Overview

Knit is an integration platform for SaaS teams, workflow owners, and engineers connecting AI agents to business apps. Its strongest case is bringing a normalized API, generated workflows, and managed-auth MCP servers together; the right fit depends on which product and its limits match your workload.

The three offerings solve different problems. The Unified API targets B2B software teams that need normalized read and write access plus two-way syncs. The Integrations Agent turns plain-English workflow descriptions into custom code that can be deployed and monitored, making it the most approachable route for non-technical teams. MCP servers give AI agents managed-auth access to more than 190 apps without customer-managed infrastructure.

The connector directory lists 194 apps across HRIS, ATS, CRM, accounting, email, and ticketing, including Salesforce, HubSpot, QuickBooks, Workday, BambooHR, Asana, Gmail, and Jira. Knit says it does not store end-user data on its servers, encrypts data at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3, and complies with SOC 2, GDPR, and ISO 27001. Processing residency is supported in the US, EU, and India.

Key features

Unified API

Normalized data models and read/write access reduce the need to handle every product connection as a separate interface. Two-way syncs make it useful when connected systems need to exchange updates in both directions. Capacity is the key constraint: Start Up allows 100K API calls per month and syncs every 24 hours, while Scale Up raises that to 1M calls and configurable sync frequency. The slower Start Up cadence is a poor match for products that need more frequent synchronization.

Integrations Agent

Describing a workflow in plain English and receiving custom integration code lowers the barrier for teams that do not want to author each connection from scratch. Deployment and monitoring as workflows provide a path beyond generating code alone. The trade-off is metered capacity: the Free plan allows 500 usage credits and 200 AI credits monthly, three active workflows, three connected accounts, and a 15-minute trigger frequency. Starter increases those allowances, but still caps usage and connections.

MCP servers

Managed authentication across a large app set can spare AI engineering teams from running their own infrastructure for those connections. The free Launchpad tier permits up to five servers but only 100 API calls per month; Individual allows unlimited servers and 5K calls monthly. That makes the free tier useful for a small evaluation, not a high-volume deployment.

Workflow and integration controls

Knit supports code-based workflow building, custom connectors, and webhook triggers. These give teams routes for extending integrations and initiating workflows from events, though the applicable credit, call, and trigger limits still determine how far a plan can go.

Pricing

Knit uses a freemium model, with a free plan, paid plans from $29/mo, and a 30-day trial. Its offerings have separate plan structures, so compare the allowance for the product you intend to use rather than treating a price as universal.

Plan	Price	What it includes	Best suited to
Free (Integrations Agent)	0.00 USD per free	500 usage credits/month, 3 active workflows, 200 AI credits/month, 3 connected accounts, 7-day run history, 15-minute trigger frequency, community support	Trying a few workflows with modest activity
Starter (Integrations Agent)	29.00 USD per month, billed monthly	800 usage credits/month, 10 active workflows, 400 AI credits/month, 5 connected accounts, 2 premium apps, 30-day run history, 5-minute trigger frequency, email support	Small workflow deployments needing more accounts and quicker triggers
Free	0.00 USD per free	500 usage credits/month, 3 active workflows, 3 connected accounts, 7-day run history	Basic evaluation of the workflow product
Starter	29.00 USD per month, billed monthly	800 usage credits/month, 10 active workflows, 5 connected accounts, 30-day run history	Small deployments that can work within capped credits and connections
Professional	99.00 USD per month, billed monthly	2,200 usage credits/month, unlimited active workflows and connected accounts, 90-day run history	Teams that need more workflows and accounts than Starter permits
Unified API Start Up	499.00 USD per month, billed monthly	100K API calls/month, unlimited data usage, 3 test accounts, 3-day log retention; 24-hour sync frequency	Products with moderate call volume that can tolerate daily syncs
Unified API Scale Up	Custom pricing	1M API calls/month, unlimited data usage, 3 test accounts, 30-day log retention; configurable sync frequency	Higher-volume products needing control over sync cadence
Unified API Enterprise	Custom pricing	Contract-based API calls, unlimited data usage and test accounts, 90-day log retention	Organizations needing negotiated call capacity and more test accounts
Launchpad (MCP Servers)	0.00 USD per free	Up to 5 servers, 100 API calls/month, remote MCP servers, create your own MCP server	Small MCP evaluations
Individual (MCP Servers)	29.00 USD per month, billed monthly	5K API calls/month, unlimited MCP servers, chat support	Individual developers needing more server capacity

The cheaper tiers trade capacity and history for a low entry point: Free Agent access is limited to three workflows and accounts, while Starter has 800 monthly credits and five accounts. Professional removes workflow and account caps but retains a 2,200-credit allowance. For MCP, $29 buys unlimited servers but not unlimited calls. Unified API Start Up is substantially more expensive than the other named paid tiers, and its 24-hour sync cadence is an important limitation; Scale Up and Enterprise require custom pricing. Support varies by plan, ranging from community and email to priority, dedicated, Slack, and on-call options.

Platforms

Knit lists Android, iOS, web, and API platforms. The API is central to its integration offering; the mobile and web platform listings broaden where users can access the product, though the available feature descriptions are focused on APIs, workflows, and MCP servers.

Who it's for

Knit is most compelling for B2B SaaS teams seeking normalized product integrations, non-technical teams that can express workflows in plain language, and AI engineering teams that need managed-auth connections to business apps. It is less suitable when the required call volume, sync cadence, or number of connected accounts exceeds a chosen tier's allowance, or when an upfront custom-priced plan is not acceptable.

Pros and cons

Pros

Three distinct integration approaches: teams can choose a Unified API, generated workflow code, or managed-auth MCP servers rather than forcing every use case into one model.
Broad connector coverage: 194 listed apps span major business categories, including CRM, HRIS, accounting, email, and ticketing.
Useful security and residency provisions: stated encryption, compliance, and US, EU, and India processing residency address concerns relevant to business integrations.
Free entry points: separate no-cost tiers let teams assess the workflow and MCP offerings before paying.

Cons

Limits differ across products: credits and connected accounts for workflows do not translate directly to API-call allowances for MCP or the Unified API, so buyers must match the plan to the specific product.
Entry tiers are constrained: free workflows allow only three active workflows and accounts, and free MCP access is capped at 100 calls monthly.
Unified API Start Up has a slow sync cadence: 24-hour frequency may not suit products that need timely updates.
Higher Unified API plans use custom pricing: teams cannot budget Scale Up or Enterprise from a published monthly price.

Alternatives

Consider Nango if its free allowance of 10 connections, 10 hours of compute per month, and 10GB of data transfer fits better than Knit’s product-specific workflow and call quotas. Celigo may suit a team whose needs fit its free plan of two endpoints, one flow, and one production environment. Choose Windmill when its free and open-source plan's three workspaces, 50 users, and 10 GiB object storage are a better match.

Google Cloud Application Integration is an alternative for teams whose workload fits its free tier of up to 400 integration executions and 20 GiB processed per month. Apache NiFi is a free-to-download, self-hosted option under the Apache License, Version 2.0, without a stated commercial plan or usage limits. Oracle Integration is another option, with paid plans and a free trial.

Workato Agent Studio may fit teams that want its free 50,000 one-time credits and AI and agentic capabilities. WSO2 Integrator is worth considering for a paid platform with a 30-day free trial and trial allowances that include five integrations and up to 1M transactions.

Verdict

Choose Knit if you need one of its three focused paths: normalized integrations for a SaaS product, generated workflows for a less technical team, or managed-auth MCP access for AI agents. Its broad connector directory and free starting points make it approachable, but its separate quotas and the Unified API's custom-priced higher tiers demand careful plan selection. Look elsewhere if your required sync speed or volume does not fit those limits, or if you need predictable pricing for higher API capacity.
