Overview

Logi Options+ is Logitech’s free utility for configuring its supported peripherals and tailoring controls to individual apps. It suits people who use Logitech gear across work, presentation, or multi-computer setups. Its broad controls are useful, but several headline features are limited to particular MX devices.

For a Logitech setup, the combination of customization, automation, and computer-to-computer controls makes a strong case for installing it. It is not a general-purpose peripheral manager, and device compatibility matters: the supported operating systems are Windows 10 or later and macOS 14 or later.

Key features

Controls for devices and apps

Options+ adjusts pointer speed, scrolling speed and direction, sensitivity, and polling rate, and supports macros, per-app profiles, and gestures assigned to mouse buttons or touchpads. That range can accommodate both routine preferences and more tailored input behavior. App-specific presets or custom actions cover Chrome, Edge, Safari, Zoom, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Teams, making the software more useful to people who move between those applications.

For presentations, mouse Spotlight Effects provide Highlight, Magnify, and Digital Laser pointing effects. These are practical presentation tools rather than a substitute for broader presentation software.

Automation and device switching

Smart Actions bundle multiple tasks into one click or keystroke, while Actions Ring puts customizable tools in an on-screen overlay at the cursor. The Marketplace adds plugins, profiles, and icon packs. Actions Ring and Marketplace are available with MX devices except MX Webcam and MX Ink, so these features should not be treated as universal across Logitech hardware.

Supported keyboards can use Easy-Switch to move among as many as three devices with one key press. Flow goes further: it controls multiple computers and operating systems and transfers text, images, and files between them. That is a meaningful advantage for people working across machines, though Flow is a poor reason to choose the app if their setup does not include the necessary supported Logitech devices. Haptic feedback for specific actions is currently available with MX Master 4.

Deployment and privacy

For organizations, administrators can silently deploy Options+ remotely and configure analytics, Flow, single sign-on, and automatic updates. Deployment tools include SCCM, Intune, and Jamf, and features can be disabled with specified command-line parameters. This makes the app more suitable for managed fleets than a consumer-only utility. Logitech says its security protocols use NIST 800-53 and ISO/IEC 27001:2013 as guiding roadmaps; data in transit uses HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or above, and local and server data are encrypted. With consent, the app may collect usage and diagnostic data, but not information users enter with mice, keyboards, or touchpads.

Pricing

The Logi Options+ plan is 0.00 USD per free. It covers supported Logitech devices and is listed for Windows 10 or later and macOS 12 or later; the supported operating-system requirements are Windows 10 or later and macOS 14 or later. There is no paid tier to weigh against the free plan. The important qualification is that access to some features depends on the device, particularly for Actions Ring, Marketplace, and haptic feedback.

Platforms

Options+ supports Windows 10 or later and macOS 14 or later. It customizes supported Logitech mice, keyboards, lights, webcams, touchpads, presentation remotes, and MX Creative Console. The breadth of device categories is useful for Logitech households and workplaces, but it does not remove the need to confirm that an individual feature works with a particular device.

Who it's for

Choose Options+ if you already use supported Logitech peripherals and want to tune their controls, automate repeated tasks, or coordinate work across computers. It is also a credible fit for IT teams that need remote deployment and configuration options. Look elsewhere if you need a cross-brand customization tool or if your hardware does not support the specific MX feature you want.

Pros and cons

Pros: Free access combines device settings, app-specific actions, macros, gestures, and pointer controls in one utility.
Pros: Flow and Easy-Switch address distinct multi-computer needs, from moving content between computers to switching a supported keyboard among up to three devices.
Pros: Remote deployment and feature controls make it viable for managed business environments.
Cons: Actions Ring and Marketplace exclude MX Webcam and MX Ink, while haptic feedback is currently limited to MX Master 4.
Cons: The utility is centered on supported Logitech devices, so it is not the right choice for a mixed-brand setup seeking one universal control app.

Alternatives

Keyboard and Mouse Customization Software is the broader category to browse if you want to compare utilities before choosing one tied to Logitech devices.

Rebind is a freemium option with Linux support as well as macOS and Windows; choose it when Linux compatibility or a free software mode without an account is the priority.
be quiet! IO Center is another free option with Linux, macOS, web, and Windows platforms; consider it if those platform options suit your setup better.
Logitech G HUB is free and focuses on Logitech G gaming mice, device configuration, presets, game profiles, and LIGHTSYNC RGB customization; choose it for that gaming-oriented feature set.
HyperX NGENUITY is a free Windows-only option for compatible HyperX devices; choose it for that hardware and platform combination.
MonsGeek Driver is free and offers keyboard driver and configuration downloads, with supported models varying by driver; consider it for a compatible MonsGeek keyboard.
Glorious CORE is free for configuring most Glorious products, with cloud profile saving requiring a Glorious ID; choose it for Glorious gear.
Fnatic OP Software is free early-access software for supported Fnatic gear; consider it if you use that hardware.
Cosmic Byte Orbit is free for Cosmic Byte device owners and supports Linux, macOS, web, and Windows; consider it for compatible Cosmic Byte devices.

Verdict

Logi Options+ is the right choice for Logitech users who want a free, capable place to customize supported peripherals, shape app-specific controls, and connect multi-computer workflows. Its main reason to look elsewhere is the same limitation that defines its strengths: the features are built around Logitech hardware, and some of the most distinctive tools require particular MX devices.
