Overview

Milkymap combines journey maps with a structure for CX metrics and customer data, plus tools to support action planning. Its breadth is more useful to organizations managing CX as an ongoing practice than to people who only need a few standalone diagrams.

Users can tailor maps and 90% of the Galaxy application to their processes, wording, and customer needs. That flexibility can accommodate different CX practices, but real-time multi-member editing is reserved for Business and Enterprise. The free and Pro plans are single-user choices, not collaborative workspaces.

Milkymap describes the tool as hosted in Europe; personal data may be transferred to and processed in the Netherlands. Its privacy policy also says absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Key features

Journey mapping: Users can create, edit, analyze, and customize journey maps, including emotion mapping and persona profiles. Satellite Free allows up to three maps and one user, so it is suited to individual exploration rather than a shared mapping program.
CX Life Cycle Model: This model organizes CX metrics and other customer data across customer segments, products, and brands. It gives teams a way to structure journey work in a broader CX context.
Actionboard and data connections: The CX Actionboard connects data through API connectors and supports management with near real-time data. Stargate can connect to SQL and NoSQL databases for real-time access; supported data-source types also include customer feedback, CRM systems, and analytics tools.
MilkyAi: In Business and Enterprise, MilkyAi can analyze, create, check, and report on data, journeys, and Milkymap content. It is not part of the single-user entry plans.
Support: Training resources, tutorials, customer service, and product demos can help teams get started and develop their use of the platform.

Pricing

Milkymap is freemium, with a free plan, paid plans from €9/user/mo, and a 30-day trial. The plans differ sharply on whether the work is individual or collaborative.

Satellite Free — 0.00 EUR per free: Basic features for one user. The three-map and one-user caps make it a sensible way to explore the mapping approach, but too constrained for a growing portfolio or team.
Satellite Pro — 9.00 EUR per month: Billed €9 per month for a single user, aimed at consultants and contractors. It keeps the work individual, so it is a better fit for solo practitioners than organizations needing shared editing.
Galaxy Business — 39.00 EUR per month: Billed €39 per month per user, for businesses and teams, with a 30-day free trial. It is the entry point for real-time multi-member editing and includes MilkyAi, making it the relevant step up when team analysis matters.
Galaxy Enterprise — custom pricing: A bespoke offering for businesses adopting customer centricity throughout their organization. It is the option to consider for organization-wide use rather than a fixed-cost solo subscription.

Platforms

Milkymap is available on web and iOS, and the service includes the MilkyMap mobile application.

Who it's for

Milkymap is aimed at organizations building customer experience strategies in automotive, healthcare, retail, B2B, telecom, and government. Its data model, integrations, and action tools suit teams that need to connect journeys to measures and operational follow-through. Individuals can use Satellite Free or Pro, but teams that need simultaneous editing should budget for Business or Enterprise.

Pros and cons

Pros: Customization reaches maps and most of the Galaxy application, making it adaptable to varied processes and terminology.
Pros: The CX Life Cycle Model, Actionboard, and database connections bring metrics and data into the journey-management workflow.
Pros: A free single-user plan and a 30-day Business trial provide ways to assess the platform before committing to a team subscription.
Cons: The free tier is capped at three maps and one user, while Pro remains single-user; neither supports real-time multi-member editing.
Cons: Business is billed per user, so collaborative use carries a recurring per-seat cost.
Cons: Absolute security is not guaranteed, a consideration for organizations assessing how customer data should be handled.

Alternatives

Smaply may suit users seeking a free personal workspace with up to 10 maps and 10 personas, though its free plan has no viewer seats.
Custellence is an option for a free workspace with two users, two journey maps, and unlimited viewers.
René Studio is another freemium alternative.
UXPressia may fit users who want a free plan with up to three journey maps, three personas, and three impact maps, plus email sharing with one user and PNG export.
Cemantica is a paid alternative with a 21-day Enterprise trial for up to five users and no credit card required.
Quadient AP is a paid web platform focused on purchase orders, invoices, and expenses.
cxomni is an enterprise alternative starting at 2000.00 EUR per month, with a minimum 36-month contract and up to 10 author users in its smallest package.

Verdict

Milkymap is a strong fit for organizations that want journey maps tied to customer data, CX metrics, and action planning, especially when broad customization matters. Choose Satellite Free or Pro for individual work; choose Business or Enterprise when shared real-time editing or MilkyAi is essential. Solo users looking for collaboration without per-user Business pricing, or teams that only need lightweight diagrams, should compare alternatives.
