Overview

Rerout creates short links on verified custom domains, with custom paths and controls for activation and expiry. Destinations remain editable after a link is distributed, so a promotion, event page, or partner funnel can change without replacing the printed or published URL. That is particularly useful when QR codes are placed on physical materials.

The free offering includes the main link-management workload rather than a token trial: branded editable links, domains, QR assets, campaigns, analytics, API access, templates, schedules, health checks, and bulk tools. The dividing line is native integration support. Slack notifications, automation services, payment attribution, and HubSpot activity require Pro, and the subscription is charged per workspace.

Key features

Links and QR assets

Custom paths, activation windows, expiry settings, and post-launch destination edits give campaign owners practical control over links that change over time. Bulk creation is useful for catalogues, partner programs, or large event inventories, while templates and schedules help standardize repeated campaigns.

QR codes can be branded and exported in SVG, PNG, or PDF. Reusable styling and regeneration controls make the same visual system workable across digital placements and print production, with the destination still adjustable later.

Analytics

Reporting includes total clicks, top links, country mix, referrers, and device information. That is enough to compare campaign reach and traffic sources and to identify which links deserve attention, though the published feature set does not promise deeper attribution beyond the stated integration tools.

API and integrations

Rerout provides a RESTful JSON API, project-scoped API keys, signed webhooks, and maintained SDKs for ten languages. This is a credible foundation for developers who need link creation or event handling inside another system rather than through a dashboard alone.

Pro adds native Slack, Zapier, Make, Stripe Checkout, and HubSpot integrations across every project in a workspace. Rerout says each provider receives only the scopes needed for its job and that automation credentials are project-scoped. For Stripe attribution, it stores payment amount, currency, payment identity, and click attribution, but not customer or card data. API keys, integrations, webhooks, domains, and the account itself can be removed from the product, giving administrators a clear off-switch.

Pricing

Rerout Free

The free plan is free, billed $0 forever. It includes branded and editable short links, verified custom domains, QR assets, campaigns and analytics, the developer API and maintained SDKs, templates, schedules, health checks, and bulk tools. It is the right starting point for individuals and teams whose core requirement is controlled links, QR production, and reporting without native workflow connections.

Rerout Pro

Pro costs 9.00 USD per month per workspace, billed monthly, and includes everything in Free plus native integrations for every project in that workspace: Slack, Zapier, Make, Stripe, and HubSpot. The annual option is 90.00 USD per year, equivalent to $7.50 per month billed annually. A 7-day trial is offered. The annual rate suits teams willing to commit for the lower monthly equivalent; monthly billing is more flexible for short campaigns.

The practical limitation is not a published reduction in links or analytics on Free, but the paywall around integrations. Teams should also account for the workspace-level billing model when deciding how many projects or collaborators to consolidate.

Platforms

Rerout is available on web, iOS, and Android, with an API for programmatic use. The mobile apps support creating and editing links, generating QR codes, and viewing campaign analytics, so campaign maintenance does not depend on a desktop browser.

Who it's for

Rerout fits music releases, events, marketing campaigns, newsletters, offline QR placements, and partner funnels where destinations may change after distribution. It is especially well matched to teams combining printed assets with measurable digital traffic, and to developers who want project-scoped credentials, webhooks, and SDKs. It is less compelling for a buyer who only needs a basic redirect and has no use for branded domains, QR assets, analytics, or API access.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad free plan: branded editable links, custom domains, QR assets, analytics, API access, and bulk tools are included without a recurring fee.
Flexible campaign control: destinations, activation, and expiry can change after launch, protecting printed and distributed links from becoming obsolete.
Developer-ready foundation: REST API, signed webhooks, project-scoped keys, and ten official SDKs support integration work.
Useful asset formats: SVG, PNG, and PDF QR exports cover common digital and print workflows.

Cons

Integrations require Pro: Slack, automation, Stripe attribution, and HubSpot activity are unavailable on Free.
Workspace billing: Pro is priced per workspace, so cost planning depends on how projects are organized rather than only on individual users.
Limited published plan granularity: the listed plans distinguish integrations clearly, but do not publish additional quota detail for links, clicks, or seats.

Alternatives

For a wider comparison, see the URL shorteners guide. Choose Rebrandly instead if you need desktop and browser-extension coverage alongside Android, iOS, API, and web access, with a free allowance of 10 links and 10 QR codes per month plus one custom domain.

Tiny.cc is an alternative when a $5 monthly Starter plan, two users, one custom domain, and 500 links match your operating model. Replug suits buyers prioritizing a defined free allowance of 100 short links, 10 smart QR codes, one workspace, and 1,000 clicks per month. AWSYS.CO is worth considering for a lower-cost Starter tier and a free cap of 25 links per day with 1,000 tracked clicks per month.

Go2 is the better fit when self-hosting is important, while LinkDevi offers a free allowance of 1,000 short links and 100 links per bulk batch. Bitly is an established alternative with a free plan capped at five links and two QR codes per month. Short.io is another option for teams wanting five custom domains and 50,000 tracked clicks per month on its free plan.

Verdict

Choose Rerout if you want branded, editable links, QR production, analytics, and developer tooling in one service, especially when the free plan covers your core operations. Look elsewhere if native integrations are central but the per-workspace Pro cost or the lack of published quota detail makes planning difficult.
