Overview

SmartCourier links pickup and shipment booking with branch and hub operations, transit monitoring, delivery confirmation and proof of delivery. Real-time delivery status and a web dashboard give managers a view across runners and locations, making the product more suited to organized delivery networks than to teams needing only a basic handoff record.

Delivery proof can combine electronic signatures, GPS location and timestamped photos. The delivery module stores work locally when offline and synchronizes it to the cloud when a connection returns, a useful safeguard for runners in areas with unreliable connectivity.

Key features

Runner workflow and delivery evidence

The Android app handles barcode scanning, pickup entry and multi-AWB batch delivery, with configurable reasons for undelivered shipments and background synchronization. These tools support a repeatable field process; the choice of evidence types also gives operations teams more than one way to document a delivery. GPS tracking and photo evidence are included in Starter, while signature capture is a Professional feature and map-based proof is an add-on.

Operational visibility and integrations

The dashboard combines live statistics, trend charts, branch performance and a runner leaderboard. That mix can help managers spot differences between locations and follow activity without relying only on individual delivery records. Enterprise plans include RESTful API integration with ERP systems, accounting software or client portals. SmartCourier also supports India Post Speed Post and Registered Post connectivity.

Configuration and security

Customers can apply their branding, configure delivery statuses and undelivered reasons, and add modules such as OTP delivery or SMS notifications. SmartCourier says it uses device-based authentication, encrypted cloud storage, parameterized SQL Server queries, UUID sync codes and customer-dedicated cloud infrastructure. These are the stated security measures; organizations should assess them against their own requirements.

Pricing

SmartCourier has a free plan and a free trial. Every plan also carries a one-time implementation, onboarding and setup fee, so the free entry tier is not necessarily cost-free to deploy. Integrations, SMS or OTP, WhatsApp, maps, GPS tracking and on-site training can bring additional charges.

Plan	Price and limits	What it includes
Starter	Free · one month. Up to 3 runners and 1 branch.	Basic web dashboard, GPS tracking, mobile app access, photo evidence, API access and priority support.
Professional	Custom pricing; billed monthly. Up to 25 runners and 5 branches.	Full web dashboard, signature capture and email support. GPS, map and photo proof and SMS notifications are add-ons.
Enterprise	Custom pricing; tailored quote. Unlimited runners and branches.	Professional features, full API integration, custom modules and dedicated support. OTP delivery and live vehicle and runner tracking are add-ons.

Starter offers a low-commitment way to cover a small operation, but its three-runner and single-branch caps make it a limited fit for growing networks. Professional raises those ceilings and adds signature capture, while Enterprise removes the stated runner and branch limits and adds full API integration and custom modules. Both paid plans use custom pricing, so teams should request a quote that accounts for the setup fee and any required add-ons.

Platforms

The runner app supports Android 8.0 or later, and the web dashboard works in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari. API access is supported, but there is no iOS app. This is a practical constraint for organizations with mixed mobile fleets; supported Android devices are required for the field workflow. Documentation, onboarding, ongoing support and online training are included, while on-site training costs extra.

Who it's for

SmartCourier is aimed at corporate courier divisions, banking mail services, logistics companies, enterprise delivery networks, e-commerce and retail operations, insurers and government organizations. It makes the most sense where teams need branch-level oversight, offline runner workflows and consistent proof of delivery. A small group with one location may find the breadth unnecessary, while an iOS-dependent workforce will need another option.

Pros and cons

Pros: Offline delivery with later cloud synchronization keeps field work moving through connectivity gaps.
Pros: Signatures, GPS locations and timestamped photos support documented handoffs.
Pros: Branch reporting and a runner leaderboard provide operational views beyond individual shipment records.
Pros: Custom modules and Enterprise API integration can accommodate established workflows and connected business systems.
Cons: No iOS app limits the field team to supported Android devices.
Cons: A one-time setup fee applies to every plan, and several operational capabilities may cost extra.
Cons: Professional and Enterprise prices require a quote, making budget comparisons less direct.

Alternatives

Proof of Delivery Software is a useful category starting point for comparing delivery-proof tools.

Consider Maxmove Digital POD if iOS support matters: it has Android, iOS, API and web platforms, plus a free entry tier with Digital POD and cancellable monthly billing.

Pocpod may suit a very small team that wants a clear free quota: Basic is free for one user and 10 jobs a month, with reports, portal access and basic support.

Hikyaku is worth considering if self-hosting for personal use is the priority; its self-hosted plan is free.

InfoTech Proof of Delivery App is an option for teams already using InfoTech weighbridge software, which it requires alongside a POD licence.

LogistiCarl POD may fit teams looking for a paid delivery tool with Android, iOS and web support; its free plan is not available.

GetDeliveryProof is a paid alternative with Android, iOS and web apps, including a Starter plan for 1–2 drivers and 30 images per day.

SimplyDepo may be a better fit for field sales teams organized by representative count, with plans for teams of 1–5, 6–15 or 16–49 reps.

Witylogix is another free option to consider.

Verdict

SmartCourier is a strong choice for courier and enterprise delivery operations that need offline runner work, varied proof of delivery and branch-level reporting in one system. Its broad workflow and customization are the main reasons to choose it; the Android-only app, setup fee and add-on charges are the main reasons to look elsewhere. Request a complete quote before committing, especially if integrations, messaging or tracking modules are essential.
