Overview

Infor offers WFM as a stand-alone product or alongside Infor HCM. It brings labor planning, scheduling, time and attendance, payroll processes, and compliance together, which can help large employers connect staffing decisions to day-to-day operations. Teams with uncomplicated shift patterns may find that scope exceeds their needs.

Infor was founded in 2002 as an ERP software company focused primarily on manufacturing and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. For a wider category view, see Workforce Management Software.

Key features

Forecasting and scheduling

Machine-learning and adaptive models forecast labor demand across horizons from minutes to years, drawing on historical results, planned promotions, and weather information. Scheduling can match staffing to demand, skills, availability, and employee preferences. Coverage optimization, intraday management, rules-based automation, and shift replacement help address changing operational requirements; the range is most relevant when workforce demand and constraints vary across locations or shifts.

Time, attendance, and payroll

WFM captures time in real time, applies complex pay rules, supports time-off requests, and produces audit-ready compliance reports. Payroll close generates an employee pay information export that can be transferred manually or automatically to an organization's payroll system. That export supports payroll workflows, but employers should assess how the handoff fits their payroll processes.

Healthcare staffing and integrations

Infor Clinical Science can calculate staffing workloads from nurse documentation through Clinical Bridge, which integrates with electronic medical records. Infor also documents an HR Talent integration through Infor ION and Business Object Documents, with configurable mappings and transformations. WFM can connect with Infor OS Portal so employees can reach HR and WFM features through Employee Hub. These integrations are useful for organizations building around Infor systems, while their fit with existing HR, payroll, and clinical systems deserves review before adoption.

Infor documents API configuration and setup for the ION API integration. It describes WFM as running on a single secure platform and says its cloud offering uses robust security standards; WFM, including Clinical Science, is among its HIPAA-attested products.

Pricing

Infor Workforce Management: custom pricing. Infor asks prospective customers to contact sales. There is no published plan price or stated seat cap to use for a direct budget comparison, so organizations should request a quote against their workforce size and requirements.

Platforms

WFM supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, Windows, and API access. Mobile WFM is an HTML5 application, with current and previous Android and iOS versions supported; Chrome is supported on Android, while Safari or Chrome is supported on iOS. The Self Service Portal is designed for portrait use on mobile phones and also works on desktop. Supported browsers include Edge Chromium, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari; Safari is certified only on macOS, and Windows 10 and 11 are supported for browsers.

Who it's for

Large employers in healthcare, manufacturing, public sector, and retail are the clearest fit, especially those that need forecasting, complex pay rules, and frontline staffing controls in one platform. Healthcare organizations may also value Clinical Science's nurse workload calculations and HIPAA attestation. Smaller employers with basic scheduling needs, or organizations that need a tightly integrated payroll workflow beyond a pay-information export, should weigh alternatives.

Pros and cons

Pros

Forecasting across operating horizons: demand models span minutes to years and can incorporate historical results, promotions, and weather.
Scheduling controls for complex teams: matching staffing to skills, availability, and preferences, with automation and shift replacement, supports more demanding coverage needs.
Healthcare-specific workload support: Clinical Science can use nurse documentation through an EMR integration to calculate staffing workloads.
Multiple deployment and access options: customers can use WFM alone or with Infor HCM, with mobile, web, desktop, and API support.

Cons

Custom pricing requires a sales conversation: buyers cannot readily compare a published per-user price or plan tiers.
Payroll remains a handoff: the pay information export may be manual or automatic, so organizations should confirm how it works with their payroll system.
Mobile portal orientation is constrained: the Self Service Portal is designed for portrait phone use, which may not suit every mobile workflow.
Integration fit needs validation: documented HR and API integrations are specific to Infor systems and require mapping or setup.

Alternatives

For employee benefits administration, Empyrean, Navia Benefit Solutions, bswift, ADP Help Me Choose, Alight Worklife, Benepass, and Forma are alternatives to consider. Their published descriptions identify benefits-focused platforms rather than a direct substitute for Infor's workforce planning scope.

Zoho People is a freemium HR option with a free plan for up to five users, making it worth considering for a very small team seeking to avoid a paid starting plan. Its listed platforms are web, iOS, and Android.

Verdict

Infor Workforce Management is a strong candidate for large frontline employers that need demand forecasting, intricate scheduling, timekeeping, and compliance controls under one roof, especially those already using Infor systems. Its main reason to choose is the combination of long-range planning and operational scheduling, with additional healthcare staffing capabilities. Look elsewhere if your operation is small, if you need transparent published pricing, or if your payroll and HR stack cannot accommodate the documented integration and export approach.
