Overview

Jobscan is a resume-matching and job-application platform for people tailoring applications to specific openings. It is best for active job seekers who want resume guidance and application tracking in one workflow. Its breadth is useful, but limited free scans make a paid plan more practical for sustained searching.

Key features

The core scanner compares a resume with a job description, identifies the applicant tracking system, and returns a match rate with optimization recommendations. That focus makes Jobscan more useful for role-specific applications than for someone seeking only a general resume builder.

The resume toolkit includes an ATS-friendly builder, scanner, resume generators, and an AI-powered One-Click Optimize editor. Five templates and PDF or DOCX downloads cover standard document needs; LinkedIn documents can also be imported. Free users get the builder, templates, downloads, and limited scans, so the key matching workflow is available to try but not at high volume.

Jobscan also brings personalized job listings, resume tailoring, applications, and tracking together. The Chrome Job Tracker extension can save listings from Indeed, LinkedIn, and Glassdoor, reducing manual entry for people collecting openings across those sites. Auto Apply requires review before each application is sent, keeping a human approval step rather than submitting unseen applications.

Premium users can scan LinkedIn profiles against multiple job descriptions and get advice on headline, summary, experience, and education. Premium also includes unlimited cover-letter scans and an AI generator that uses the job description and resume text. These extras strengthen the case for people refining a complete application package, but are less relevant to applicants who need only occasional resume edits.

Jobscan offers an embeddable widget and custom white-label integrations that may include branding and single sign-on for organizational customers. Its Organizations offering is aimed at higher-education institutions, career coaches, government agencies, nonprofits, and employment organizations. The company says it serves over 10 million job seekers. Its GDPR page provides for requests to access, correct, delete, or export stored data; the website displays WCAG 2.1 AA and ADA compliance notices. Support is available through a Help Center and support@jobscan.co.

Pricing

Jobscan uses a freemium model and advertises a 7-day trial. The Free plan is free and includes the resume builder, ATS-friendly templates, downloads, and limited scans. It suits someone testing the workflow or making occasional applications, but the scan cap is a meaningful constraint for a busy search.

Premium is 49.95 USD per month, billed monthly, with resume optimization, AI Optimize, match-rate insights, LinkedIn optimization, and ATS tips. The separately named Premium Monthly plan is also 49.95 USD per month, billed at $49.95/month, and includes a Match Report, AI Optimize, resume builder, cover letters, LinkedIn tools, Job Tracker, and Auto Apply. These plans are the relevant step up for individuals who need the full application workflow rather than just a builder and occasional scans.

Premium Quarterly costs 89.95 USD per month, with Premium tools billed every three months; it includes resume optimization, AI Optimize, and match-rate insights. Its stated monthly price is lower than the monthly Premium options, but the three-month billing term requires a longer commitment. The general pricing note says paid plans start at $89.95/mo, alongside the 7-day trial.

Coach Monthly is 99.00 USD per month, billed at $99/month, and starts with two client slots. Coach Annual is 999.00 USD per year, billed at $999/year, also starting with two client slots. Additional slots are available, making these plans better suited to coaches managing multiple clients than to individual applicants.

Platforms

Jobscan is available on the web and as an extension. The extension’s job-saving function supports Indeed, LinkedIn, and Glassdoor listings.

Who it's for

Choose Jobscan if you apply to multiple role-specific openings and want matching guidance alongside tracking, LinkedIn optimization, and cover-letter tools. It is less suitable if you need only a simple resume document, or if you expect frequent scans without paying.

Pros and cons

Pro: Resume matching and ATS recommendations target individual job descriptions, helping applicants tailor rather than reuse a generic resume.
Pro: Job tracking, listing capture, LinkedIn advice, and cover-letter tools bring several application tasks into one workflow.
Pro: Auto Apply retains user review before sending, rather than removing the applicant from the final decision.
Con: Free scans are limited, restricting the central matching feature for applicants applying frequently.
Con: The quarterly plan bills every three months, while the coach plans begin with only two client slots and require added slots for larger rosters.

Verdict
