Overview

FoodChow Online Ordering is a restaurant operations platform for businesses that want online ordering connected to a POS, kitchen display, delivery controls and promotions. It suits restaurants and other service businesses looking to manage several sales channels together, particularly in India. Its offline POS and lifetime purchase options stand out, but the free POS tier excludes reports and some advanced features.

Orders can come through a branded website, Android and iOS customer apps, QR-code menus or the FoodChow marketplace. The POS links orders with billing, inventory, menu and table management, payments, and the kitchen display system. It also supports dine-in, pickup and delivery.

FoodChow Online Ordering, founded in 2011 and headquartered in Surat, Gujarat, targets dine-in restaurants, QSRs, cloud kitchens, food trucks, hotels, caterers, cafés and bakeries; it also names salons and spas as supported businesses.

Key features

POS and offline operation

The POS can keep generating sales when the internet is down, then sync data to the cloud after connectivity returns. That is useful for venues with unreliable connections. Its operational breadth is a strength, but restaurants relying on reporting should account for reports being excluded from the free POS tier.

Ordering and delivery

FoodChow combines branded storefront and app ordering with QR menus and marketplace orders. Operators can configure delivery zones, distance-based charges, minimum order values and free-delivery thresholds, giving them control over where orders go and what customers must spend. India payment options include Razorpay, UPI, PayU and local providers.

Promotions and support

Marketing tools cover coupons, combo deals, time-based promotions, festival and off-peak offers, WhatsApp campaigns, loyalty tools and SEO support. FoodChow advertises 24/7 online support and staff training. For Indian restaurants, it supports more than 35 languages and applies CGST plus SGST at 5% on restaurant service per outlet state. FoodChow says Indian restaurants can go live in 24–48 hours with menu import, GST and ordering setup, and step-by-step training.

FoodChow says business data is stored on encrypted cloud servers and describes its POS as providing data protection, secure transactions and regular updates.

Pricing

FoodChow has a free tier, a 7-day free trial and three stated lifetime plans. The free tier is substantial for a small operation: in India, POS is free for life, and online ordering is free for life up to 100 orders per month. That cap makes it a reasonable starting point for low order volumes, but businesses needing reports or advanced POS features will need to consider a paid option.

Online Food Ordering Life-time Plan: 300.00 USD per once, billed lifetime. It covers take-away and dine-in, Razorpay, online order management and a 1.8% per-order charge. It suits businesses focused on those ordering modes; it does not include delivery in the stated scope.
Delivery Ready Lifetime Plan: 300.00 USD per once, billed lifetime. It adds delivery to take-away and dine-in, with Razorpay, own driver or Porter, online order management and a 1.8% per-order charge. This is the closer fit for restaurants managing delivery themselves or through Porter.
Growth Plan: 600.00 USD per once. It includes take-away, dine-in and delivery, Razorpay, own driver or Porter, online ordering plus billing in the full app, a 1.8% per-order charge and 250 orders guaranteed in 90 days. The higher upfront cost buys the stated billing app and order guarantee; it is the most complete of these options for a business wanting ordering and billing together.

The cheaper lifetime plans keep the 1.8% per-order charge and do not include the Growth Plan's stated full billing app or 250-order guarantee. That makes the Growth Plan harder to justify for an operator who only needs online order management.

Platforms

FoodChow supports Android, iOS, web and Windows. Customers can order through Android and iOS apps, a branded website, QR menus and the marketplace; the platform also supports branded mobile apps.

Who it's for

FoodChow is a strong fit for restaurants that want ordering, POS and delivery management in one system, especially Indian operators who can use its language, tax and payment support. Offline sales capability is a practical advantage for locations with unreliable connectivity. It is less suited to a business that needs a full reporting capability on the free POS tier or wants delivery included in the lowest-scoped lifetime plan.

Pros and cons

Pros: Offline POS can continue sales and sync later, reducing reliance on a live connection.
Pros: Multiple ordering channels, POS functions and configurable delivery rules bring customer ordering and restaurant operations together.
Pros: Indian payment, language and tax support addresses needs specific to that market.
Cons: The free POS tier excludes reports and some advanced features, so a no-cost start may not cover management needs.
Cons: The two 300.00 USD per once plans still carry a 1.8% charge per order.
Cons: The first lifetime plan covers take-away and dine-in but not delivery, requiring a different plan for that workflow.

Alternatives

Fee Free Ordering is worth considering for a free ordering platform with a 100-orders-per-month cap, or for a 9.99 USD per month custom-domain option; its supported platforms are Android, iOS and web. Ressto is another freemium option with a free forever plan capped at 100 orders per month and support for Android, iOS and web.

GloriaFood may suit restaurants prioritizing a free service plan with unlimited orders, unlimited locations, no per-order commission and no monthly fee. Lunchbox has free plans for one to two locations, while its enterprise plan has custom pricing.

Orderlina is a freemium option with a free plan covering QR-accessible menus, online ordering and payments. Uber Eats is an alternative for businesses considering a marketplace service; its free plan has no monthly fee to order, though fees and item prices apply per order.

Restolabs is a paid alternative with a 30-day trial and a Basic plan at 199.00 USD per month for zero-commission unlimited orders. TastyIgniter Kitchen Display is a free option for operators seeking a kitchen display extension for TastyIgniter v4.x. Verdict

Choose FoodChow if you want a single platform for restaurant ordering, POS and delivery, and especially if offline sales or India-specific tools matter. Its channel coverage and delivery controls are compelling, but the 1.8% per-order charge on the lifetime plans and the free POS tier's missing reports are meaningful trade-offs. Look elsewhere if you need a reporting-rich free POS or a different pricing structure.
