Overview

GregMat brings study plans, practice, memorization tools and classes together for GRE, GMAT, TOEFL and IELTS preparation, as well as grammar, admissions and statement-of-purpose advice. Its founder, a teacher, created it to make preparation more affordable and engaging. It is not a fit for GRE Subject Tests, the SAT or ACT, and it does not guarantee GRE score increases.

Key features

Structured preparation and practice

Revision plans, adaptive practice and full-length mock tests give learners more structure than a collection of standalone questions. The free account offers three GRE full practice tests, selected videos and practice resources, and the first modules of selected study plans; other free tools and practice exams are also available. That is enough to explore the approach, but not the breadth of a paid study plan.

Classes and materials

GregMAT+ subscribers can attend all live classes each week and watch recordings in the member area. Classes use official ETS quantitative and verbal guides but generally avoid ETS practice-test material, so learners seeking practice drawn from official tests should not treat the classes as a substitute for it. Video downloads work through the app, not the website.

Accessibility and support

The site supports common Windows accessibility tools, and videos have automatic subtitles. Users with visual or auditory impairments can request a free trial before subscribing. Community discussion runs through forums rather than Discord, with support also available from a support team. Students with approved break accommodations must use Untimed mode and time themselves manually, an extra step for timed practice.

Pricing

GregMat is freemium. The Free account is free and includes three GRE full practice tests, selected free videos and practice resources, and the first modules of selected study plans. Free practice exams and tools are available without strings attached, but the free account does not provide the full paid study plans and class access.

GregMAT+ costs 11.99 USD per month for new subscribers, billed monthly. It includes GRE study plans, live and recorded classes, GRE practice and memorization tools, and app access. This is the main option for GRE learners who want a structured course and weekly classes. Existing subscribers who are eligible keep their old rate while maintaining a valid subscription.

GregMAT+ with PrepSwift costs 14.99 USD per month, billed monthly, and adds PrepSwift bite-sized videos and quizzes to GregMAT+ content. Choose it for that additional format; otherwise the standard Plus plan covers the listed GRE plan, classes and tools at a lower monthly price. Six-month GregMAT+ and GregMAT+ with PrepSwift options are offered at custom pricing.

Separate GMAT and TOEFL plans each cost 3.00 USD per month, billed monthly. The GMAT plan includes a GMAT study plan, videos, practice problems and memorization tools; the TOEFL plan includes study resources, practice problems and vocabulary tools. These lower-cost plans are focused alternatives to Plus, not a route to its GRE classes and resources. PrepSwift costs an extra 3.00 USD per month as an add-on. GregMat Plus is also priced at 59.95 USD per year and GregMat Plus + PrepSwift at 74.95 USD per year; both are described as six-month prices, so they should not be confused with the monthly subscription terms above.

Platforms

GregMat supports the web, iOS, Android and macOS on M1 or higher. The app is required for video downloads; downloads are not supported on the website.

Who it's for

GregMat is best for self-directed GRE learners who benefit from a study plan, recurring classes and practice tools, and for GMAT or TOEFL learners who want a low monthly-cost subject-specific plan. The free account suits people who want to sample selected materials before paying. Look elsewhere if your target is the GRE Subject Test, SAT or ACT, if approved-break timing must be built into timed practice, or if a score guarantee is essential.

Pros and cons

Pros

Useful free starting point: The account includes three GRE full practice tests and selected study-plan modules, while additional free exams and tools do not require a subscription.
Classes paired with a plan: Plus subscribers get all weekly live classes and recordings alongside GRE study plans and practice tools.
Lower-cost subject plans: GMAT and TOEFL subscriptions each cost 3.00 USD per month and include subject-specific study resources and practice.
Several access options: Web, mobile apps and M1-or-higher Macs accommodate different study setups, with app-based video downloads for offline viewing.

Cons

Coverage has clear gaps: There is no preparation for GRE Subject Tests, SAT or ACT.
No score promise: GregMat does not guarantee GRE score gains, so learners must judge it as a preparation resource rather than an outcome guarantee.
Some timed work needs a workaround: Approved-break students must use Untimed mode and keep time themselves.
Website lacks video downloads: Learners who want downloaded classes must use the app.

Alternatives

Browse Exam prep apps for a broader directory of exam-preparation choices. For PTE, PTE Tutorials offers a free tier with practice questions, model answers and mobile app access. Gurully is another freemium PTE option, with a free trial and paid memberships sold for 7 or 15 days.

For GMAT preparation, GMAT Official Prep offers a free official starter kit with two full-length practice exams. For UCAT, GAMSAT, interviews or A Levels, Medify has a free tier with study notes, a guidebook and work-experience map, plus a weekly paid option. AceGCSE is a freemium, mobile-accessible option for GCSE revision with four free sample questions per topic and a seven-day mobile-app trial.

For SIE preparation, GoFINRA offers three free modules without a card or trial requirement. IELTS Ready provides free IELTS mock tests after registration. Kaplan Test Prep is another freemium option with web and mobile apps.

Verdict

Choose GregMat if you want an affordable, structured route into GRE study, or a focused GMAT or TOEFL plan, with classes and a free starting point for exploration. Its combination of study plans, practice and live instruction is the main reason to choose it; limited exam coverage, manual timing for approved breaks and the absence of a score guarantee are sound reasons to look elsewhere.
