Overview

FotoJet brings collage-making, photo editing and template-led design together in a browser-based service. It is a sensible fit for people creating still-image collages and everyday graphics without installing software; those who need video collages should look elsewhere.

You can start without registering, and the maker also offers separate Designer, Collage Maker and Photo Editor apps for Windows and Mac. FotoJet is developed by PearlMountain Limited.

Key features

Collages and design

More than 800 collage layouts and templates give users a broad set of starting points, and custom layouts allow more control over the arrangement. Templates and resources also cover social media graphics, posters, cards and banners, so FotoJet can handle several basic visual tasks in one place. It does not make video collages, which rules it out for projects built around moving images.

Photo editing and exports

The online editor covers crop, resize and rotate, with text, clip art, effects, overlays and frames for more decorative work. That is a useful toolkit for preparing images within a collage or graphic, though the stated tools point to general editing rather than specialized photo work. JPG and PNG exports are supported, and watermark-free exports are a stated capability.

Projects, privacy and support

Plus adds advanced tools, custom canvas sizes, the ability to save and load projects, cloud storage, premium templates and resources, ad-free editing and priority support. Its privacy policy says uploaded and created content stays private to the account unless shared; FotoJet says it accesses that content only with explicit permission to resolve an in-app issue. It also says card details go directly to its payment processor and that it does not retain card numbers or other sensitive payment-instrument details. Tutorials and FAQs are available through the help center, which also accepts feedback and suggestions.

Pricing

FotoJet has a free plan and a 7-day trial. The free tier includes basic editing tools and templates and resources; one version of the plan also names a free online collage maker. That is enough to try basic creations without paying, but the advanced tools, project saving and loading, cloud storage, premium resources and ad-free editing are Plus features.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	0.00 USD per free	Basic editing tools, basic templates and resources; free online collage maker
Plus monthly	6.99 USD per month	Advanced editing tools, 500MB online photo storage, 800+ premium templates, 30+ premium fonts and priority support
Plus annual	39.99 USD per year, shown as $3.33 USD/month	Advanced editing tools, 500MB online photo storage, 800+ premium templates, 30+ premium fonts and priority support

The annual subscription lowers the stated monthly equivalent compared with paying month to month, but it is a yearly commitment. Plus subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled, and charges are non-refundable, so check the renewal timing before subscribing. FotoJet says it uses SSL encryption to protect payment information.

Platforms

FotoJet is available on the web and lists Linux, macOS and Windows among its platforms. Separate Designer, Collage Maker and Photo Editor desktop apps are offered for Windows and Mac. The browser service’s no-account start is convenient for a quick try; the named desktop apps provide another route for those working on those operating systems.

Who it's for

FotoJet suits individuals who want one service for photo collages, simple edits and template-based social or print graphics, especially if they value a large layout selection and a free way to get started. It is less suitable for video collages or for anyone who does not want an automatically renewing subscription with non-refundable charges.

Pros and cons

Pros: More than 800 collage layouts, plus custom layouts, provide plenty of ways to arrange still images.
Pros: Templates span social graphics, posters, cards and banners, alongside basic photo-editing tools.
Pros: Free use without registration or download lowers the barrier to trying the browser service.
Cons: Video collages are not supported, so the tool is limited to still-image work.
Cons: Plus renews automatically and charges are non-refundable, making cancellation timing important.
Cons: Plus storage is 500MB, a defined ceiling for users who plan to keep projects online.

Alternatives

Choose PicCollage if you want a collage service available on Android and iOS as well as the web. SCRL is another freemium collage option. SnapLayout is worth considering for iOS or macOS users who want exports capped at 1080px on the longest edge on its free plan. PhotoGrid is an option for Android or iOS users as well as web users. CollageIt offers Windows, Mac and iOS versions, with a Windows and Mac free download that supports up to 200 photos. Shape Collage covers Linux, macOS, web and Windows as well as iOS; its free version is for personal use, with Pro required for commercial use and watermark removal. LiveCollage is an iOS and macOS alternative. Photovisi is a web-based alternative whose free collage output may be limited by low resolution or a watermark.

For a broader comparison, browse Collage Maker Software, Social Media Post Maker Software, Print Design Template Libraries, Poster Design Software, Social Media Design Software and Photo Editing Software.

Verdict

FotoJet is a good match for people who want collages, everyday photo edits and template-based graphics in one service, with a free starting point and a substantial layout selection. Its main drawback is the Plus commitment: automatic renewal and non-refundable charges make it a weaker choice for anyone who needs flexible billing or wants video collage tools.
