Overview

LootAtlas is a game-mapping service for players who want to find secrets, organise discoveries, and plan routes through game worlds. It is best suited to players whose games are covered and who want community guides alongside maps. Its breadth is useful, but the directory’s available, highlights, and coming soon categories make checking coverage essential.

Key features

Maps and shared planning

Interactive maps mark points of interest and secret locations, while custom markers and found-item tracking help players keep a record of progress. Route planning is useful for preparing a path through a game rather than searching for locations one by one. Players can also draw routes and ambush points and share those drawings with friends in real time, a practical advantage for coordinating a group.

Guides and game databases

Community members can publish maps, guides, images, and videos tied to locations. Guides may combine text with images and YouTube videos, while Q&A and location comments support discussion around specific places. The game databases add items, recipes, traders, and quests with objectives and rewards, making LootAtlas more than a map viewer for players who use those resources.

Progression and coverage

XP for pins, quests, and streaks, plus credits for leaderboard positions, add a reward layer to exploration. That may appeal to players who enjoy tracking activity, though it is secondary to the practical map and database tools. The directory states that LootAtlas covers 27 games and 189 maps, with 23 games marked available and four marked as highlights; entries are also separated into coming soon. Coverage is therefore substantial but not uniform, so players should confirm their game is available before relying on the service.

Pricing

LootAtlas is free, with the app listed at 0.00 USD per free. No subscription price is stated, and the service invites one-off contributions starting at $1 rather than charging a recurring subscription. That makes it an approachable option for players who want mapping and community tools without a subscription commitment. There are no separate paid tiers or plan-specific limits to weigh.

The payment for contributions is described as secure. The privacy policy says personal-data processing follows the GDPR and applicable country-specific data-protection rules, while also warning that internet transmissions can have security gaps and cannot be guaranteed absolutely.

Platforms

LootAtlas is available on the web and through iOS and Android apps. The App Store version history says sign-in supports Steam, Epic Games, and Discord. Players choosing a platform should note that the mobile apps are linked from the download page; the core map and community tools are described across the service.

Who it's for

LootAtlas is a strong fit for players who want maps, item and quest references, and community-made location guides in one service, especially those who plan routes or coordinate with friends. Its free access also suits players who want to explore those tools without a subscription. It is a weaker fit when a player’s game is not marked available, or when they need a clearly guaranteed level of security for internet-based data transfers.

Pros and cons

Pros: Maps, guides, databases, and found-item tracking bring exploration and reference material together.
Pros: Real-time sharing of route and ambush drawings gives groups a way to coordinate plans.
Pros: Free access and optional one-off contributions avoid a stated subscription charge.
Cons: Coverage categories mean not every game in the directory is necessarily ready to use.
Cons: The privacy policy does not promise absolute protection for internet transmissions.
Cons: Progression rewards such as XP and leaderboard credits may add little for players who want only a straightforward reference map.

Alternatives

Interactive Game Maps is a broader directory to consult when you want to compare map services. Choose TH.GL instead if its free interactive maps, filters, and live tracking suit you; it also offers a $2.00 USD Enthusiast plan, while cloud-synced filters and marker comments require sign-in. Gamer Guides Interactive Maps may fit players who want guides, maps, databases, bookmarks, and discussion, with its free plan capped at 50 map markers per map and a $2.99 USD per month ad-free plan. Pick OGM if offline maps and tracking on Android, iOS, or macOS matter more; its free plan is ad-supported, and monthly premium is $1.99 USD per month to remove ads.

Guild Order is another option for readers comparing game-planning platforms. The Forest Map Companion offers interactive maps and guides free, with a $3.99 USD per month Forest Monthly plan or a $6.99 USD per year Forest Yearly plan. GameMaps keeps browser maps free and also offers paid subscriptions through its Overwolf app. Tarkov Navigator may suit players seeking a free web map option with a free plan priced at 0.00 RUB per free. ClearedMap offers free web maps, markers, checklists, notes, and drawings without requiring an account.

Verdict

Choose LootAtlas if your game is covered and you want free maps backed by community guides, game databases, progress tracking, and shareable plans. Its strongest reason to choose it is the combination of practical reference tools and real-time collaboration without a subscription price. Look elsewhere if your game is not available or if your needs centre on a different platform-specific feature, such as OGM’s offline maps.
