Overview

Lavender is an email coaching and personalization tool built around improving the messages people send, not just generating them. It is a strong fit for sales professionals who want feedback on outreach and managers who need a view of team performance. Its clearest distinction is the combination of message-level guidance and team coaching, though regular use requires a paid plan.

Key features

Email Coach scores emails and templates, suggests revisions, and uses AI to address issues that could hurt replies. That makes it useful to SDRs and account executives who have a draft to refine; it is less compelling for someone looking only for a general-purpose writing assistant. The Personalization Assistant brings prospect data into the inbox and offers ways to tailor messages, giving outreach writers a second layer of help beyond wording.

Managers can use the Coaching Dashboard to track team performance, ROI, effective approaches, and areas where people need help. The Team Plan also includes Aggregated Email Analytics, Accelerated Dynamic Scoring, and human-led coaching programs. Those additions make the top tier a management and enablement purchase, rather than simply an upgrade for an individual writer.

Lavender lists Gmail, Outlook, Outreach, Salesloft, HubSpot, Apollo, Groove, and Gong as integrations. They are included in Individual Pro, not Starter; the seven-day free trial includes all integrations and requires no credit card. The product is available as a browser extension and on the web, with a Chrome Web Store listing showing 20,000 users.

Lavender says it is SOC 2 Type 2 certified and GDPR compliant. It says email content is deleted after analysis, access uses Google or Microsoft OAuth and is limited by default to the email being worked on, and users can automatically delete their data from its servers. It also says data is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest with AES, with its AI hosted on Amazon Web Services behind a firewall.

Pricing

Basic: Free forever. It allows analysis of five emails per month and personalization of five emails per month. This is enough to try each core workflow, but the monthly caps rule it out for sustained outreach.

Starter: 27.00 USD per month, billed annually. It includes unlimited emails and personalization, unlimited AI recommendations, the AI Email Writer, multi-inbox support, and chat support. It suits an individual who wants ongoing coaching and writing help, but it excludes integrations.

Individual Pro: 45.00 USD per month, billed annually. It includes everything in Starter plus integrations, priority support, and a dedicated customer success manager. The higher price makes sense for users whose workflow depends on connecting the listed sales and email platforms or who want more support; otherwise, Starter retains the core writing and personalization capacity.

Team Plan: 89.00 USD per month, billed annually. It adds the Coaching Dashboard, Aggregated Email Analytics, Accelerated Dynamic Scoring, and human-led coaching programs. It is aimed at organizations investing in shared coaching and oversight, not individuals who only need message feedback. Lavender also offers a seven-day trial with all integrations and no credit card required.

Platforms

Lavender is available as a browser extension and through the web. That keeps it close to inbox-based work, while the listed Gmail, Outlook, and sales-platform integrations are reserved for Individual Pro outside the trial.

Who it's for

Lavender describes Email Coach for SDRs and account executives, and also identifies recruiters, jobseekers, and customer success managers as potential users. The best fit is someone who sends enough email to benefit from repeated feedback and personalization. Managers who want team-level insight should consider Team Plan; occasional writers are better served by the free allowance or a simpler drafting tool.

Pros and cons

Pros: Email scoring, recommendations, and AI fixes address the quality of an existing message, not just first-draft creation.
Pros: Prospect-data personalization and the Team Plan's coaching tools cover both individual outreach and team development.
Pros: The seven-day trial includes all integrations without requiring a card, so buyers can assess the connected workflow before choosing a tier.
Cons: Basic limits analysis and personalization to five emails each per month, too little for routine professional use.
Cons: Starter has no integrations, while access to them starts at 45.00 USD per month billed annually.
Cons: The 89.00 USD per month Team Plan is a substantial step up for buyers who do not need manager-level analytics and coaching.

Alternatives

For readers comparing other AI Email Writing Tools or broader AI writing assistants, the choice depends on whether message coaching, drafting, or platform flexibility matters most.

Ellie is worth considering for a free plan with ten draft replies per day, though its free tier has one connected email account and one team seat.
ForthWrite offers a free tier with ten drafts per week and support for Gmail and Outlook on the web; choose it if that drafting allowance and wider platform availability better match your needs.
Jetwriter AI has a free plan with 15 regular-model responses per month, a browser extension, web app, voice input, and live web access.
MailMaestro limits its free Compose, Reply, and Improve use to three per week; it may suit readers seeking a smaller free allowance for those tasks.
Workforce AI Email Drafter has a free web plan for one user with email drafting, Gmail and Outlook drafts, and a small monthly AI credit pool.
MailSome offers five free emails daily without signup, making it an option for light, low-friction use.
WriteMail.ai has plans with monthly AI email allowances and supports Android, iOS, desktop, web, and browser extension platforms.
Maillifier is a free, self-hosted option built as an open-source Google Apps Script project that requires a Google account with Gmail access and a Gemini API key.

Verdict

Lavender is a good choice for SDRs, account executives, and email-focused teams that want structured feedback, prospect personalization, and—at the Team Plan level—manager coaching tools. The trial makes it practical to assess the full integrated workflow, but the five-email free caps are only a sampler and integrations require Individual Pro. Look elsewhere if you need broad drafting without annual paid tiers, or if your main requirement is a generous free allowance.
