Overview

FlinkISO is open-source quality management software for bringing controlled documents, configurable forms and quality records into one system. It suits organisations that need a broad QMS and can either manage a server themselves or pay for hosting and setup help. Its standout trade-off is a no-expiry, unlimited-user self-hosted edition against hosted service with storage charges tied to usage and a 25 MB per-file ceiling.

Support for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 13485, plus configurable additional standards, gives it room to serve organisations working across quality frameworks. The software can help organise compliance work; using it does not itself establish compliance.

FlinkISO sits in Quality Management Software, with useful overlap in Document Management Software and Audit Management Software.

Key features

Document control and collaboration

Storage, search, retrieval, access restrictions, version control and approval workflows cover the core document-control cycle. ONLYOFFICE integration adds document creation, editing, collaboration, approval and publishing. Password-protected PDF downloads and records of issue numbers, timestamps and users provide a practical audit trail for controlled distribution.

Forms and quality processes

Drag-and-drop HTML form creation includes fields, layouts, validations and custom business rules, so teams can shape records without coding. Generated forms can export data as JSON or XML through authorized integrations using a table route and custom table ID. That is useful where forms need to feed another system, though it requires integration work rather than a turnkey connector.

Modules cover audits, change control, management reviews, complaints, nonconformities, corrective actions, employee training, equipment records and calibration. This breadth makes FlinkISO more compelling as a central QMS than as a narrowly focused audit tool. It also supports document control, compliance records and approval workflows. Compliance references include 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11.

AI and deployment

AI connections work with cloud OpenAI-compatible providers or self-hosted Ollama servers for chat and form-building workflows. Organisations can install the application on Linux or Windows servers; manual installation uses Apache or IIS, MySQL and PHP. That flexibility favors teams with infrastructure capacity, while the technical stack and upkeep are real costs for small teams without IT support.

Pricing

The freemium model ranges from a free self-managed installation to hosted service, form-development access and paid implementation support. A 15-day trial is offered.

Free On-Premise — 0.00 USD per free: Unlimited concurrent users, all QMS modules and self-hosted data and documents, with no expiry. It is the strongest fit for organisations able to install and maintain their own infrastructure. Free users receive manuals, videos, a community forum and email support, but not the training and priority assistance added to paid plans.
Form Creation API — 80.00 USD per month: Create custom forms and modules and modify generated forms. This is for teams extending their QMS through forms; it is not the hosted QMS plan.
On-Cloud QMS — 80.00 USD per month: Includes API access, unlimited users and records, daily backups and hosted ONLYOFFICE. Storage is charged according to monthly average daily usage and varies by usage band; each uploaded file is capped at 25 MB. The lack of set limits on users, documents, processes, forms and uploads is attractive, but variable storage costs and the file-size ceiling matter for document-heavy operations.
Startup Plan — 750.00 USD per once: A one-time payment for the three-month plan, including installation, training, three months of API access and priority support. Designed for small and medium organisations seeking guided setup for an on-premise QMS, it buys help getting started rather than a permanent hosted subscription.
Enterprise Support — custom pricing: Implementation assistance, customisation and reports, plus priority support, suit organisations that need tailored help.

Platforms

FlinkISO supports API, Linux, self-hosted, web and Windows. The deployment options are useful for teams choosing between their own servers and hosted access, but the self-managed route calls for server administration and the hosted route imposes the 25 MB upload limit.

Who it's for

FlinkISO is a good match for organisations that need multiple QMS processes, configurable forms and controlled records, especially those with staff able to run an on-premise installation. Small and medium organisations wanting guided on-premise setup can use the Startup Plan. Hosted service is a more direct path for teams seeking managed access, provided usage-based storage and the per-file cap fit their document needs. It is less suitable for teams seeking a simple, narrowly scoped tool without infrastructure responsibilities or storage considerations.

Pros and cons

Pro: The free on-premise plan has no expiry, unlimited concurrent users and all QMS modules, making broad deployment possible without a recurring software charge.
Pro: Document control, approvals, forms, audits, corrective actions and training records sit within one system, reducing the need to split core QMS work across separate tools.
Pro: Linux or Windows installation, hosted service and integrations with ONLYOFFICE and AI providers give organisations several ways to fit the software to their setup.
Con: Self-hosting means managing the server stack and maintenance; free support does not include the training and priority help offered on paid plans.
Con: Hosted storage costs vary with usage, and no upload can exceed 25 MB, which may constrain document-heavy teams.
Con: The $80 monthly Form Creation API and On-Cloud QMS are separate plans with different inclusions, so buyers need to choose based on whether they need form development, hosting or both.

Verdict

Choose FlinkISO if your organisation needs a broad, configurable QMS and can handle self-hosting or budget for hosted service and setup support. Its no-expiry plan, full module set and form-building flexibility are persuasive for teams that want control over their quality processes. Look elsewhere if your documents routinely exceed 25 MB, variable cloud storage charges are unwelcome, or you need a mobile-first workflow.
