Overview

Goodloading uses algorithms to propose cargo arrangements, calculates space use and shows the result in 3D for manual adjustment. It supports cubic loads, barrels and pipes, as well as semi-trailers, double trailers, sea and air containers, and pallets. That breadth is useful for operators handling different transport modes, while its weight and obstruction controls make it more relevant than a tool focused only on filling space.

Projects can cover several loading and unloading locations, keeping goods for different stops separate. Users can share plans by link or PDF, with the loading animation and sequence, and enter cargo manually or import CSV and XLSX files. These capabilities make a plan easier to hand off, although collaborator sharing is excluded from the free version.

Key features

Automated planning with manual adjustment: Automatic load distribution, space-use calculations and vehicle or container recommendations help establish a starting plan; 3D editing lets users refine it. This suits teams that want algorithmic assistance without giving up control over the arrangement.
Operational constraints: Planning can account for axle loads, permissible total weight, container center of gravity, wheel arches and cooling units. These controls matter when a volume-efficient layout would not be enough to meet transport or cargo-space requirements. Axle-load planning is unavailable in the free version.
Stops and cargo separation: Multistop projects can keep loads for different destinations apart, a practical benefit for deliveries with several loading or unloading locations. The free version excludes multiple vehicle stops.
Sharing and file handling: Link and PDF sharing includes an animation and loading sequence, while CSV and XLSX imports reduce the need to enter every load individually. Teams relying on shared projects should account for the free plan's collaborator-sharing exclusion.
API integration: A RESTful API can connect Goodloading with TMS, WMS, ERP and route-planning systems. Verified integration applicants can test all API features with 300 requests per month and full technical support. Requests require authorization and an access_token in the header, so this route is aimed at integration work rather than casual use.

Pricing

The Freemium plan is free and includes default load and cargo-space dimensions. It excludes palletization, oval loads and axle loads, and the broader free-version limits also rule out custom load dimensions, angled rotation, multiple vehicle stops, advanced container details and collaborator sharing. It can serve users assessing basic arrangements, but teams that depend on those controls will need another option or a paid plan.

Goodloading also offers a 7-day trial. No paid-plan price is provided, so readers needing capabilities beyond the free version should expect custom pricing rather than assume a monthly rate. The listed free-plan price is not per seat, and no seat or usage quota is given for it.

Platforms

Goodloading runs in a browser and supports Linux and macOS computers, with API access for connected systems. Mobile users can view saved projects but cannot edit them, which makes the service a poor fit for teams that need to revise load plans from a phone or tablet. The privacy policy says SSL encryption is used and personal-data access is limited to personnel who need it and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Who it's for

Goodloading suits road, sea and air transport companies, freight forwarders, logistics operators, manufacturers, stores, software providers and educational institutions. It is particularly compelling for organizations coordinating mixed cargo, constrained vehicle or container spaces, or multistop deliveries. Smaller operations with straightforward loads can start on the free plan; teams needing axle-load checks, detailed container settings, shared collaboration or mobile editing should look elsewhere or assess a paid arrangement.

Users can report problems by form or email, and the company offers online demonstrations. Those options are useful for onboarding and support, though they do not change the free plan's feature exclusions.

Pros and cons

Pro: Broad cargo and space support, including trailers, air and sea containers, pallets, barrels and pipes, suits varied transport operations.
Pro: 3D manual adjustment complements automated distribution and space-use calculations, giving users a way to refine suggested layouts.
Pro: Multistop planning, load sequencing and API integration support operational handoffs and connections to logistics systems.
Con: The free version excludes axle loads, multiple stops, angled rotation, palletization and collaborator sharing, limiting its usefulness for complex or team-based workflows.
Con: Mobile access is view-only, so users cannot edit projects while away from a computer.
Con: The paid-plan price is custom pricing, making cost assessment less direct for buyers who need advanced controls.

Alternatives

ALPHA LOADING is another freemium choice with free plans and a one-year renewable Education licence at no cost for teachers and students, up to 30 accounts per class.
Choose LoadOptimizer.ai if its listed Standard plan at 39.99 EUR per month for unlimited AI optimizations, or Pro at 99.99 EUR per month with REST API access, better matches your needs.
MAXCUBE offers a free Basic plan with one packing computation per day, up to one container, 2,000 cargo items and three SKU types; it may suit users whose needs fit those specific caps.
CargoLoader3D is an alternative.
LoadingMCP has a free browser-based 3D planner and compliance verdict without login or card, making it worth considering for users who want to begin without account setup.
PalletPlan offers a free 3D planner with auto-pack, PNG export and one saved plan; its Team annual plan is 7.99 USD per year with a three-seat minimum.
ContainerMath provides a one-time free trial of four calculations, with no credit card required, and covers 50 road, rail and sea vessel types with interactive 3D and 2D plans.
LOP offers a permanent free tier limited to three plans per month, one container and 20 items per plan, one seat and no exports; it may suit users whose work stays within those limits.

Verdict

Goodloading is a strong fit for transport and logistics teams that need visual planning across varied cargo spaces, with weight and physical constraints, multistop handling and integration potential. Its free plan makes basic evaluation accessible, but the missing axle-load planning, collaboration and other advanced controls are material drawbacks, and mobile editing is unavailable. Choose it when those planning capabilities justify assessing custom pricing; look elsewhere if free access must cover complex constraints or teams need to edit on mobile.
