Overview

OfficialTMS is a transportation platform for trucking operations that need to coordinate dispatch, loads, drivers, and fleet work. It is most compelling for teams that want dispatch and back-office tasks in one portal, with a driver app as their operation grows. The free portal makes it possible to start without a subscription, while the paid plan’s per-vehicle pricing can add up for fleets with many trailers.

Key features

AI load creation reads emailed rate confirmations or PDFs, extracts load information, and prepares a draft for review. Keeping dispatch approval in the workflow is useful for reducing repetitive entry without treating extracted data as ready to send automatically. The web portal’s dispatch board connects load coordination with confirmations, proof of delivery, customer paperwork, and invoicing, making it a broader operations tool than a dispatch board alone.

The mobile app gives drivers trip details, document uploads, payroll tracking, notifications, and a way to communicate with dispatch. Fleet modules cover maintenance, driver expenses, compliance and ELD, and multi-stop routing. OfficialTMS says it syncs Samsara ELD, GPS, hours-of-service logs, and vehicle data, and provides a Telegram bot for forwarding Samsara alerts to drivers. That combination may suit fleets already using Samsara; custom ERP and TMS integrations are reserved for Enterprise.

The vendor claims SOC 2 certification and describes encrypted workflows, private operational data, and role-based access. It advertises 24/7 support through phone, email, and WhatsApp. These are relevant assurances for teams handling operational and driver information, though they do not replace an organization’s own security review.

Pricing

Portal Only costs 0.00 USD per month and includes full web portal access, 1-year rolling data backup, and 24/7 support. It is a sensible starting point for a dispatcher or team that wants the web workflow without the mobile app. The plan does not include the driver app, so it is less suitable when drivers need to manage trips and upload paperwork from the field.

With Mobile App costs 17.00 USD per month billed annually, or $20/mo if monthly, per truck or trailer. It includes unlimited portal users and five-year data backup with annual billing. Extra trailers beyond the truck count cost $8/trailer/mo annually ($10 monthly). This is the practical choice for fleets that need driver tools, but per-truck or trailer billing means costs scale with equipment, not office seats. Monthly billing also includes only the one-year rolling backup described for Portal Only; extended backup is listed at $5/month with monthly billing.

Enterprise has custom pricing for multi-terminal carriers, freight brokers, and larger teams. It adds custom modifications and integrations plus a dedicated account manager, so it is the appropriate route for operations that need tailored systems or centralized support rather than a standard per-vehicle plan.

Platforms

OfficialTMS supports web, Android, iOS, and API access. The web portal and mobile apps cover office and driver workflows, while API availability gives integrations a place in the platform’s deployment picture.

Who it's for

Owner-operators and small trucking companies can start with the free portal, while dispatch teams and mid-sized fleets may benefit from combining the board, paperwork, driver app, and fleet modules. Multi-branch operations, brokers, and teams needing custom connections are better matched to Enterprise. Organizations that only need a basic dispatch workflow, or that cannot justify per-vehicle charges for mobile access, should compare other options.

Pros and cons

Pros: A free web portal includes full portal access and support, giving dispatch teams a way to adopt the core workflow without a subscription.
Pros: The mobile plan combines driver tools with unlimited portal users, so office seats do not create an additional charge under that plan.
Pros: Loads, documents, invoicing, driver operations, and fleet modules are brought together, which can reduce the need to split those workflows across tools.
Cons: Mobile pricing is per truck or trailer, and additional trailers incur a separate fee, which can make the plan less attractive for trailer-heavy fleets.
Cons: Backup coverage differs by billing choice: Portal Only has one-year rolling backup, while five-year backup is included with annual mobile billing.
Cons: Enterprise pricing is custom, making it harder for larger teams to compare total cost before discussing their requirements.

Alternatives

For a broader dispatch-tool comparison, start with Dispatch Management Software.

ServiceM8 is a freemium alternative with a free plan for one user and 30 jobs per month, and supports Android, iOS, and macOS. It may suit a small service operation that needs a tightly capped free tier rather than trucking-specific fleet workflows.

Roldesk offers a free plan with one office and one mobile seat, work orders, dispatch board, scheduler, and a technician app with offline access, photos, time, and signature. Consider it when field-service work orders and a technician workflow are a closer fit than trucking fleet operations.

Resgrid has a free plan for up to 10 entities in the US-West/North America region, with push notifications and email but no SMS. Its broad platform support includes self-hosted and desktop options; choose it if those deployment choices and the entity cap align better with your needs.

Dispatchable has a free-for-life Starter plan. It is another option to compare if a free dispatch product is the priority.

FieldAware is a paid alternative with a free trial.

Infor Learning Management System is a paid alternative with a free trial.

CrowdCAD offers a free self-hosted/web Lite Mode with core dispatch, but excludes shared events, multiple dispatchers, venue maps, custom venues, interface customization, and broader administrative control. It is worth considering when a constrained, self-hosted dispatch workflow is acceptable.

DispatchCore offers a Founding member plan at 39.00 USD per month, with founding-member pricing locked in for life and free access while it is in beta. Compare its terms directly if you are considering that plan.

Verdict

OfficialTMS is a strong fit for trucking businesses that want one system for dispatch, paperwork, drivers, and fleet workflows, especially if they can begin on the free portal and add mobile access where needed. Its main trade-off is the per-truck or trailer cost for mobile use, alongside backup terms that favor annual billing. Look elsewhere if your operation needs a different dispatch model or cannot make the vehicle-based pricing work.
