Overview

MyStudyLife is an academic planner for students managing changing class schedules, assignments and exam preparation. It is best suited to students who want those routines in one cross-device tool; the five-task free-plan limit is the main reason to consider paying or choosing another planner.

Made by a company founded in 2011 and based in Cavendish Square, London, MyStudyLife also offers a Family Connect option for parents and guardians and a separate solution for schools. Its privacy commitments include no ads or sale of users’ information, the ability to export or delete data, and alignment with GDPR and FERPA.

For a wider range of options, see Study Planner Apps and Daily Planner Apps.

Key features

Schedules and assignments

Rotating, block, A/B and custom timetables make the planner useful for academic schedules that do not fit a fixed weekly pattern. Term dates and holidays add context, while seven task types, reminders, due dates and partial completion help students keep track of work in progress. Automatic repetition supports recurring study routines, though subtasks and repeating tasks are reserved for MSL+.

Exams and study support

Exam countdowns make upcoming tests visible, and grade recording keeps results alongside the schedule. A Pomodoro timer supports timed focus sessions. Scout, the AI coach, can answer questions about a student’s schedule and build weekly or exam revision plans based on classes and deadlines. Unlimited Scout use is a paid feature, so students who rely on it regularly need to account for the subscription.

Calendar, offline use and family access

Calendar connections include Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, iCal feeds, Blackboard and Canvas. That breadth is useful for students who already keep dates in those services, although calendar sync is included with MSL+ rather than the free plan. MyStudyLife works offline and stores data in the cloud, but a device’s data must sync before the device is lost for it to be retrieved elsewhere.

Family Connect lets parents or guardians view upcoming work and exams and help add classes or tasks. It gives families a way to stay involved without changing the product’s focus on student planning.

Pricing

MyStudyLife uses a freemium model with a seven-day trial. The free plan is free and includes the full planner, the first AI timetable scan, and access on web, iPhone and Android. Its limit of five homework and revision tasks at a time is restrictive for students with several active assignments and study goals.

MSL+ costs 6.99 USD per month, billed $6.99/month. It removes the task cap and adds subtasks, repeating tasks, unlimited Scout AI, calendar sync, activities, and additional task and exam types. This is the more practical choice for students whose workload outgrows five active tasks or who want calendar integration and ongoing AI planning. The free plan remains a reasonable fit for lighter use, but it gives up those paid features.

Platforms

MyStudyLife is available on web, iOS and Android, with data stored in the cloud and offline use supported. Syncing before losing or replacing a device matters if the student needs to recover the latest changes on another one.

Who it's for

Students with variable timetables, multiple classes and exams are the clearest fit, particularly those who want assignments, revision planning and calendar connections in one place. Parents or guardians who want to follow upcoming work can use Family Connect. Students who routinely have more than five active tasks should expect to pay for MSL+; those who need only a small task list may be served by the free plan.

Pros and cons

Pros: Supports rotating, block, A/B and custom timetables, accommodating schedules that change across days or terms.
Pros: Combines homework tracking, exam countdowns, grade recording and a focus timer, keeping several study tasks together.
Pros: Connects with major calendar services as well as Blackboard and Canvas, useful for bringing academic dates into a broader calendar.
Pros: Offline access and Family Connect provide practical support for device access and family involvement.
Cons: The free plan’s five-task cap can quickly constrain students balancing assignments and revision.
Cons: Calendar sync, unlimited Scout use and several task features require the $6.99/month MSL+ plan.
Cons: Offline changes need to sync before a device is lost to be recoverable on another device.

StudyHour is another web option, with a free revision plan, confidence tracking and progress over time.
Adapt offers a free plan with limited revision content and practice questions, plus ads, across web and mobile.

Verdict

MyStudyLife is a strong fit for students who need a flexible academic timetable tied to assignments and exam preparation, especially when Family Connect or calendar links matter. Its free plan is useful for a small workload, but the five-task ceiling makes MSL+ the realistic choice for students managing several tasks at once. If that monthly cost is not worthwhile, consider a planner whose free plan better matches your active workload or preferred platform.
