Overview

The hub serves mechanical and magnetic-switch keyboards with drivers, configuration files, and model-specific manuals. Drivers support RGB lighting, macros, and key remapping; profile storage is local only. For MonsGeek owners, having configuration and setup resources in one place is practical, though this is not a general utility for keyboards from other makers.

VIA-compatible keyboards have another route to layout customization: download the model’s JSON configuration file and import it into VIA. Manuals cover setup, features, troubleshooting, and specifications, making the hub useful beyond changing keyboard settings.

Key features

The plugin-free web driver supports FUN68, MG108B, M1 V5 TMR, and M1 V5 TMR, and FUN60 except in ISO layout. MonsGeek says it plans to add models periodically, but for now the web option is relevant only to those supported keyboards. It does not support Safari or Firefox; Chrome is recommended. That browser constraint can rule out the web driver for users whose normal browser is Safari or Firefox.

Downloads include V4 drivers for Mac, web, and Windows, as well as older Windows, Mac, and web-app driver options. The wider selection gives owners alternatives when the current web driver does not fit, but the appropriate download still depends on the keyboard model and driver.

Mac users should note two specific restrictions: customization over Bluetooth is unsupported, and some features, including Audio Visualizer, are unavailable in the Mac web driver. That makes the Mac options a less complete choice for owners who rely on those functions.

Pricing

MonsGeek Driver is free: the MonsGeek Driver plan costs 0.00 USD per free and covers keyboard driver and configuration downloads. There is no paid tier to unlock additional tools, but the free offering is limited by supported models and the driver you use.

Platforms

The hub offers Windows, macOS, and web options. Desktop downloads include Windows and macOS drivers, while the web driver has its own model and browser restrictions. On Mac, Bluetooth customization is unavailable and some web-driver features are missing, so platform availability does not mean every configuration option works in every setup.

Who it's for

This is a sensible choice for MonsGeek keyboard owners who need lighting, macro, or key-mapping controls, or want manuals and VIA files alongside driver downloads. It is not the right fit for someone seeking a universal peripheral manager, a web driver for Safari or Firefox, or Mac Bluetooth customization.

Pros and cons

Pros: Free driver and configuration downloads bring keyboard controls together with model manuals and VIA files.
Pros: Drivers support lighting, macros, and key remapping for compatible MonsGeek keyboards.
Cons: The web driver covers a limited set of models, with FUN60 ISO excluded.
Cons: Safari and Firefox are unsupported for the web driver, and Mac use has Bluetooth and feature limitations.
Cons: Profiles are stored locally only, not across devices or accounts.

Alternatives

For a different device ecosystem, be quiet! IO Center is also free and supports Linux, macOS, web, and Windows. Choose it if that wider platform coverage better matches your setup.

ROCCAT Swarm II is free device configuration software for compatible Turtle Beach devices, with Android, iOS, and Windows support; it is the more relevant option for those devices.

8BitDo Ultimate Software V2 is free for supported 8BitDo devices on Windows 10 (1903) or above and macOS 13.0 or above. Choose it for that device family and those operating-system versions.

Keychron Launcher is a free web app for compatible Keychron devices and supports Linux, macOS, web, and Windows. It is a better fit for owners of those keyboards who want broad platform coverage.

Logitech G HUB is free and offers LIGHTSYNC RGB customization, device configuration and presets, and game profiles for Logitech G gaming mice and keyboards. Consider it for that ecosystem and those profile features.

SteelSeries Moments is another free option.

Fnatic OP Software is free, in early access, and customizes supported Fnatic gear; choose it for compatible Fnatic devices.

HyperX NGENUITY is free, supports Windows, and works with compatible HyperX devices. It is the relevant alternative for those keyboards on Windows.

Verdict

MonsGeek Driver is a good choice for owners of supported MonsGeek keyboards who want free configuration controls alongside manuals and VIA files. Its main advantage is the focused collection of useful keyboard resources; its limited web-model coverage and Mac and browser restrictions are strong reasons to look elsewhere if your device or setup falls outside those boundaries.
