Overview

PushPress is gym management software that brings scheduling, member administration, payments, and marketing tools together for independent fitness businesses. It is best suited to gyms and studios that want to manage more than class bookings in one system. Its free plan avoids a monthly software charge, but the higher processing rates make the paid options worth comparing against actual payment volume.

Key features

Scheduling and member operations

Recurring class templates, capacity controls, waitlists, coach substitutions, and automated handling of no-shows and late cancellations cover the practical demands of a changing class schedule. Online booking, digital waivers, member management, and automated billing extend PushPress into day-to-day administration. This breadth can reduce the need to separate booking from member and payment workflows, though the processing fees are an important part of the decision.

Marketing and integrations

PushPress Grow adds lead capture forms and landing pages, automated email and text messages, social integrations, WhatsApp messaging, and member-engagement workflows. At $329.00 USD per month, it is a significant additional commitment for a gym that mainly needs scheduling and billing; it makes more sense for an operator seeking a full CRM and automated outreach. Integrations include Stripe, Zapier, Slack, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Google Calendar, Facebook Ads, HybridAF, and Kisi. HybridAF and Kisi support gym door access with permissions tied to membership status.

Apps, support, and migration

The Member App works on iOS, Android, and the web. Staff can use the web-based Control Panel from desktop, laptop, or mobile browsers. Free-plan support consists of self-serve resources and AI support, with human assistance on a 48-hour response time; Pro and Max include AI support, live human responses, and optional video support calls. PushPress also offers onboarding that imports member and business data from other gym platforms, which can make a move to the system more practical for an established gym.

Pricing

PushPress uses a freemium model. Free is free, with no monthly fees, and includes unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff. Its processing rates are 4.99% + .30 for credit cards and 2.89% + .30 for ACH. The unlimited user counts are useful for a small operation avoiding fixed software costs, but higher processing charges can weigh against the free plan as payment volume grows.

Pro costs 159.00 USD per month and Max costs 229.00 USD per month. Both include unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff. Pro lists processing at 2.89% + .30 for credit cards and 0.79% + .30 for ACH; Max lists 2.75% + .30 for credit cards and 0.79% + .30 for ACH. Pro is the lower-cost paid tier for gyms seeking lower rates than Free, while Max charges $70 more per month for a lower credit-card rate; the better fit depends on card volume.

Other plans address more specific needs: Train costs 79.00 USD per month for workout tracking for up to 20 clients; Grow costs 329.00 USD per month for a full CRM with automated workflows, email/SMS, and websites; Branded App costs 8197.00 USD per month for a white-labeled mobile app; and Full Stack costs 559.00 USD per month for all features combined. Train's 20-client cap makes it a focused option rather than a full gym-management tier. Grow, Branded App, and Full Stack suit businesses seeking those broader capabilities and prepared for the higher monthly costs.

Platforms

PushPress supports Android, iOS, and web. The Member App is available across those platforms, while the Control Panel is web-based and works in desktop, laptop, and mobile browsers.

Who it's for

PushPress is aimed at small, mid-size, and established gyms and studios, including CrossFit, martial arts, strength, and boutique fitness businesses. It is a stronger fit for operators who want scheduling, payment collection, member administration, and potentially marketing under one roof than for businesses that need only a simple booking calendar. Unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff on Free, Pro, and Max also make those tiers less restrictive as a gym adds people, although the Free plan's transaction rates remain a key trade-off.

Pros and cons

Broad operating scope: Scheduling, billing, member tools, waivers, and online booking can cover several recurring gym workflows in one system.
Flexible class controls: Waitlists, capacity management, substitutions, and no-show or late-cancel automation address common scheduling complications.
Unlimited core accounts on three tiers: Free, Pro, and Max do not impose listed caps on leads, admins, members, or staff.
Free has steep processing rates: Its 4.99% + .30 credit-card and 2.89% + .30 ACH rates may outweigh the lack of a monthly fee for a business processing substantial payments.
Advanced capabilities raise the bill: Grow is $329.00 USD per month, while the listed Branded App plan is $8197.00 USD per month, so those options are a much larger commitment than Free or the core Pro and Max plans.

Alternatives

Clubworx is worth considering for a gym that wants a free forever plan capped at 20 active members, with online booking, payments, email and SMS, and a self-check-in kiosk. WellnessLiving offers a Starter plan at 62.00 USD per month billed annually, including one staff member, classes and appointments booking, and client and staff apps; it may suit a smaller operation prioritizing a lower annual-billed entry price. Momence uses custom pricing tailored to each business, so it is an option for operators willing to seek a quote rather than choose a published plan price. OpenMat has no monthly subscription fee, with transaction fees applying to eligible online payments, making it an alternative for a gym prioritizing no monthly software charge.

Gymdesk starts at 75.00 USD per month for a plan capped at 50 members, which may fit a smaller membership base that prefers a stated cap and price. MyStudio offers Essentials at 79.00 USD per month, with unlimited students, a website and member app, rank and belt tracking, online sales and payments, and class scheduling; it is a relevant option for schools that value rank and belt tracking. Pike13 lists Essential at 159.00 USD per month with a 12-month contract, unlimited staff seats, and unlimited client profiles, an alternative for studios comfortable with that contract term. Platsana offers add-ons including Schedule API Access for 10.00 USD per month and Extra Locations for 40.00 USD per location, an option for businesses seeking separately priced add-ons.

Verdict

Choose PushPress if your gym needs a connected system for classes, members, and payments, with marketing and access integrations available as the operation grows. Its standout advantage is the breadth of gym-specific workflows, while the key reason to look elsewhere is the free tier's higher processing rates or the monthly cost of advanced plans. Compare processing costs against your payment volume before deciding between Free, Pro, and Max.
