Overview

OTG Networks vFax is a cloud fax service for businesses that still exchange faxes but want to work without fax machines. It is the strongest fit for organizations already using GoOTG, especially those handling regulated communications. Its clearest advantage is that GoOTG includes it at no extra charge.

Key features

Staff can send a fax from an email client by attaching a PDF and entering the fax number as the recipient; incoming faxes arrive as PDF attachments. That keeps faxing inside a familiar workflow, though the described email process is centered on PDFs. The browser portal adds drag-and-drop sending, fax history, and management of multiple numbers for teams that need a shared view of fax activity.

Customers can set up a dedicated local or toll-free number, or port an existing number. This makes vFax practical for a business moving away from physical fax hardware without changing the number its contacts already use. Delivery receipts record the timestamp, pages delivered, and recipient confirmation, giving staff a useful record of whether a fax reached its destination.

OTG says faxes are encrypted in transit and at rest, with role-based access controls and audit logs. It describes vFax as HIPAA compliant and cites 256-bit encryption, full audit logs, and SOC 2 readiness. These controls make the service relevant to healthcare and other sensitive workflows; organizations still need to assess how their own use fits their compliance obligations. Unlimited cloud storage avoids a stated storage ceiling.

vFax is available on Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, so it can support teams working across mobile and desktop devices. OTG's broader ecosystem includes Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Teams, Zoho CRM, Slack, WhatsApp API, Google Workspace, and Active Directory. Those integrations may help in a GoOTG environment, though the vFax workflow described here does not specify what each connection enables. OTG support hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM–8 PM EST, and Saturday, 10 AM–4 PM EST.

Pricing

The vFax plan is free and includes sending and receiving faxes with a dedicated local or toll-free number. The key condition is that vFax is included free on every GoOTG plan, so its value is clearest for existing or prospective GoOTG customers. No standalone vFax price is given.

GoOTG's Starter plan costs 15.00 USD per month, billed month-to-month, and includes unlimited calling, voicemail transcription, mobile and desktop apps, basic analytics, and email support. It is the lower-cost entry point for teams that also need GoOTG calling; the plan does not state advanced analytics, CRM integrations, call recording, or priority support.

Business costs 29.00 USD per month, billed month-to-month, and adds AI-powered call routing, advanced analytics, CRM integrations, call recording, and priority support. It suits teams that need those calling and support features alongside vFax, though the price is for a broader GoOTG package rather than a fax-only tier. Enterprise has custom pricing and includes a dedicated account manager, custom integrations, SLA guarantees, advanced security, and vFax. It is aimed at organizations that need tailored service commitments and integrations, with the tradeoff that the price requires a quote.

Platforms

vFax supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. Email sending and PDF delivery suit teams already working in inboxes, while the browser portal provides access to fax history and number management without dedicated fax hardware.

Who it's for

Healthcare, legal, finance and banking, and real estate are among the industries OTG identifies as relying on vFax. The combination of managed numbers, transmission receipts, encryption, access controls, and audit logs makes it a reasonable candidate for organizations that need to retain fax workflows while moving them online. It is less compelling for a buyer who only wants faxing and does not need GoOTG's calling plans or wider business communications features.

Pros and cons

Included with every GoOTG plan: vFax adds no stated fee for customers paying for GoOTG.
Multiple ways to manage faxing: Email and browser workflows, mobile apps, and number management support staff across devices.
Useful transmission records: Receipts capture delivery time, page count, and recipient confirmation.
Regulated-workflow controls: OTG describes encryption, role-based access, audit logs, and HIPAA compliance.
Fax-specific pricing is unclear: The free vFax plan is tied to GoOTG, while the priced options are broader calling plans.
Plan choice depends on other GoOTG needs: Starter and Business differ mainly in calling, analytics, integrations, recording, and support features, not stated fax limits.

Alternatives

Compare online fax services if you want to weigh a broader set of fax-focused options. GTC Cloud-Fax may suit buyers who prefer a web or API service with page-based packages, including a 30-page monthly option. Dropbox Fax (formerly HelloFax) is worth considering for web-based sending with a free allowance; its free plan is outbound-only, so inbound faxing requires a paid account. FAX.PLUS offers Android, iOS, and web access with a free 10-page allowance, making it a possible fit for light fax use; paid plans include a 30-day free period. InterFAX may fit organizations looking for prepaid faxing without monthly minimums or fees, and it offers a free trial. FaxTerra is an option for users who need a free monthly allowance for sending to the US and Canada. DialPhone Online Fax is another paid fax service with mobile, desktop, and web platform support. Browserfax may suit web-only users who want free pages that do not expire. ETHERFAX is an alternative for organizations seeking cloud fax services across API, web, desktop, Linux, or self-hosted environments.

Verdict

Choose OTG Networks vFax if your organization already uses GoOTG, needs managed fax numbers and reliable delivery records, and values the stated security controls. Its main selling point is inclusion with GoOTG plans; look elsewhere if you need a standalone fax service with clearly defined fax-only pricing and plan limits.
