Overview

getAbstract is an organizational learning platform built around concise business knowledge, with summaries, courses, and tools for employee development. It suits companies adding learning to an existing workplace program; its strongest case is the breadth of its licensed content and integration options, while individual buyers face a brief, download-restricted trial.

The library combines more than 50,000 verified summaries from over 850 publishers with 27,000 courses. Text, audio, curated channels, and learning journeys give learners different ways into the material, but the short-form focus is not a substitute for deep, sequential instruction where that is the goal.

Key features

Learning formats and team tools

Content is available as text summaries and audio narration, with curated channels and journeys in eight languages. Learning paths and micro-courses help teams structure material around development needs; Meeting in a Box and access to experts and authors add options for group learning. This mix is useful for ongoing workplace learning, especially across varied teams, though it places more emphasis on digestible knowledge than extended course instruction.

Integration, identity, and AI

More than 25 LMS/LXP integrations include SAP SuccessFactors, Cornerstone, Workday Learning, Degreed, and 360Learning. SCORM, xAPI, LTI, cmi5, AICC, and REST API support give organizations several ways to connect content to learning systems. SAML or OIDC single sign-on and SCIM provisioning address identity and user management; these options matter most to employers incorporating the service into established IT operations.

getAbstract says its verified business knowledge can ground enterprise AI through a Microsoft connector or direct integration with custom agents. Its certified Microsoft 365 Copilot connector works with Teams, Copilot, and Graph. The company says content is licensed from publishing partners rather than gathered by crawling the open web, a distinction relevant to organizations weighing content rights and knowledge provenance.

Security and administration

The company states that its Swiss-hosted data center is certified to SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001:2022. Admin reporting, offline access, and mobile access are also included among the offering’s capabilities, supporting oversight and learning beyond a desktop browser.

Pricing

getAbstract uses a freemium model: a free plan is available, and paid access starts at $20/user/mo (annual). The entry price gives organizations a reference point, but the enterprise learning solutions plan uses custom pricing. It is designed for companies of any size and includes custom SSO and LMS/LXP integrations plus a dedicated customer success manager, so it is better suited to organizations that need tailored deployment and support than individuals choosing a fixed subscription.

The general free trial lasts three days, provides online access to available content, and disables downloads. That is a narrow window for evaluating the library, particularly for readers who want to use material offline. Organizations seeking a company trial are directed to contact the corporate team. The free plan is an option for trying the service without a paid subscription, but the trial’s download restriction should not be confused with the paid offering’s offline access.

Platforms

getAbstract is available on the web, Android, and iOS, and offers an API. The mobile app supports learning away from a desktop, while the API and listed integration standards give organizations options for connecting it to their systems.

Who it's for

getAbstract is best for employers that want a broad business-learning library, guided formats for teams, and integration with existing LMS/LXP and identity systems. Its multilingual content and Microsoft integration options may also fit organizations connecting learning with workplace tools and enterprise AI. Individual readers seeking extended instruction or more time to assess downloads should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad business-learning catalog: more than 50,000 verified summaries and 27,000 courses give teams multiple content types to draw on.
Useful workplace integration range: more than 25 LMS/LXP integrations, technical standards, single sign-on, and provisioning support enterprise deployment needs.
Flexible learning delivery: text, audio, curated journeys, mobile apps, and offline access accommodate different learning routines.
Enterprise-focused controls and options: admin reporting, a dedicated customer success manager on the enterprise plan, and stated security certifications address organizational requirements.

Cons

Trial is very short: three days may leave little time for a thorough evaluation.
Trial downloads are disabled: readers cannot assess offline use during the general trial.
Enterprise pricing requires a conversation: companies needing custom integrations or SSO must pursue a custom-priced plan rather than a published enterprise rate.
Short-form emphasis has a trade-off: summaries and micro-courses may not meet the needs of learners seeking in-depth, sequential instruction.

VinciWorks is a paid alternative with a three-year initial term for its Omnitrack Starter plan; consider it if that licensing arrangement fits your organization.

Look elsewhere if you need a long evaluation period, trial downloads, or a clearly priced enterprise plan before speaking with the provider.
