Overview

Pitchero is an all-in-one platform for sports clubs, combining a club website with membership administration, team coordination, communications and online payments. It suits volunteer officials, coaches, managers and captains who need club-wide administration alongside day-to-day team work. Its broad scope is useful for growing clubs, but the free tier is deliberately narrow and payment charges apply on paid plans.

Membership administration includes online registration forms, a central database, custom fields, member-data import and export, and permission controls. Team tools cover availability, selection, instant messaging, fixtures, results, statistics, rosters, schedules and standings. Clubs can collect membership fees, match fees, donations and other products, with reminders and payment tracking.

Key features

Pitchero’s main strength is the connection between administrative and sporting tasks. Officials can maintain one member record while coaches handle selections and messages, reducing the need to coordinate separate systems. Stripe and GoCardless integrations support payments, while YouTube, Facebook, X.com, Ticketmaster Universe and official ECB Play-Cricket.com integrations extend publishing and event options.

Fundraising is supported through The Fundraising Club Lottery integration, described as an automated-draw option for UK clubs. Pitchero lists unlimited AWS hosting for website and app features. It says member data and payments are encrypted and stored with industry-standard security measures, and that the member database supports GDPR and data-protection best practice. A UK support team is advertised as available 24/7 for guidance and onboarding.

Pricing

Pitchero uses a freemium model. The Free plan costs £0.00, is billed free forever and allows one team with core features. It cannot process payments and carries third-party advertising, so it is mainly a way for a single team to establish a basic presence rather than run a complete paying club operation.

Standard costs £38 per month and supports up to 20 teams. It includes payment processing from 2.42% + 17p, one custom domain, 10 club email accounts and limited advertising. This is the sensible tier for established clubs that need several teams and online collections without unlimited capacity, though transaction costs add to the subscription.

Pro costs £99 per month and removes the team ceiling. Payment processing starts at 1.67% + 15p, and the plan includes one custom domain, 50 club email accounts and no advertising. High-volume or multi-team clubs are the clearest fit; smaller clubs may not recover the extra monthly cost.

Paid packages have a 30-day trial with no payment required to start. The selected plan begins automatically when the trial ends, so clubs should review the choice before that point. Additional teams can be purchased for £2.50 per month, which provides a route beyond Standard’s stated allowance without moving immediately to Pro.

Platforms

Pitchero provides web access and native Android and iOS apps. Clubs wanting mobile access for coaches, managers and members can use the apps alongside the website. Custom domains are available on Standard and Pro.

Who it's for

Pitchero is a strong fit for sports clubs that need registration, member records, team operations, communications and collections in one service. Standard suits clubs with several teams and a need for a branded domain and club email accounts; Pro is aimed at organizations with unlimited-team requirements or a preference for removing advertising and obtaining lower starting payment rates. The Free plan fits a single team that does not need payment processing.

It is less suitable when a club only needs basic fixture coordination, or when a one-team organization cannot justify paid administration. Clubs processing substantial payments should compare the percentage-plus-fixed-fee costs with alternatives before committing.

Pros and cons

Pro: Membership, team management, communications, website functions and payments share one platform.
Pro: Registration, custom fields, imports and exports, and permission controls support structured member administration.
Pro: Android, iOS and web access cover office and sideline use.
Con: The free plan is restricted to one team, cannot process payments and displays third-party advertising.
Con: Paid plans add transaction fees, and the chosen package starts automatically after the trial.
Con: Clubs needing more than 20 teams must buy £2.50 monthly team add-ons or move to Pro.

Alternatives

Choose Competize instead when tournament management is the priority: its free Friends plan covers one competition, with Android, iOS, web and API access.

TeamPages is an alternative for a single-team setup on its free Basic plan, or for up to four Pro teams on its $295-per-year Starter plan with a 2% online-registration fee.

Pick Waresport Website Builder when a website-builder approach and capacity up to 75 athletes on its $69.99-per-month Team plan are the deciding factors.

EasyChamp suits competition-focused organizations wanting unlimited competitions and players on its free plan, with up to eight teams per competition.

League Builder is a web-only option for smaller leagues: its free plan allows eight teams, 200 players, one admin and one league.

Choose Upplii when up to three teams can use a no-monthly-fee Team plan with payments, scheduling and a member portal.

HomeTeamsONLINE is a web alternative offering a free Rookie team with schedules, scores, standings and unlimited members.

Playpass Website Builder is suited to a lightweight schedule and payments setup: its free plan covers one live schedule and applies a 3% payment fee.

Verdict

Pitchero is a good choice for volunteer-led sports clubs that want one system for members, teams, communications, websites and collections, especially once they have multiple teams. Its main reason to look elsewhere is cost structure: the free tier cannot take payments, paid plans charge processing fees, and the selected package renews automatically after the 30-day trial.
