Overview

Save My Exams is an online revision platform for students preparing for GCSE, IGCSE, A Level, IB, AP, AS and O Level exams. It is best for learners who want course-aligned notes and exam practice alongside tools to direct their revision. Its mix of materials and study support is useful, but check that it covers your subject and qualification before relying on it.

Key features

The library brings together revision notes, exam questions and answers, past papers, mark schemes, flashcards and downloadable PDFs. Qualified teachers and examiners write the notes, questions and mark schemes, and at least two Curriculum Experts review content before publication. Resources are matched to exam-board specifications wherever possible, though coverage varies by subject and qualification. That breadth can support a full revision routine, but it does not guarantee a match for every course.

Smart Mark, Revision Note Chat, Exam Question Chat, Guided Study and Guided Practice provide AI-assisted study tools. Target Tests and strengths-and-weaknesses analysis can help students focus on areas that need work, while the Study Planner offers a way to organise revision. These features suit learners who benefit from structure and targeted practice; the cheaper plans do not include the full set.

Teachers can use Test Builder to create tests from past-exam and expert-written questions, with filters for topic and difficulty. This gives the service a classroom use as well as an individual study role. Free accounts can download past papers and mark schemes, but model answers cannot be downloaded or edited, an important limit for students who want to annotate answers offline.

The company says its site uses HTTPS, does not store passwords in plain text, and routes payment card fields through Stripe. Save My Exams Limited is the data controller for savemyexams.com, with a registered office in London. Customer support is available by email Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm UK time.

Pricing

Save My Exams uses a freemium model and offers a free trial. Free costs 0.00 USD per free and provides selected resources and features, with limited revision materials. It is a reasonable way to explore the service, but not a substitute for full access.

Essential costs 8.00 USD per month, billed Billed at $96 per year. It includes Basic Test Builder, Revision Notes, Exam Questions, Mock Exams and Smart Chat. This is the lower-cost paid option for students who want core practice and chat tools, but it omits the full Test Builder, downloads, the strengths-and-weaknesses tracker, answer feedback and guided practice.

Premium costs 16.00 USD per month, billed Billed at $192 per year. It includes everything in Essential, plus Full Test Builder, downloads, strengths and weaknesses tracker, answer feedback and guided practice. It is the stronger fit for students who will use feedback and targeted practice, or teachers needing full test-building capability. Premium monthly, Premium three-monthly and Premium annual also offer full access to Premium resources at custom pricing.

Platforms

Save My Exams is available on web, Android and iOS. Offline access is supported, which can help when studying away from a connection, although model answers remain unavailable for download or editing on free accounts.

Who it's for

Students across the listed school qualifications can use it for syllabus-focused notes, question practice and revision planning, provided their subject and exam board are covered. It is particularly suitable for learners who want practice tools as well as reference material. Teachers may value the ability to assemble filtered tests. It is less suitable as a sole revision source when a course is not covered, or when a free user needs downloadable model answers.

Pros and cons

Pros: Notes, questions, past papers, flashcards and PDFs sit alongside planning and targeted-practice tools, so students can combine reference and practice.
Pros: Teacher-written and examiner-written content receives review by at least two Curriculum Experts, while Test Builder serves classroom assessment as well as independent revision.
Cons: Coverage varies by subject and qualification, so students need to confirm their course fit.
Cons: Free accounts cannot download or edit model answers, and Essential excludes several of Premium's feedback and practice features.

Alternatives

For a different mix of exam practice and video resources, ExamSolutions offers videos, sample quizzes, past papers and a solution bank; its free plan caps AxiAI markings at 5 per month for each of practice questions, guided courses and papers.

SparkNotes is a better fit for readers focused on study guides: its free plan includes all study guides without sign-up, while SparkNotes PLUS Monthly costs 5.99 USD per month, billed + tax, for ad-free access and PLUS study tools. For making and using flashcards, Cram offers custom card creation, hints, image uploads, access to 7+ million sets and mobile/desktop sync on its free plan.

MathsGenie may suit students who want past papers and mark schemes across subjects and exam boards; its free plan provides 20 energy a week, while Pro (12 months) has custom pricing and unlimited energy. Revision Village offers a free subset of topics within a course, Discord community access, mobile app access and dedicated support for one course.

ZNotes is another free option, with 200+ syllabus-aligned notes, 3000+ chapter-wise quiz questions, limited monthly AI tools and unlimited PDF downloads. Cognito offers free access and a Pro plan at 9.99 GBP per month, which removes weekly caps on flashcards and exam questions. Study Rocket is free to use, forever.

Verdict

Save My Exams is a strong choice for students who want exam-focused materials, targeted practice and revision planning in one service, and for teachers who need to build topic-specific tests. Its main advantage is that breadth; its main reason to look elsewhere is the variable course coverage, compounded for free users by the model-answer download restriction. Confirm your syllabus is covered and choose a plan that includes the tools you will actually use.
