Overview

Start from a blank prompt or bring a frame or component from Figma Design into Make. The result can be refined visually, adjusted in a built-in code editor, or reshaped with another prompt. That flexibility makes Make more useful for iterating on an interface than a tool limited to static wireframes, though its value depends on whether the included AI credits cover the work you expect to do.

Make can turn a prompt into an interactive prototype connected to real content or API data. Teams can share prototypes internally or publish them publicly, making it possible to review a flow with more realistic inputs before moving further. Prompts consume AI credits, and usage varies with the model, task complexity, and context volume, so a monthly credit allowance does not translate into a predictable number of iterations.

Key features

Prompt-based interface generation: Create wireframes, flows, dashboards, and apps from natural language. Clickable prototypes and sketch or image input support moving from a rough visual idea toward something reviewers can interact with.
Multiple editing routes: Make supports visual refinement, direct code edits, and further prompting. That accommodates different levels of technical involvement, but users who need precise control may still need to work in the code editor.
Data-connected prototypes: Connect a backend to use real content or API data, then refine and test the prototype. This is more useful for evaluating behavior than a purely static mockup.
Sharing and collaboration: Prototypes can be shared with a team or published publicly. Real-time collaboration and custom components support collaborative work, while ZIP is the stated export format.
Connectors and integrations: Organization and Enterprise members can use vetted partner MCP connectors for Notion, Asana, Linear, GitHub, and Atlassian. Organization members can also connect custom MCP servers, including private internal tools, subject to organization settings. These options are most relevant to teams that want Make connected to their working systems, rather than individuals seeking a standalone generator.
Security and support: Figma says it has SOC 2 Type 2 and SOC 3 reports, along with ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 27018:2019, and ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certifications. Product and account support requests go through Figma’s Support Hub.
Local code beta: The closed beta for using Make in a local codebase is Mac-only and requires the Figma Beta desktop app for Mac. That makes it a limited option for local-code workflows, not a general availability feature across platforms.

Pricing

Figma Make is freemium. The seat type determines both monthly price and AI-credit allowance, so compare the seat’s role and quota rather than treating the entry price as a universal cost. Credits are consumed per prompt, with usage varying by model, task complexity, and context volume.

Starter: Custom pricing; includes 150 AI credits per day and 500 per month. Its daily allowance may suit occasional exploration, but the monthly cap constrains sustained use.
Professional Full seat: 16.00 USD per month, billed Monthly, with 3,000 AI credits per month. This is the clearest fit for regular Make use when a full seat’s larger allowance is worth the cost.
Professional Dev seat: 12.00 USD per month, billed Monthly, with 500 AI credits per month. It costs less than a Full seat but offers a much smaller allowance.
Professional Collab seat: 3.00 USD per month, billed Monthly, with 500 AI credits per month. It is the lowest-cost paid Professional option, but the same smaller quota makes it a poor fit for frequent prompting.
Organization Full seat: 55.00 USD per month, billed annually, with 3,500 AI credits per month. It suits organizations that need a larger allowance and access to partner connectors; the annual billing term is a more substantial commitment than Professional’s monthly billing.
Organization Dev seat: 25.00 USD per month, billed annually, with 500 AI credits per month. It retains the Organization tier but not the Full seat’s higher credit allowance.
Organization Collab seat: 5.00 USD per month, billed annually, with 500 AI credits per month. It offers a lower-cost Organization seat, but is still limited to 500 monthly credits.
Enterprise Full seat: 90.00 USD per month, billed annually, with 4,250 AI credits per month. It has the largest stated allowance and is aimed at organizations that can justify the highest seat price.
Enterprise Dev seat: 35.00 USD per month, billed annually, with 500 AI credits per month. It costs less than Enterprise Full but has a substantially smaller quota.
Enterprise Collab seat: 5.00 USD per month, billed annually, with 500 AI credits per month. Its lower seat price comes with the same limited monthly credit allowance as the other Dev and Collab seats.

The paid entry point is 16 /user/mo, while lower-cost Dev and Collab seats are priced separately and include only 500 monthly credits. Buyers should estimate likely prompting frequency and account for seat type before choosing a plan.

Platforms

Figma Make is available on macOS and the web. The local-code closed beta is narrower: it requires the Figma Beta desktop app for Mac.

Who it's for

Make is a strong fit for designers and product teams that want to turn prompts or existing Figma Design work into interactive, data-connected prototypes, then refine and share them. It is less compelling for users who need a predictable amount of generation from each dollar, since credit use changes with the task and several lower-cost seats include just 500 credits per month. Teams that want the named partner connectors or custom MCP integrations should consider Organization or Enterprise access.

Pros and cons

Pro: Starts from either a prompt or existing Figma Design frames and components, giving Figma users a direct route from current design work to an interactive prototype.
Pro: Visual editing, code editing, and follow-up prompting offer different ways to refine the same generated work.
Pro: Real content and API data can be used in interactive prototypes, making them more suitable for behavior review than static output.
Con: Credit use varies by model, complexity, and context, so it is difficult to plan an exact number of prompt iterations from a monthly quota.
Con: Dev and Collab seats carry only 500 AI credits per month, which may not stretch far for repeated generation.
Con: Organization and Enterprise seats are billed annually, and Organization and Enterprise features may be more than an individual needs.
Con: Local-code use remains a Mac-only closed beta requiring Figma’s Beta desktop app.

Verdict

Choose Figma Make if you want to turn prompts or existing Figma Design components into prototypes that can connect to real data and be tested or shared. Its flexible refinement and collaboration options are compelling for interface teams, but variable credit use and the gap between Full and lower-cost seat allowances make the plan choice important. Look elsewhere if you need predictable generation volume at a low seat cost or a broadly available local-code workflow.
