Overview

FlexClip is a browser-based video editor with AI tools for creating videos from footage, text or presentations. It is a good fit for solo creators and small teams who want both conventional editing controls and automated workflows in one service. Its range is broad, but commercial use and higher-resolution exports require a paid plan.

Key features

The editor covers routine clip work—trimming, splitting, cropping, merging, rotation, resizing and speed changes—plus text, transitions, animations, overlays, stickers, music, sound effects and voiceovers.

AI options include avatars, long-video-to-shorts, text-to-speech, text-based editing, PPT-to-video, automatic subtitles, text-to-video, voice cloning and AI image tools. This is useful when starting from varied material or repurposing longer videos, though the free plan offers only trials of AI tools.

Exports support 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 and 21:9 aspect ratios, with paid exports reaching 4K. Media can be imported from a computer, phone, Google Drive, Google Photos, OneDrive or Dropbox; finished videos can be shared to YouTube and those cloud services. Long-to-Shorts can publish generated clips directly to YouTube and LinkedIn.

FlexClip runs on the web and has Android and iOS apps; there is no desktop app. The FAQ says the online version currently works on Google Chrome and describes a Windows desktop version compatible with Windows 10. Privacy controls are reassuring for routine work: videos and uploads are private by default, and FlexClip says it accesses content only with explicit permission to resolve an issue. It also says it follows GDPR and does not store payment details on its servers. Support replies within 2–4 business days.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and allows 12 online projects, videos up to 10 minutes, 720p downloads, and one stock video and one stock audio per project. It is suitable for trying the editor, but the resolution ceiling and restrictions on commercial use of stock resources and AI-generated content rule it out for many client or business projects. There is no free trial of a paid plan.

Plus costs 19.99 USD per month, billed monthly. It adds five stock videos and five stock audio files per project, 30GB of cloud space, 100GB of video hosting space and 100 custom templates. This is the entry paid tier for users who need more stock assets or storage and commercial-use rights.

Business costs 29.99 USD per month, billed monthly, and includes 100GB of cloud space, 1TB of video hosting, 200 custom templates, and unlimited stock video and audio per project. It is the stronger fit for frequent production where stock limits would interrupt work.

Team costs 69.99 USD per month, billed monthly, with three initial seats, additional seats available, team management and collaboration. Choose it when shared workflows matter; the listed starting allocation is three seats, so larger teams should account for additional seats. Plus, Business and Team subscribers may use stock resources and AI-generated content commercially.

Platforms

FlexClip is available on the web, Android, iOS and Windows. The web version currently supports Google Chrome, and the Windows desktop version is described as compatible with Windows 10; there is no desktop app according to the platform details.

Who it's for

FlexClip suits creators who need a practical editor alongside AI-assisted video creation, social cutdowns or presentation-to-video workflows. Its paid plans also serve teams needing stock resources, cloud space or collaboration. It is a weaker fit for commercial users unwilling to subscribe, creators who need a free 4K export, or anyone whose browser is not Chrome.

Pros and cons

Pros: Manual editing and a wide range of AI tools share one service, so users can choose a workflow for each project.
Pros: Multiple aspect ratios and exports up to 4K support varied publishing needs on paid plans.
Pros: Cloud imports and direct sharing reduce the steps between editing and publishing.
Cons: Free exports stop at 720p, videos are limited to 10 minutes, and free users cannot use stock resources or generated content commercially.
Cons: The web editor's stated browser support is currently limited to Chrome, and there is no desktop app.
Cons: Customer support replies within 2–4 business days, which may be slow for time-sensitive work.

Alternatives

For a narrower animation task, Brush Ninja has free core animation tools with no account required, plus a 7.00 USD per month Premium monthly plan that can be canceled any time. Choose it instead when those core animation tools are sufficient and a video editor is unnecessary.

GIPHY Create is a free option for users who want a tool with no listed paid plan. MakeAGIF offers a free account with 10 seconds of video time and a Premium Membership with 20 seconds of video time; its price is custom pricing. SSuite Gif Animator is freeware for Windows, including 32-bit and 64-bit systems.

For terminal-recording GIF workflows, Terminalizer is a free, open-source option under the MIT license, available on Linux, macOS and Windows. Gifox is a macOS option with a basic plan limited to 10-second screen recordings and a Pro plan at 14.99 USD per month, billed as a one-time purchase with taxes included. LICEcap is free on macOS and Windows, while Honeycam is a freemium Windows option.

Readers comparing more specialized tools can browse GIF Maker Software, AI Slideshow Makers, AI Mockup Generators, AI Coloring Page Generators, Video Intro Maker Software and Social Media Video Makers.

Verdict

Choose FlexClip if you want conventional editing, AI-assisted creation and publishing workflows together, especially as a creator or small team willing to pay for commercial rights and higher-resolution output. Look elsewhere if you need a desktop editor, broader stated browser support or unrestricted commercial work on a free plan.
