Overview

Safesite combines day-to-day safety activity with tools for tracking compliance. Teams can record inspections, meetings, hazards, observations, equipment checks, and incidents, while managers get a dashboard for leading indicators and compliance reporting. That makes it a broader fit than a checklist-only tool, particularly when field records need to feed into ongoing program oversight.

Key features

Inspections and corrective work

Users can schedule and track inspections, create safety tasks, raise hazards, and use or customize compliance checklists. This supports recurring work rather than one-off documentation. Corrective actions, safety training, and hazard assessments are also supported, giving safety teams ways to capture more than inspection results alone.

Incidents and program oversight

Incident reports can capture information, notify stakeholders, and be added to an OSHA log. The dashboard adds leading-indicator analytics, a Safesite Score, and compliance reporting. Together, these functions help connect field activity to management review; the free plan’s 30-day reporting limit, however, restricts how far back teams can review reporting without upgrading.

Offline work, language, and security

Safesite says core features work offline and saved work syncs automatically when connectivity returns, which suits sites where internet access is intermittent. The app supports English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. Safesite says customer data is encrypted in transit with TLS/SSL and at rest in its AWS-hosted database, and that independent security researchers conduct ongoing penetration testing, security scans, and threat detection for its application and API.

Pricing

Safesite uses a freemium model, with a 30-day trial and paid plans starting at $16/user/mo. The free plan is free and allows unlimited members and guests, but reporting is restricted to the last 30 days. It is a sensible way to begin recording safety activity, but teams that need older reporting or broader oversight will outgrow that cap.

Premium costs 16.00 USD per month, billed per member, per month. It offers monthly or annual billing, with a 20% discount for annual billing. Premium adds unrestricted reporting, group reporting, and an OSHA 300 recordable incident log. It fits organizations that need historical or group-level reporting; per-member billing means the cost rises with the number of members.

Insurance Services has custom pricing: it includes Premium features alongside workers’ compensation, with customers directed to ask their broker about Foresight. The plan is for teams seeking that insurance offering as well as the software features.

Platforms

Safesite is available on Android, iOS, and the web. The mobile app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, and a browser-based mobile interface is also available. An organization administrator must first create an account through the desktop portal before mobile users can join projects. Users outside the US, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico cannot download the app from app stores and are directed to the browser interface instead.

Support is offered in English and Spanish. Free accounts receive support for their first 30 days, while Premium and Enterprise subscribers receive ongoing premium support.

Who it's for

Safesite suits organizations that need to coordinate recurring safety work, document incidents, and connect field records to compliance reporting. Offline operation is useful for teams in low-connectivity sites, while the free plan offers a way to start without subscription costs. It is less suitable for teams that need unrestricted reporting at no cost, or whose mobile users depend on app-store access outside the supported countries.

Pros and cons

Broad safety coverage: Inspections, meetings, hazards, observations, equipment checks, incident reports, corrective actions, training, and hazard assessments can be handled in one platform.
Field-friendly offline use: Core features work offline, with saved work syncing when connectivity returns.
Useful free entry point: Unlimited members and guests can use the free plan, though reporting reaches back only 30 days.
Mobile onboarding requires a desktop administrator: Organizations must create an account through the desktop portal before mobile users can join projects.
App-store limits by region: New users outside the US, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico must use the browser interface rather than download the app.

Alternatives

For projects where subcontractor access is central, consider HammerTech: subcontractors can use it free through the general contractor managing the project, though the main plan has custom pricing.

Donesafe is an alternative for organizations seeking a paid platform with custom pricing based on application modules, worker count, and support services. EHS Insight may suit small and medium businesses looking for a cloud-based solution with offline mobile capabilities, dashboards, reports, and quick implementation.

Intelex Inspection Management is worth considering for organizations able to meet its 25-user minimum and annual billing: Safety Essentials costs 44.00 USD per year and includes incident management with near-miss reporting and action planning.

Safe365, Safety Evolution, EcoOnline, and HCSS are other paid alternatives.

Verdict

Safesite is a strong fit for organizations that want field safety workflows, incident records, offline use, and compliance reporting under one roof. Its free plan lowers the barrier to starting, while Premium removes the reporting window and adds group reporting and an OSHA 300 log. Look elsewhere if unlimited historical reporting is essential on a free plan, or if your team requires app-store downloads in a region where Safesite does not provide them.
