Overview

Lillio combines tools for running a childcare program with services for families and educators. Enrollment, attendance, billing, and center operations sit alongside lesson plans and on-demand professional development. That breadth can simplify work across a program; centers seeking only a focused tool may find this range unnecessary.

Centers pay for adoption, while parents whose children attend participating centers can use the app for free. The family benefit therefore depends on a childcare provider choosing Lillio.

Key features

Center operations and billing

Staff scheduling, classroom ratio tracking, attendance records, customized reports, waitlist management, and online registration cover recurring administrative work. Billing adds customized tuition plans, automated invoices, payment tracking, auto-pay, and subsidy management. These functions make Lillio a practical fit for centers that want enrollment and financial workflows alongside daily records, rather than managing those needs in separate systems.

Family communication and attendance

Family communication and attendance and check-in are core capabilities. Along with the parent app, they give centers a way to connect family-facing access to operational records. Parents can use the app at no charge if their center participates; it is not a standalone free option for a family whose provider has not adopted Lillio.

Curriculum and educator learning

Lillio provides research-based lesson plans and activities aligned to standards across North America through FunShine Express. Lillio Academy adds on-demand professional development courses for early childhood educators. This combination may suit programs that want teaching resources and staff learning within their management platform, though it is less relevant to buyers looking solely for administrative software.

Security and support

Lillio says it operates a security program to protect customer private data. Customer support is available by phone and email Monday through Friday, 8am–6pm ET, giving centers weekday assistance during set hours.

Pricing

Childcare center subscription

The center subscription has custom pricing based on center needs and size. Since the price depends on the center, buyers should request a quote to determine whether the platform’s broad set of tools fits their budget.

Parents whose children attend participating centers can use the app free; this is not a free center plan. No center subscription price or seat cap is stated.

Platforms

Lillio is available on Android, iOS, and the web. Its mobile apps support access for families and users who need the service away from a desktop.

Who it's for

Lillio is aimed at owners and directors managing childcare centers or early childhood programs, educators using curriculum and professional learning resources, and families whose centers adopt the platform. It is a stronger fit for programs that value administration, family access, and educator resources together than for buyers who need only one narrow function or a published price for straightforward comparison.

Pros and cons

Broad center coverage: Enrollment, attendance, staff scheduling, ratio tracking, waitlists, and reporting address multiple operating needs in one platform.
Billing depth: Automated invoices, auto-pay, payment tracking, customized tuition plans, and subsidy management give centers several ways to handle payment workflows.
Teaching resources included: Standards-aligned lesson plans and on-demand educator courses extend the platform beyond administration.
Families pay nothing for the app: Parents at participating centers get free access, but families cannot use that benefit independently of their provider.
Custom pricing limits comparison: Centers must request a quote, and the trial has no stated duration, making upfront evaluation less clear.

Verdict

Choose Lillio if you run a childcare center or early childhood program and want administration, family communication, billing, curriculum, and educator learning in one platform. Its main advantage is the breadth of those functions, while the main reason to look elsewhere is the need for a custom quote before you can compare its cost with alternatives.
