Overview

FoneTool is a collection of mobile and desktop products rather than a single license covering every task. The mobile app moves selected files between phones, while the desktop software adds backup, transfer, WhatsApp management, data erasure, and HEIC conversion. Repair Pro and Unlocker Pro are separate products, so buyers should identify the job they need before choosing a plan.

The free edition backs up or transfers photos, music, videos, contacts, and messages from iPhone to PC, and can also be used to evaluate the software. That makes it a practical starting point for routine copies of those file types. It is not a complete messages archive: the current version cannot back up or restore photos, videos, Animoji, or other attachments in SMS.

Key features

Selective phone transfers

The mobile app transfers photos, videos, music, and contacts among iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Android devices. Previewing files and selecting individual items is useful when a full migration would include more than the recipient needs. The app says transfers work without Wi-Fi or cellular data, but both devices must have FoneTool installed.

Desktop backup and management

The desktop app adds file backup, data transfer, and iPhone switching, alongside WhatsApp management, data erasure, and HEIC conversion. Product pages also include WhatsApp backup and transfer and iCloud management. This breadth suits people who expect to manage several parts of an iPhone workflow from a computer, though it does not remove the SMS-attachment gap.

Separate repair and unlocking tools

Repair Pro lists fixes for more than 160 iOS and iPadOS issues, iOS upgrades or downgrades, Recovery Mode controls, and device wipe or reset without a password. Unlocker Pro lists screen-passcode and Apple ID removal, Screen Time bypass, and iTunes backup encryption removal. These are distinct purchases from FoneTool Pro, so a backup license should not be treated as including them.

Privacy and support

Transferred data is stored locally on the computer, and FoneTool says it does not sell personal information. The store advertises permanent free technical support and a 90-day unconditional money-back guarantee. The Android app requires Android 7.0 or later and says it supports all Android phone brands.

Pricing

FoneTool has a free edition and paid yearly and lifetime licenses. The free edition covers the listed iPhone-to-PC file types, but the paid plans are split by product and differ in device and computer allowances.

FoneTool Unlocker Pro — Yearly: 29.95 USD per year, with 1 Year Free Upgrades for 5 iOS Devices / 1 PC. It is the lower-cost choice for someone seeking Unlocker Pro features, but it is a yearly license rather than a lifetime purchase.
FoneTool Pro — Yearly: 39.95 USD per year, with 1 Year Free Upgrades for Unlimited Devices / 5 PCs. It suits users who need the core transfer and management tools across several devices or computers.
FoneTool Repair Pro — Yearly: 39.95 USD per year, with 1 Year Free Upgrades for 5 iOS Devices / 1 PC. Choose it for the separate repair utilities; it does not replace the broader Pro license.
FoneTool Unlocker Pro — Lifetime: 49.95 USD per once, with Lifetime Free Upgrades for 5 iOS Devices / 1 PC. It costs more upfront than one year of Unlocker Pro but avoids an annual term.
FoneTool Repair Pro — Lifetime: 49.95 USD per once, with Lifetime Free Upgrades for 5 iOS Devices / 1 PC. It is the lifetime option for buyers focused on repair features.
FoneTool Pro — Lifetime: 59.95 USD per once, with Lifetime Free Upgrades for Unlimited Devices / 5 PCs. It is the broadest listed allowance for the core desktop product, at a higher one-time price than the yearly plan.

The yearly plans include one year of free upgrades, while lifetime plans include lifetime free upgrades. The paid product lines remain separate, so users who need repair or unlocking alongside Pro should account for separate licenses.

Platforms

FoneTool supports Android, iOS, and Windows. The mobile app handles phone-to-phone transfers, while the desktop offering provides computer backup and management. Phone-to-computer transfer and app transfer are supported; the free edition's stated file coverage is specifically for transfers or backups from iPhone to PC.

Who it's for

FoneTool is a good match for iPhone owners who want selective transfers, a local computer backup, or desktop tools for WhatsApp and iCloud management. The free edition is particularly relevant for people whose basic iPhone-to-PC needs are limited to photos, music, videos, contacts, and messages without attachments.

It is a weaker fit for anyone who relies on SMS photos, videos, Animoji, or other message attachments in their backup, or who expects one license to cover transfer, repair, and unlocking. Android users can use the mobile app for transfers, but the described backup and management tools are centered on iOS devices.

Pros and cons

Pros

Useful free starting point: It covers common iPhone-to-PC transfers and backups, including photos, music, videos, contacts, and messages.
Selective transfers: File previews and item-level selection help avoid moving unnecessary content.
Broad desktop toolkit: Backup, iPhone switching, WhatsApp management, iCloud management, erasure, and HEIC conversion extend its use beyond a one-time migration.
Local storage and stated privacy commitment: Transferred data stays on the computer, and FoneTool says it does not sell personal information.

Cons

SMS attachments are unsupported: Photos, videos, Animoji, and other attachments in SMS cannot be backed up or restored in the current version.
Paid tools are separated: Repair Pro and Unlocker Pro require their own plans rather than coming with FoneTool Pro.
Offline transfers require setup on both devices: The no-network option still depends on installing the app on each phone.

Alternatives

Huawei HiSuite is a better fit for someone who wants a free Windows or Mac utility focused on Huawei devices, with Mac support for pictures, video, files, and backup or restore.
Syncios Manager is another freemium desktop option for people comparing a free version with a paid one-year subscription.
vivo EasyShare is the simpler free alternative when the priority is file transfer or phone cloning across Android, iOS, Mac, and Windows.
Wondershare MobileTrans is worth considering for buyers seeking a paid tool with phone backup and restore, app backup and restore, and deleted WhatsApp data restore in its monthly plan.
Contact Transfer is an alternative for buyers focused on contact transfers and a one-time lifetime software license.
EaseUS MobiMover is another freemium desktop option for users comparing monthly or yearly Pro plans.
Syncios Data Transfer is an alternative for people who want a freemium phone-transfer product with yearly and lifetime license options.
AnyDroid is an option for buyers seeking a paid Android-focused tool that also supports web access and offers a free trial.

Verdict

Choose FoneTool if you want selective phone transfers and a Windows-based iPhone backup and management toolkit, especially if its free edition covers your routine file needs. Its main advantage is the range of tasks gathered around iPhone management; its clearest reason to look elsewhere is the lack of SMS attachment backup and restore, compounded by separate licenses for repair and unlocking.
