Overview

Figured gives farm businesses and their advisers a shared financial view, with production activity alongside financial management. That makes it more relevant to farms planning and reviewing operations than to businesses seeking only a general-purpose accounting system. Every farm must connect to Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks Online, so farms using other accounting software cannot access the platform.

Key features

Farm Manager combines three-way forecasting, scenario modelling, variance reporting and agricultural financial reports. Operators and advisers can use that mix to compare financial plans with results and explore different scenarios. Production tracking covers livestock movements, crop and milk production, feed transactions and operating expenses, making the plan most compelling for farms that need operational records as part of financial oversight.

Reporting Studio supports customizable reports, and Auto Analyst can generate commentary from live report data. Farm Reporter is narrower: its Reporting Studio covers actuals only, so it does not provide the planning and forecasting scope of Farm Manager. Integrations with AgriWebb, Agworld, FarmIQ and Trev can bring in farm-management data; processor connections include Farm Source, Synlait, Open Country, Miraka and Westland. AI scanning is available for killsheets from AFFCO, Silver Fern Farms, ANZCO and Alliance. Figured also states that it offers an open API.

Security measures include required two-factor authentication and encryption for data in transit and at rest. Figured says it is SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3 compliant, with its application and data hosted on Google Cloud Platform in the United States. It also says it complies with New Zealand and Australian privacy laws and GDPR. Support is available through an online Help Center and in-app Customer Success chat.

Pricing

Figured is paid, with a free 30-day trial that allows users to work with live, changeable data, budgets, plans and reports without setup. There is no free plan. Pricing starts at $14.50/mo, but the plans differ substantially in scope:

Multi-Entity: Free. Consolidates multiple Figured files and includes group-wide reporting and bank and governance packs. This suits organizations managing multiple files, rather than a single farm seeking production tracking.
Financial Manager: 14.50 USD per month. For non-trading entities, with no production tracking; it is the lowest-cost paid option but not a farm operations package.
Farm Reporter: 40.00 USD per month. Includes 25 fields, with each additional 50 fields costing +$40/month. Reporting Studio is limited to actuals, making it a more constrained fit for farms that need reporting without Farm Manager’s planning scope.
Commercial Manager: 50.00 USD per month. Designed for non-farming clients and excludes production tracking.
Farm Manager (Single Farm Business): 90.00 USD per month. Includes 25 fields; each additional 50 fields costs +$90/month. This is the clearest fit for one farm needing production tracking and forecasting, though field growth can raise the bill.
Farm Manager (Multi-Farm): 90.00 USD per month per farm, plus $14.50/month per non-production entity. It supports multiple farming operations under one accounting file, with 25 fields included and +$90/month per additional 50 fields.

The field allowances and add-on charges matter for larger operations, while lower-priced plans give up production tracking or forecasting scope. The trial is a useful way to assess the live-data workflow before committing.

Who it's for

Figured is strongest for farms that want production records and financial forecasting in the same workflow, particularly when accountants or advisers need a shared view. Its tracking covers crops, livestock, inventory, enterprise activity, farm reports and tax-ready records. It is a poor fit for farms that cannot connect through Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks Online, or that need a free ongoing plan.

Pros and cons

Pro: Farm Manager combines forecasting, scenario modelling and variance reporting with farm production tracking, supporting planning that reflects operating activity.
Pro: The 30-day trial uses live, changeable data and includes budgets, plans and reports, allowing prospective users to evaluate a realistic workflow.
Pro: Farm-management and processor integrations, plus an open API, provide several routes for connecting farm data.
Con: Each farm needs Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks Online, excluding operations that use other accounting platforms.
Con: The cheaper paid tiers omit production tracking or restrict reporting to actuals, so they do not replace Farm Manager for farms needing the full combination.
Con: Farm Manager includes only 25 fields before additional 50-field charges apply, which can increase costs for larger operations.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, see Farm Accounting Software.

Farm-Ledger is worth considering for solo operators who want a free Starter plan, or for full-farm and enterprise plans with mobile apps as well as web access.
Phoenix Financials may suit buyers seeking accounting software across desktop and mobile platforms; its Financials Desktop Lite plan starts at 57.00 AUD per month.
Traction Ag is an option for farms that want bank and credit-card syncing and cash-based accounting reports in a paid plan starting at 95.00 USD per month.
FarmRaise Tracks is an alternative for tracking income and expenses with bank and card transaction imports, at 36.00 USD per year for its yearly Premium plan.
AgriERP is an alternative farm-operations application.
CenterPoint Fund Accounting may suit organizations managing funds and grants, with pricing provided by sales.
FarmBooks is a single-farm installation for macOS and Windows, priced at 595.00 USD per once.
Agraas is another option, with a free plan and Android, iOS and web support.

Verdict

Choose Figured if your farm already uses a supported accounting platform and you want forecasting, production tracking and reporting within a shared workflow for operators and advisers. Its trial lets you assess that workflow with live data, but farms outside the accounting integrations—or those that need broad production features at the lower plan prices—should look elsewhere.
