Overview

The service says its index covers more than 50 million hashtags across 15 niches. Its 0–100 difficulty score draws on post volume and engagement concentration, while weekly growth rates flag tags gaining momentum. These measures help creators weigh competition and timing rather than choose tags on popularity alone, but they do not establish whether a tag fits a particular audience.

HashtagsForLikes also analyzes public Instagram accounts, stores named hashtag campaigns, and supports composing posts for Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter. The company says it does not collect, access, or store Instagram or TikTok credentials, follower lists, private messages, or social content. That is a useful boundary for cautious users; publishing still has to happen through each platform’s native app.

Key features

Research and scoring

Difficulty scores make hashtag discovery more selective: creators can consider how crowded a tag is alongside its relevance. Weekly growth data adds a timing signal for spotting rising tags before they peak. Used together, the measures offer practical context, not a promise of reach or engagement.

Campaigns and profile analysis

Campaign Manager saves named hashtag sets for reuse and lets users copy them in one click. That favors repeatable workflows, such as keeping separate sets for recurring content themes. Profile tracking examines public Instagram accounts and identifies tags used by their top posts, a useful way to study visible competitors without access to private account data.

AI and scheduling

Pro users can describe a post or upload an image to generate a tailored hashtag set. The scheduler lets users compose for Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter, but hands off publishing to the native apps. That makes it a planning aid rather than a complete publishing system.

Security and support

The company says it uses TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest, access controls, and regular security audits. Its privacy policy names Stripe, AWS, Postmark, and Mixpanel as service providers. The FAQ says the team aims to respond to email questions within 24 hours. These safeguards and the stated account-access boundary may reassure creators, though users still need to judge whether the named providers suit their privacy requirements.

Pricing

The free plan is billed $0/month and allows 10 hashtag searches per day, full results with difficulty scores, Instagram and TikTok support, one-click copying, and five saved campaigns. It is a workable way to explore the research workflow, but the daily cap constrains frequent publishing or research.

Pro costs $19/month. It removes the search limit and adds advanced analytics and trends, difficulty and weekly growth scoring, unlimited saved campaigns, AI suggestions, priority support, and tracking for five profiles. This is the clearest fit for an individual creator who uses research regularly; the free tier gives up unlimited searches, AI, advanced analytics, and profile tracking.

Agency costs $49/month and includes everything in Pro, five team seats, unlimited profile tracking, white-label CSV reports, API access, and a dedicated account manager. Those additions suit teams needing shared access, reporting, or API integration; for one user, the extra seat and reporting features may not justify the higher price.

A 7-day trial is offered. Subscriptions can be cancelled in account settings, but cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period and unused time is not prorated.

Platforms

HashtagsForLikes is available on web and through an API. Its research focuses on Instagram and TikTok, while the scheduler also supports composing posts for Twitter. Since publication runs through each network’s native app, it does not provide direct posting from the scheduler.

Who it's for

HashtagsForLikes is a good fit for creators who want data to guide hashtag selection, save repeatable sets, or study public Instagram profiles. The free plan suits occasional research; Pro is more appropriate for regular solo use, and Agency makes sense when a small team needs multiple seats, reporting, or API access.

It is less suitable for people who need direct publishing, broader social listening, or a workflow that avoids a daily search cap without paying. Its narrow focus is an advantage for hashtag work, but not a substitute for a full social management or monitoring platform.

Pros and cons

Pros: Difficulty and weekly growth scoring add competition and timing context to hashtag discovery.
Pros: Campaigns can be saved and copied, while public-profile analysis supports competitor research.
Pros: The company says it does not collect or store Instagram or TikTok credentials or private account data.
Cons: Free users are limited to 10 searches per day, so active research points toward a paid plan.
Cons: The scheduler does not publish directly; users must finish in the native app.
Cons: Pro tracks only five profiles, while unlimited tracking requires the $49/month Agency plan.

Alternatives

Verdict

Choose HashtagsForLikes if hashtag research, reusable campaigns, and Instagram profile analysis are central to your creator workflow, especially if you want to avoid sharing social credentials. Pro is the sensible step up for regular research, while Agency is aimed at teams that will use its seats, reports, or API. Look elsewhere if direct publishing or broader social listening matters more than focused hashtag analysis.
