Overview

Langua brings conversation, correction, vocabulary review, and listening content into one service. Learners can practice at any time, choosing roleplays, debates, vocabulary exercises, or conversations shaped around their interests. That range makes it adaptable to different practice goals, though it does not offer the structure of a course organized around set lessons.

Langua says it supports 23 languages, with multiple dialects available for many. Learners can start a conversation without subscribing, but the free plan’s daily speaking time and weekly message allowance are small for anyone aiming to build a daily habit.

Key features

Conversation and feedback

Correction styles and personalized grammar drills can help learners focus on errors, while feedback reports, audio summaries, and transcripts with click-to-translate words support review after a conversation. The combination gives learners several ways to revisit a session; those who want a human tutor or a teacher-led curriculum may want a different approach.

Vocabulary and listening

Learners can save words, review them with spaced-repetition flashcards, and generate stories that use them. Langua also offers level-matched podcasts and videos, and lets learners import their own content with interactive transcripts synchronized to the audio. This is useful for learners who want speaking and listening practice connected to material they care about, though the value of importing content depends on having material to bring.

Pricing

Langua is freemium. The Free plan is free and includes 3 minutes of Call Mode per day and approximately 20 standard chat messages per week. That is enough to try a conversation, but too limited for sustained practice.

Standard and Unlimited are monthly plans with custom pricing. Standard allows up to 75 regular chat messages per day and up to 30 minutes of Call Mode per day, a fit for learners who want a defined daily allowance. Unlimited is marketed as unlimited conversation practice, but its terms set a fair-use allowance of 350 AI chat messages per day. Neither plan’s price is stated.

The Pro trial requires a payment card and lasts 5 days on a monthly plan or 7 days on an annual plan. Check the renewal terms before starting. Customized organization plans start at 500.00 USD per month and are aimed at schools, universities, and companies.

Platforms

Langua is available on web, iOS, and Android, and progress syncs across devices. For web use, Langua recommends Google Chrome because it handles voice technology most reliably.

Who it's for

Langua is a good fit for independent learners who want flexible conversation practice and a way to turn mistakes and new vocabulary into review. It also suits learners who have podcasts, videos, or other material they want to study with synchronized transcripts. The free plan is better for sampling than for a regular routine, while the paid plans suit learners who need more conversation time.

Privacy-conscious learners should know that chat transcripts are stored securely in the account and can be deleted by the user. Voice recordings are not stored unless recording is enabled in Settings. Contracted providers may process conversation content to provide, evaluate, or improve Langua; they are restricted from selling it, using it for advertising, or training shared models for other customers. Langua is intended for users aged 13 and above; ages 13–17 require parental or guardian permission. AI content is moderated, though Langua does not guarantee that all content is appropriate.

Pros and cons

Pros: Several conversation formats, including roleplays and debates, let learners practice beyond scripted prompts.
Pros: Feedback, grammar drills, transcripts, saved vocabulary, and flashcards support review after speaking.
Pros: Imported content with synchronized transcripts can connect listening practice to material the learner chooses.
Cons: The free plan limits Call Mode to 3 minutes a day and standard chats to about 20 messages a week, restricting regular practice.
Cons: Standard and Unlimited have custom pricing, so learners cannot compare their monthly cost from the stated prices.
Cons: The Pro trial requires a card, and its length is only 5 days monthly or 7 days annually.

Alternatives

For more learning-app options, browse AI Tutoring Apps or Language learning apps. Choose Talkpal if its 10-minute daily limit on the free Basic Plan better matches the amount of free practice you need. Aristotle offers voice tutoring across every subject through its free Intro plan, with three one-hour sessions, so it may suit learners looking for broader subject tutoring. AI Tutor has an Android and iOS Starter plan with a 30-minute allowance, one quiz, and one material upload; choose it if those study tools are a closer fit. Brainly, Lucida AI, Synthesis Tutor, LINAOI, and Yapkin are other options to compare.

Verdict

Langua is best for independent language learners who want flexible AI conversation, useful feedback, and vocabulary and listening tools in one place. Its strongest reason to choose it is the path from conversation to review; its main drawbacks are the narrow free allowance and custom pricing for individual paid plans. Look elsewhere if you need a structured course, a clear published subscription price, or substantial free speaking time.
