Overview

Kleervox processes microphone audio in real time, using neural cancellation to separate speech from keyboards, traffic, fans, and chatter. Echo cancellation reduces the chance that callers hear their own voices fed back from speakers. Since Kleervox appears as a virtual microphone, it can work with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Slack, and OBS when those apps let you select a microphone. That broad compatibility is useful for people who switch between meetings and streaming, though it is not a replacement for app-specific features beyond noise and echo cleanup.

The maker says audio processing stays on-device: microphone audio, recordings, and cleaned output are not uploaded, stored, or inspected. Account data is a separate matter. Kleervox collects Google sign-in details, usage metrics, installer activity, account state, sign-in history, website and demo analytics, and limited billing data. Stripe handles subscription payments, and the maker says it does not retain full card numbers. The distinction may matter to users prioritizing local audio handling but who also want to understand what account activity is collected.

Key features

Neural noise cancellation: Targets common sounds such as fans, traffic, keyboards, and nearby conversation. This is most useful where background noise would otherwise compete with speech; it does not promise to remove every sound.
Acoustic echo cancellation: Helps prevent speaker output from returning through the microphone. It is a practical addition for speakerphone-style calls, not just a noise filter.
Virtual microphone: A single microphone choice can serve supported call and streaming apps, including the named conferencing, chat, and broadcast tools. Apps must allow microphone selection.
Recording and streaming support: Kleervox supports both, extending its use beyond meetings. Audio source support is microphone input.

Pricing

Kleervox is freemium. The Free plan is free and includes neural noise cancellation, acoustic echo cancellation, and a virtual microphone for call apps, but limits cleaning to one hour per day. Once that allowance runs out, the microphone continues without cancellation until the limit resets at local midnight. It suits occasional callers or anyone assessing the cleanup, but the interruption makes it a poor fit for long workdays.

Pro has custom pricing and is billed monthly in advance, recurring until cancelled. It includes unlimited daily cleaning and priority updates. New accounts get a seven-day Pro trial after their first successful desktop use, with no card required. The trial is a useful way to assess longer sessions before committing, but the monthly renewal means users should cancel or downgrade if they do not intend to continue. Changes can be made from the dashboard; Pro remains active through the paid period before reverting to Free.

Platforms

Public desktop downloads support Windows 10, Windows 11, and Linux; macOS is coming soon. The broader platform listing includes web, but desktop downloads are specifically available for Windows and Linux. Windows setup guides users to install VB-Audio’s free VB-CABLE, an extra step that may deter people who want a simpler installation. Linux creates the virtual microphone automatically. Email support usually replies within one to two business days.

Who it's for

Kleervox makes sense for people on Windows or Linux who need the same real-time microphone cleanup across meetings, chat, and streaming apps. It is particularly compelling for Linux users who value automatic virtual-microphone setup, and for occasional callers who can stay within the Free allowance. Heavy daily users should consider Pro’s unlimited cleaning, while people who need macOS support now or do not want to install a Windows audio cable should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: On-device noise and echo cancellation keeps the audio processing local, according to the maker.
Pro: A virtual microphone can serve multiple listed call and streaming apps instead of limiting cleanup to one service.
Pro: The Free plan and no-card seven-day Pro trial let users start without payment details.
Con: Free cleaning stops after one hour each day, so long sessions require Pro or tolerate untreated microphone audio.
Con: Windows setup requires VB-CABLE installation, unlike Linux’s automatic virtual-microphone creation.
Con: Pro pricing is custom, making its ongoing cost harder to weigh before contacting the maker.

Alternatives

Browse AI Noise Cancellation Software for a wider category view. Pick Krisp AI Meeting Assistant if its Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, or browser-extension platform coverage better fits your devices; its free trial lasts seven days and requires no card, but it has no free plan. NVIDIA ShadowPlay is a free Windows option if your system meets its supported-GPU and driver requirements. Linux users seeking a free tool can consider NoiseTorch-ng, which requires PulseAudio or PipeWire.

neep is another option for people who want unlimited use without a daily minutes cap; its annual plan is 9.00 USD per year and includes a 14-day trial. Choose DeskBroadcast if you need a macOS option, weighing its free tier’s video watermark against the one-time Pro payment. Waves Curves AQ may suit users considering a broader audio-plugin subscription, which includes more than 240 plugins. NoNoise Mac is a free, open-source choice for macOS. For call-center or self-hosted needs, SoliCall Noise Firewall is available across Linux, macOS, Windows, web, and self-hosted platforms, with custom pricing.

Verdict

Kleervox is a solid fit for Windows and Linux users who want on-device noise and echo cleanup that works across calls and streams. Its strongest reasons to choose it are the cross-app virtual microphone, local audio processing, and a genuinely usable free starting point. Look elsewhere if you need macOS today, cannot accept the Windows cable setup, or need more than an hour of daily cleaning without moving to custom-priced Pro.
