Overview

FinStak is a Zoho-based CRM for financial advisory practices that want prospect tracking, outreach and project work in one system. It is a stronger fit for firms that will use those connected tools than for buyers seeking a CRM alone at a low per-seat cost.

Its funnel and multi-stage pipelines give advisory teams a way to organize leads and deals, while automation can handle routine follow-up. Tier choice matters: the more complete project and analytics tools come with higher per-user prices and setup fees.

Key features

Lead management and outreach

Multiple pipelines and deal stages can help practices distinguish different sales processes instead of forcing every prospect into one sequence. Workflows can send email notifications, create tasks and update fields, useful for routine coordination without claiming to automate advisory judgment. Built-in email marketing adds templates, drip campaigns and one-off emails, with delivery and read tracking. Embedded forms collect leads, and survey responses flow into contact records, keeping these interactions connected to the CRM.

Controls, integrations and projects

Audit logs, two-factor authentication, regular backups and role- and profile-based permissions address accountability and access control needs. Two data backups per month are included, and users can choose the frequency and day of the week; firms needing more frequent protection should weigh that allowance against their requirements. Calendar and task syncing with Microsoft365 or Google helps connect existing scheduling habits.

FinStak Projects adds Gantt charts, tasks, issues and milestones, which makes the Pro tier more relevant to firms coordinating work beyond prospect follow-up. Financial planning, compliance workflows and a document vault are also identified as capabilities, but the available plan descriptions do not assign them to a particular tier.

Web access is joined by Android and iOS applications, so the platform spans desktop and mobile use. The company offers a 14-day trial without a credit card and a roughly 30-minute live web-conference demo with Q&A. Support includes a Contact Help Desk option; the Help Center is coming soon.

Pricing

FinStak has a free plan and a 14-day trial, but paid plan details make setup costs and billing term important alongside the monthly seat price. The published annual rates are per user, and month-to-month prices are higher.

Basic: $60.00 USD per month, billed at $60/user/month annually or $70 month-to-month, plus a $500 setup fee. It is CRM Only, making it the entry point for firms focused on customer and deal management; it excludes the named Forms, Survey, Projects and Analytics additions.
Pro: $80.00 USD per month, billed at $80/user/month annually or $90 month-to-month, plus a $1,000 setup fee. It includes Basic, FinStak Forms, FinStak Survey and FinStak Projects. This is the practical step up for teams that need embedded data collection and project tracking, though it raises both recurring and initial cost.
Premier: $100.00 USD per month, billed at $100/user/month annually or $125 month-to-month, plus a $2,000 setup fee. It includes Pro and FinStak Analytics, fitting firms that need the analytics addition and can justify the highest listed seat and setup charges.

The free plan offers a way to start without a paid seat commitment, but its caps are not given. Firms should compare those limits with their expected usage before treating it as a lasting option. The 14-day trial provides a separate short-term evaluation route.

Platforms

FinStak supports web, Android and iOS. That combination suits practices whose staff need both browser-based CRM access and a mobile application.

Who it's for

The product is aimed at independent financial advisors, planners and solo advisors as well as ensemble practices, registered investment advisory firms, enterprise firms, broker-dealers and wealth management firms. Basic may suit a practice needing CRM functions without the named Pro additions; Pro is the more coherent choice for teams that will use forms, surveys and project tracking. The per-user model and setup fees may be harder to justify for small teams seeking only basic contact management.

Pros and cons

Pro: Multiple sales pipelines, outreach and survey tools connect prospect activity to CRM records, reducing the need to separate those workflows.
Pro: Projects provides Gantt charts, tasks, issues and milestones for firms that want project tracking alongside advisory CRM.
Pro: The no-card 14-day trial and free plan create entry points before a paid commitment.
Con: Paid plans add setup fees from $500 to $2,000, so first-year cost is more than the recurring per-user price alone.
Con: Month-to-month seats cost more than annual billing, while the free-plan caps are not given, making it harder to judge the long-term fit without checking usage limits.
Con: Basic is CRM Only; firms needing Forms, Survey or Projects must move to Pro, and Analytics requires Premier.

Alternatives

Choose Conquest if you want to consider a tool aimed at US-based independent advisors and boutique firms, typically teams of 10 or fewer; its waitlist is free and its 14-day trial is upcoming. Choose Fin365 if you prefer a paid, web-based alternative with a free trial.

MoneyGuide is worth considering when financial planning is the priority: its MyBlocks Individual plan is $125.00 USD per month per advisor with an annual subscription paid monthly, and includes access to 20+ blocks. eMoney Advisor is another paid option with a free trial and Android, iOS and web platforms; its Pro pricing varies by organizational needs.

One Adviser may suit buyers comparing paid web-based options with a free trial and seat-based plans, including a $29.00 AUD per month Client Service / Admin seat and a $79.00 AUD per month Paraplanner seat. RightCapital is a paid alternative with Android, iOS and web access; its Basic plan is $149.95 USD per year per advisor and requires an annual commitment for the first year.

Voyant is another paid web option with a free trial, including a Vault plan priced at $3.00 USD per month per client. Worksorted is a paid alternative with a free trial across web and mobile platforms; its stated licence supports unlimited users.

Verdict

FinStak is a sound choice for advisory firms that want lead and deal management tied to email outreach, data collection and project tracking, with mobile access and listed security controls. Its main advantage is that breadth within a financial-advisory-focused CRM; its main drawback is the per-user cost plus setup fees, especially for teams that need only the Basic CRM. Start with the free plan or trial if its limits suit your evaluation, and look elsewhere if lower entry costs or a different planning-focused tool matter more.
