Overview

Automated discovery scans an IT environment for applications, including tools adopted outside formal procurement. A unified dashboard brings applications, users, licenses, and spending metrics together, giving teams a shared view of their SaaS estate.

Spend analysis highlights underused licenses and overlapping subscriptions; renewal tracking and license reclamation give teams ways to act on those findings. This is a stronger fit for organizations seeking ongoing control of subscription costs than for buyers who only need a basic inventory.

Key features

Discovery, access, and license management

The product combines app discovery and usage analytics with automated provisioning, role-based access control, user activity monitoring, and access audit trails. That breadth makes it relevant to administrators who need to manage both application costs and user access. Optical character recognition extracts license details from uploaded invoices, which can reduce manual entry when reconciling records.

Reporting and integrations

Reports cover vendor spending, spending by source, most-used and most-spent vendors, user app statistics, user activity, and app activity. They provide several angles for reviewing usage and cost, though the value depends on teams making those reports part of their review process.

Documented integrations include Box, Google Workspace, Dropbox, Microsoft 365, Asana, HubSpot, ServiceDesk Plus, Zoho Projects, Jira, Zoho CRM, Zoho Desk, Zoho Recruit, DocuSign, and Webex. Accounting and expense-tool connections include Zoho Books, QuickBooks, and Zoho Expense. The product's help documentation lists 35 integrations, so buyers should confirm their required apps are covered.

Security and support

Settings include audit logs, defined roles for Account Owner, Super Admin, Admin, and Moderator, and SAML single sign-on through Zoho Directory. ManageEngine says its cloud solutions run in Zoho-owned data centers assigned to nearby regions, with region-specific ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, and PCI DSS certifications. Support channels include help documentation, support and pre-sales evaluation email, and a toll-free phone number.

Pricing

The free plan is free and covers up to 2 applications after the trial; each application counts toward the limit. That cap makes it suitable for a very small portfolio or initial evaluation, but not broad SaaS oversight. The 30-day trial offers a way to evaluate the paid service before settling on a cap.

Paid plans are billed yearly: Up to 5 apps costs 250.00 USD per year, Up to 10 apps costs 480.00 USD per year, Up to 25 apps costs 960.00 USD per year, Up to 50 apps costs 2000.00 USD per year, and Up to 100 apps costs 3800.00 USD per year. Up to 200 apps costs 7500.00 USD per year; managing more than 200 requires contacting sales. Each tier trades a higher annual bill for a larger application allowance, so buyers should count the full portfolio they intend to manage before choosing. Pricing is based on application limits, not a per-seat quota in these plans.

Platforms

SaaS Manager Plus is available on the web. That suits browser-based administration, but buyers seeking a dedicated desktop or mobile platform should look elsewhere.

Who it's for

It suits organizations that want automated SaaS discovery, license optimization, renewal oversight, and user-access management in one web platform. IT teams can use the discovery and audit controls to bring unmanaged apps into view, while finance teams can review vendor spending and overlapping subscriptions. It is less compelling for a tiny portfolio that fits within two apps or for buyers whose required integrations are outside its documented set.

Pros and cons

Pros: Discovery includes apps adopted outside procurement, helping surface services that a purchase-led inventory can miss.
Pros: Spend analysis, renewal tracking, license reclamation, and access controls bring cost and user administration into the same product.
Pros: Invoice OCR extracts license details, and reporting covers vendor, user, and app activity.
Cons: The free plan stops at two apps after trial, so it is not a lasting solution for a broad portfolio.
Cons: Paid plans are annual and tightly tied to app-count limits; organizations above 200 apps must contact sales.
Cons: It is a web platform, and the documented integration set may not cover every app a buyer needs.

Alternatives

For a wider selection of tools in this category, browse SaaS Management Platforms.

Choose Corma if a free starting point with identity-provider connection, a browser extension, SSO connection, and a 10-app allowance better matches your needs. Binadox may suit buyers looking for a paid starter plan with three cloud accounts, five applications, and three team seats. SpendVera is another freemium option, with a free tier for up to 10 subscriptions and a focus on cost transparency for small teams. Teisko is worth considering when a free plan with unlimited apps, one admin, up to 100 managed users, and monthly invoice extractions is the priority.

Matrix42 FastViewer, Block 64, AccessOwl, and Nudge Security are also alternatives to consider.

Verdict

ManageEngine SaaS Manager Plus is a sensible choice for organizations that want app discovery, spend and renewal oversight, license reclamation, and access administration in one place. Its strongest reason to buy is that lifecycle coverage; its main drawback is the app-count pricing, which makes the free tier narrow and pushes larger portfolios into higher annual plans or a sales conversation.
