Overview

FundFigure is cloud-based fund accounting software for organizations in New Hampshire, with grant management alongside accounting and payroll. It is best suited to schools, municipalities, businesses, and nonprofits that need local reporting and finance workflows in one system. Its regional focus is a clear advantage for those organizations, but a narrower fit for buyers looking across jurisdictions.

Core accounting, payroll, bank feeds, and state reporting work together; custom pricing and usage-based document processing mean buyers should weigh the full cost against their needs.

Key features

The accounting tools cover general ledger, accounts payable, budgets, bank reconciliation, and year-end close. Plaid connections import bank transactions and support matching, which can reduce manual reconciliation work. This combination suits organizations that want routine fund accounting and bank activity together, though it does not make the product a natural choice for teams without fund-accounting needs.

Payroll includes direct deposit, pay-stub generation, and NHRS reporting. Compliance reporting includes DOE-25, NHRS, NHES, Form 941, and W-2 preparation. That state-oriented coverage is a practical reason for New Hampshire organizations to consider FundFigure; buyers outside those workflows may get less from its local specialization.

Municipal tools include police overtime tracking, FLSA compliance, detail billing, and NHRS creditable splits. These make the product more relevant to municipalities than a general accounting tool, while organizations without municipal operations have less reason to value that layer.

Document Intelligence extracts invoice data with AI, supports batch processing, and provides searchable filing. It may reduce repetitive invoice handling, but its usage-based charge makes document volume a cost consideration rather than an included, unlimited capability.

Employees can view pay stubs, enter timesheets, request leave, and use a personal dashboard. Multi-organization access allows management from one login, with six role-based permission levels; the platform also includes role-based access and audit trails. Those controls suit organizations with multiple entities or differentiated responsibilities, although they add little to a simple single-entity requirement.

Pricing

FundFigure is paid software with a custom estimate rather than a fixed published plan price. Pricing scales primarily with employee count and number of entities, and the estimate calculator adjusts to the modules selected. The maker says organizations using Accounting, Payroll, and Bank Feeds together typically pay about one-half of one percent of annual operating budget; that benchmark is useful for initial budgeting, but an organization-specific estimate is still needed.

The custom estimate includes migration, onboarding, and training. Document Intelligence is an additional usage-based charge tied to the number of documents processed, so organizations with high invoice volume should account for that variable cost. There is no free plan. A 30-day trial requires no credit card, giving teams a limited period to assess fit before committing.

Platforms

FundFigure is a cloud-deployed web platform. That fits organizations working through a browser and preferring cloud deployment; the product is not positioned here as a desktop application.

Who it's for

FundFigure is strongest for New Hampshire schools, municipalities, businesses, and nonprofits that need fund accounting alongside payroll and state reporting. Municipalities have particular reason to evaluate its overtime, detail billing, FLSA, and NHRS workflows. Buyers outside New Hampshire, or those needing only basic bookkeeping, should be cautious about paying for a specialized system whose most distinctive value is local compliance.

Pros and cons

Pros: Accounting, payroll, bank feeds, and New Hampshire reporting are combined, which can keep related finance tasks within one system.
Pros: Municipal workflows and multi-organization access address needs that are specific to public organizations and entities.
Pros: A 30-day, no-card trial and included migration, onboarding, and training lower the barrier to evaluating a custom-priced system.
Cons: No fixed plan price or free plan makes cost comparison harder before requesting an estimate.
Cons: Document Intelligence is usage-based, so processing more invoices can increase cost.
Cons: Its New Hampshire reporting emphasis is less useful to organizations that do not need those state workflows.

Alternatives

For a broader directory of options, compare Government Accounting Software and Fund Accounting Software.

Choose Infor ERP if you want to consider its industry-specific CloudSuite ERP packages and are prepared to contact Infor for a quote. CGI Advantage is another paid ERP option with pricing discussed through its team or a demo request. Civica Complaints Management is a paid option with pricing by enquiry. Infor Public Sector is another paid platform whose pricing requires contacting Infor.

FreeBalance Accountability Suite offers six base configurations as a modular suite for government and public-sector organizations. OpenGov Accounts Payable is a paid alternative focused on accounts payable. If you want a published starting price and no long-term contract, consider TownCloud Finance Suite, starting at 99.00 USD per month. Tyler New World ERP is another paid web and Windows option.

Verdict

FundFigure is a strong candidate for New Hampshire organizations that want fund accounting, payroll, municipal workflows, and state reporting in one cloud system. Its most compelling reason to choose it is that local compliance coverage sits alongside day-to-day accounting rather than apart from it. Look elsewhere if you need a free product, a predictable published price, or a platform whose primary value is not tied to New Hampshire workflows.
