Overview

TutorHive brings lesson scheduling, student records, homework, invoicing and parent communication into one service. It is not a marketplace for finding tutors or students, so it suits operators who have already built a practice and want to manage its day-to-day work.

The plan boundary is consequential: Free supports only two students and one invoice each month, while Pro removes the student ceiling for one tutor. That makes Free suitable for a very small roster or a limited evaluation of the workflow, not a growing tutoring business.

Key features

Lessons and student records

The calendar supports recurring sessions and is designed to prevent double-booking, which helps tutors keep regular lesson schedules in one place. Student profiles can hold goals, progress notes, attendance and session history, giving tutors a record that spans more than the next appointment. Homework tracking rounds out the core teaching workflow.

Payments and video

TutorHive advertises Stripe and PayPal integrations and says payments go directly to tutors with zero commission. Tutors use their own Zoom, Voov Meeting or ClassIn accounts; TutorHive stores the meeting link and says it does not access or record sessions. That arrangement keeps video calls in tools tutors already use, though it does not replace the need for those accounts.

Parent access and support

The parent portal gives families access to attendance, notes, homework and certificates in 10 languages. It can reduce the need to relay routine updates individually, but it is unavailable on Free. TutorHive advertises human email support with a response within 24 hours and support in 10 languages.

The privacy policy says TutorHive does not sell personal information and addresses GDPR for EU and UK users and CCPA for California residents. It names Stripe, Supabase, Google Analytics, Netlify and Railway among its service providers.

Pricing

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free Forever	Free	Up to 2 students, basic calendar, homework tracker, global holidays and 1 invoice per month
Pro	14.00 USD per month, billed Monthly	Unlimited students for 1 tutor; full scheduling, invoicing and payments; parent portal; booking website; Zoom, Voov and ClassIn integration
Agency	29.00 USD per month, billed Monthly	Up to 25 tutors, everything in Pro, tutor and staff management, payroll tracking, admin dashboard, priority support and custom domain

Free also excludes session packages, the parent portal, whiteboard, certificates, and goal or mood tracking. Its one-invoice monthly allowance is a particularly practical constraint for anyone billing several families. Pro is the sensible solo-tutor tier when two students or one invoice a month is no longer enough; it adds unlimited students and the parent portal, but still covers only one tutor.

Agency pricing rises to $49/mo for 26–50 tutors; for 50+ tutors, pricing is custom. Agency terms include a 12-month price lock and cap annual increases at 10%, with 60 days’ notice. A 7-day trial is offered, and the service also has a free plan.

Platforms

TutorHive is available on Android, iOS and the web. Its site describes mobile access through a PWA, with instructions to add it to an iPhone home screen using Safari or to an Android home screen using Chrome.

Who it's for

Independent tutors who want an expandable student roster, payment and lesson administration, and parent access are the clearest fit for Pro. Agencies with multiple tutors can use Agency’s staff management, payroll tracking and admin dashboard; the published tiers cover up to 50 tutors before custom pricing. TutorHive is a poor fit for anyone seeking a marketplace, and Free is too constrained for most ongoing practices with more than two students or regular invoicing.

Pros and cons

Pros: Recurring scheduling, student histories, homework and invoicing are combined, reducing the need to keep separate records for those tasks.
Pros: Pro supports unlimited students for one tutor and includes the parent portal, booking website and payment integrations.
Pros: Agency tiers add staff and payroll management, with a stated 12-month price lock and limits on annual increases.
Cons: Free caps the roster at two students and invoices at one per month, and excludes several substantial features.
Cons: Agency starts at $29/mo only for up to 25 tutors; larger teams pay $49/mo for 26–50 or need custom pricing above that.
Cons: Tutors must bring their own video-meeting accounts, so the platform does not replace those services.

Verdict

TutorHive is a solid fit for a solo tutor who needs unlimited student capacity, integrated billing and parent access, or an agency that needs tutor oversight as well as lesson administration. Its strongest reason to choose is the breadth of routine tutoring operations in one service; the main reason to look elsewhere is the sharp gap between Free’s two-student cap and the paid entry point, especially for tutors who only need a modest roster.
