Overview

GymKonex serves gyms, CrossFit boxes, martial arts academies, yoga and Pilates studios, HIIT studios and personal trainers. It goes beyond class booking with member administration, recurring billing, entry control and sales tools, so it is better suited to operators seeking a shared system than to those who only need a workout app.

Multi-location tools bring reports, member records and pricing together across branches. That can help operators maintain consistency as they expand, though the plan capacities still determine how many locations, staff and members they can accommodate.

Key features

Members, classes and entry

Member profiles sit alongside class schedules, capacity limits and automated waitlists. This combination helps studios manage both reservations and oversubscribed sessions. GymKonex can connect membership status to compatible ZKTeco standalone and web-based controllers, granting or suspending entry as status changes. That is useful for facilities with supported hardware, but less relevant to operators using another access system.

Billing and commerce

Recurring credit-card and SEPA direct-debit billing includes payment retries and configurable dunning notifications. Those tools can reduce manual follow-up when payments fail. The eCommerce shop and POS cover merchandise, supplements, digital plans, product variants, stock alerts and PDF invoices, giving operators a way to manage retail alongside memberships rather than in a separate workflow.

Member apps and security

White-label native iOS and Android apps include QR entry, booking calendars and push notifications. For a business that wants a branded member experience, that is a meaningful extension of the operations platform; organizations that do not need their own app may find this breadth less important.

GymKonex says data in transit is protected with TLS 1.2 or newer and stored customer data with AES-256 encryption. It backs up data daily across multiple geographic locations and says it will send breach notices without undue delay, where feasible within 72 hours. Paid tiers include 24/7 support; responses typically arrive within a few hours on business days and within 24 hours on weekends.

Pricing

GymKonex offers a free plan and a 14-day free trial without a credit card. The trial gives prospective customers a way to evaluate the service before paying, while the paid plans range from a small annual tier to higher-capacity monthly options.

Starter: 149.99 XAF per year, with 1 location, 5 staff accounts and 50 members. This low-capacity annual option may suit a small operation, but the 50-member limit leaves little room for a growing roster.
Starter plan: 15000.00 XAF per month, with 5 staff members, 150 members and 1 gym room. This increases the member allowance substantially over the annual Starter tier, but still limits a single room.
Business plan: 25000.00 XAF per month, with 15 staff members, 300 members and 1 gym room. It fits a larger single-room operation that needs more staff and member capacity, but not a multi-room setup.
Premium plan: 50000.00 XAF per month, with 30 staff members, 500 members and 3 gym rooms. Its higher caps make it a better fit for a larger facility or one with several rooms.
Enterprise plan: 150000.00 XAF per month, with 150 staff members, 2000 members and 10 gym rooms. This is the tier for operators with substantial staffing and capacity needs; smaller businesses would be paying for headroom they may not use.

The increasing member, staff and room allowances are the central distinction between paid plans. Choose based on the busiest location's actual needs and expected growth; the entry-level option's 50-member cap is especially restrictive compared with the monthly tiers.

Platforms

GymKonex is available on the web and on Android and iOS. The native mobile apps provide the member-facing QR entry, booking and notification features.

Who it's for

GymKonex is best for fitness operators who want membership, billing, scheduling and facility access under one roof, particularly those using compatible ZKTeco controllers or managing multiple branches. Its branded apps and retail tools also suit businesses that want members to book and buy through the same service. It is less suitable for a small club that needs only simple class booking or cannot work within the plan's member and room limits.

Pros and cons

Pros: Member, class, billing and retail functions share one platform, reducing the need to coordinate separate systems.
Pros: Automated waitlists, payment retries and dunning notifications address common scheduling and collections tasks.
Pros: Multi-location reporting, shared member records and synchronized pricing support consistent branch operations.
Pros: White-label iOS and Android apps include QR entry and booking calendars for a branded member experience.
Cons: The annual Starter tier is capped at 50 members, which may make it a short-lived fit for a growing gym.
Cons: Monthly tiers still restrict room counts, with the Starter and Business plans limited to one room.
Cons: Entry control depends on integration with ZKTeco controllers, limiting its appeal to facilities with other access hardware.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison of branded fitness app options, see Gym App Builder Software.

My PT Hub is worth considering for personal trainers who need client and workout management; its Starter plan costs 22.50 USD per month when billed annually and paid monthly, and its free trial is available without a free plan.

ABC Trainerize may suit coaches who want a free entry point: its Basic plan is free and includes one client seat, though that single-client limit is narrow for a growing business.

PushPress is an alternative for operators prioritizing a free gym-management tier: its Free plan has no monthly fees and supports unlimited leads, admins, members and staff, with card and ACH transaction fees.

SharkFit is another option to consider for gyms seeking branded member and coach apps, with business pricing quoted per gym.

Gym360 App Studio may fit businesses seeking a lower-cost paid app studio, with a Lite plan at 20.00 USD per month per site, though branded apps are not included at that tier.

Gymkee is an alternative paid platform with a Starter annual plan at 28.00 USD per year for up to five active clients, a much smaller client scope than GymKonex's gym-oriented tiers.

FitBudd is a paid option for trainers starting with a small client roster: its Starter plan costs 15.00 USD per month for two clients, with an additional charge for each client above that.

GymViz may suit a single branch seeking ZKTeco access and member management; its Starter plan costs 99.00 USD per month and supports up to 500 members.

Verdict

GymKonex is a strong choice for fitness businesses that want to coordinate members, payments, classes, retail and access, especially multi-branch operators and facilities using ZKTeco hardware. Its main draw is operational breadth paired with member-facing branded apps; its main reason to look elsewhere is the sharp capacity limits on lower tiers and the hardware-specific access integration.
