SIS or ERP can also make use of the API and other export routes.

It is a less natural choice for a small program seeking only a basic application form, or for an institution unwilling to take on custom pricing and possible SSO charges. The mobile browser option does not remove the recommendation to use a computer for optimal work.

Pros and cons

Pro: Applicant tracking, review, communications, decisions, and enrollment are covered in one admissions workflow, reducing the need to split these tasks across separate tools.
Pro: CAS integration, API transfers, exports, and scheduled SFTP delivery provide several ways to connect applicant data to institutional systems.
Pro: The complimentary plan includes substantial admissions functions for programs participating in a Liaison CAS.
Con: The free plan is restricted to participating CAS programs, while other customers must request custom pricing.
Con: SSO adds a one-time implementation fee and annual maintenance, which may matter to institutions budgeting for identity integration.
Con: Although tablets and smartphones can access the service, a computer is recommended for optimal use.

Verdict

Choose WebAdMIT if your admissions office needs applicant tracking, structured review, communications, and data exchange in a single admissions workflow—especially if your program participates in a Liaison CAS and qualifies for the complimentary plan. Look elsewhere if you need broadly available free access or cannot justify custom pricing and potential SSO costs.
