Overview

Link Whisper combines reviewable link suggestions with automatic linking, orphan-page detection, and bulk link editing. That mix can help a publisher find gaps and manage links at scale, while approval-based suggestions leave editorial control with the user. The free WordPress plugin is much narrower: outbound suggestions must be inserted manually, and premium reports require a paid plan.

Key features

Suggestions and integrations

Suggestions can use Google Search Console data and keywords from Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All In One SEO, and SEOPress. This makes the tool more useful to sites already working with those sources; it is a less natural fit if link recommendations need to draw on a different keyword workflow. Editors and builders include Classic Editor, Gutenberg, Beaver Builder, Cornerstone, Elementor, and Divi, among others. Support for Advanced Custom Fields and configurable custom metafield processing can extend suggestions into nonstandard content.

Reports and cross-site links

Premium reports cover link statistics, domain linking statistics, link clicks, and broken links, giving site owners several ways to monitor their linking work. Sites on the same license can exchange outbound suggestions, but Link Whisper does not support inbound cross-site suggestions, so this is not a complete two-way network view.

Privacy and tracking

The maker says the Premium plugin does not send site content or personally identifiable information to its servers; license checks send the key, site URL, and subscription level. Content selected for AI processing is sent to OpenAI, while usernames, emails, WooCommerce orders, and submitted forms are not. Click tracking can store visitor IP addresses and site IDs on the customer's site; collection can be disabled and stored data deleted. These settings matter for site owners weighing tracking and AI processing against their privacy requirements.

Pricing

Link Whisper offers a free plugin and four paid annual plans. The maker also offers a limited-time free trial of Premium. Growth, Pro, and Agency include Premium Support and a 1:1 call with the team; Starter does not list those benefits.

Plan	Price and allowance	Best fit
Link Whisper Free	0.00 USD per free; free to install and use from WordPress.org, with manual insertion of outbound suggestions.	Readers who want to try the basic suggestion workflow without paying, and can accept manual insertion.
Starter	$119/year; 1 WordPress site and 2,000 AI Credits.	A single-site owner who needs a paid license and AI credits but not the multi-site allotments or listed support benefits of higher plans.
Growth	$197/year; 3 sites and 3,000 AI Credits.	Small operators managing several sites who value included Premium Support and a 1:1 call.
Pro	$297/year; 10 sites and 5,000 AI Credits.	Teams with a larger portfolio that need more site capacity and credits.
Agency	$497/year; 50 sites and 10,000 AI Credits.	Agencies managing many licensed sites and seeking the largest listed allowance.

The price breakpoints buy more site capacity and AI Credits, not just a different label: Starter is the only paid plan limited to one WordPress site, while Growth, Pro, and Agency scale to 3, 10, and 50. The free plan is a useful entry point but gives up premium reporting and requires manual insertion of outbound suggestions.

Platforms

Link Whisper is available as a WordPress plugin and Shopify app, and is described as supporting self-hosted and web platforms. The listed paid Starter allowance is specifically for one WordPress site.

Who it's for

Link Whisper suits WordPress publishers and site operators who want suggestions informed by familiar SEO tools, coverage across common editors and builders, and premium link reports. Growth, Pro, and Agency are more relevant to users managing multiple sites or seeking the included support. It is less suitable for readers who need inbound cross-site suggestions, or who want the free version to provide premium reporting and automatic insertion.

Pros and cons

Pros: Suggestions can draw on Google Search Console and four named SEO plugins, making them relevant to established SEO workflows.
Pros: Broad editor and builder support, plus ACF and configurable metafields, extends its reach beyond standard post content.
Pros: Premium reporting covers link statistics, clicks, domain links, and broken links in one tool.
Cons: The free plugin requires manual insertion of outbound suggestions, so it is a limited substitute for the paid workflow.
Cons: Cross-site suggestions work outbound only between sites on the same license; inbound links are not supported.
Cons: Click tracking may store visitor IP addresses and site IDs, a consideration for operators with strict privacy requirements.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, see Internal Linking Tools. LinkBoss is another freemium web option with a free plan and trial. Linkbot suits readers looking for a free starter tier with reporting and diagnostics, but no automated linking or ongoing sync. InterLinks offers a free demo with linking for blogs, pages, products, and collections, plus smart redirects. redCacti has a free tier for one site and up to 1,000 pages, with limits on results and without automated crawls or link suggestions. Magic Rinku offers a free credit allowance and a 200-credits-per-month plan for $9.00 USD per month. Relinka is a self-hosted WordPress plugin with a free tier requiring no account or API key, and a Pro plan at $59.00 USD per year for one site. Uix Page Builder is a free WordPress page builder. Interlink is a free self-hosted WordPress plugin with no signup requirement.

Verdict

Link Whisper is a strong choice for WordPress publishers who want approval-based suggestions informed by established SEO tools, supported by useful reports and multi-site plans. Its main reason to choose it is the combination of content coverage, keyword context, and link monitoring; look elsewhere if you need inbound cross-site suggestions or expect the free plugin to automate insertion and provide premium reports.
