Overview

WEX FSM brings contractor work from scheduling and dispatch through invoicing and payment into one platform, with Android, iOS, and web access. Its technician app and offline mode address field work, while customer records can preserve service history, notes, attachments, and contacts across multiple locations. The company says Payzer was acquired by WEX in late 2023 after serving the trades for more than a decade.

Key features

Dispatch, records, and field proposals

Drag-and-drop scheduling, dispatch groups, coverage zones, GIS maps, and technician navigation give dispatchers several ways to organize and route work. This is a strong fit for contractors coordinating jobs across teams and service areas. Technicians can prepare proposals in the field, compare replacement options, and include financing; customer and equipment histories help connect that work to prior service.

Job costing, estimates and invoices, equipment tracking, and service agreements extend the workflow beyond dispatch. Offline mode is useful when connectivity is unreliable, though it does not remove the need to confirm how the chosen plan covers the office-side tools.

Payments and integrations

Payment Options includes card processing, mobile readers, online pay, mobile check imaging, ACH, recurring payments, and multi-lender financing. Customers can pay by email or text link, mobile reader, or entered card or bank information. QuickBooks Online and Desktop sync can connect accounting workflows, but third-party integrations may add fees. Flat-rate pricing features also carry additional costs.

Support and onboarding

Support is available by chat, phone, or email Monday through Friday, 8am–7pm EST. Onboarding includes data cleansing and loading with proprietary ETL tools, team onboarding, and training resources—useful for contractors moving established customer records into a new system.

Pricing

WEX FSM uses a freemium model, with paid plans from $69/mo. The Free plan is free and includes debit and credit card processing, mobile card readers and online payments, multi-lender financing, instant loan applications, mobile check imaging, and ACH. It is a way to start taking payments, not a substitute for the dispatch and scheduling workflow.

Payment Options is billed Free with card and/or financing volume over $25,000/mo; it costs $69/mo if volume is under that threshold. It includes the Free payment features plus recurring payments. Contractors should weigh the volume condition against their expected monthly payment activity.

Enterprise has custom pricing and includes customer appointment notifications, drag-and-drop scheduling, dispatching and navigation, invoicing, job costing, and equipment tracking. It is the more relevant option for teams needing operational tools, but its price should be confirmed before budgeting. Unlimited also has custom pricing and includes unlimited users, making it relevant where seat limits matter. Integration fees and additional costs for flat-rate pricing can affect total spend.

Platforms

WEX FSM supports Android, iOS, and web. Its technician mobile app, navigation, offline mode, and field payment options suit work that moves between office and job site.

Who it's for

WEX FSM is best suited to trade contractors that need dispatch, customer and equipment histories, field proposals, and payment collection in a connected workflow. HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and roofing businesses are its stated audience. A contractor looking only for payment processing can begin with Free; businesses that need dispatch and job costing should consider Enterprise. Those who need a firm total cost upfront should resolve plan pricing and integration charges before choosing.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad contractor workflow: Scheduling, dispatch, proposals, invoicing, job costing, and payment capabilities cover more than payment collection alone.
Field-ready payments: Multiple payment methods, including mobile readers, ACH, and recurring payments, give technicians and customers several ways to settle invoices.
Offline work and onboarding: Offline mode supports field productivity, while data migration and team training can help with adoption.

Cons

Free is limited in scope: Its included capabilities center on payments, not the scheduling and dispatch features contractors may need day to day.
Payment pricing has a threshold: Payment Options is free only above $25,000/mo in card and/or financing volume; below that it costs $69/mo.
Extra costs can accumulate: Third-party integrations and flat-rate pricing features may carry additional fees.

Verdict

Choose WEX FSM if your trade business wants one system spanning dispatch, field proposals, customer histories, and payment collection, especially when technicians need mobile and offline tools. The payment breadth and contractor-oriented workflow are its clearest reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if you need a known full-workflow price before committing or if additional integration and flat-rate costs would undermine your budget.
