Overview

PeopleHawk combines individual pathway planning with tools for schools, colleges, universities and employers; the company also describes support for career changers. Students can explore education and career options and build work-readiness skills, while institutions can support careers provision across cohorts. Pathway planning, education matching and a counselor dashboard make it relevant beyond one-off career assessments.

The platform runs on web, Android and iOS, and uses a delivery model that includes both individual and institutional provision. Its security program includes Cyber Essentials and IASME Governance accreditation, with ISO 27001 work underway. PeopleHawk says data and backups are stored and processed in UK and Ireland data centres, with encryption at rest and in transit using 256-bit SSL/TLS 1.3. Its privacy policy says personal data is stored in the UK and EEA, while some technical providers outside those regions may receive data subject to safeguards.

Key features

Career planning and readiness

The Future Pathways Report draws on values, interests, personality and skills to recommend subjects, careers and pathways. Its 100-question assessment takes around 20 minutes and produces a personalised 50-page report. That makes it a substantial one-off planning aid for someone looking for direction, rather than a substitute for ongoing exploration or coaching.

Premium brings career and course exploration together with bite-sized skills learning, CV and digital-profile creation, an AI Elevator Pitch, interview practice with AI feedback, live opportunities and an e-portfolio. This package is more useful to students building readiness over time than to someone who only wants an assessment; specialist products are sold separately.

Schools and admissions

School features cover Schemes of Work, Career Readiness Journeys, student insights and reporting, UCAS support, applications and work experience. UK schools can integrate Skills Builder to benchmark and develop Essential Skills through bite-sized learning. These features give providers a broader careers-provision option than an individual student tool, though the school and college Future Pathways option requires cohorts of at least 100 students.

Medical admissions products address distinct needs: HPAT starts with a free readiness test and has paid Bootcamp and Mastery options, while MSAT preparation includes practice zones and mock exams with feedback and explanations. The readiness test estimates a score and percentile and provides personalised feedback; Bootcamp adds targeted practice, while Mastery provides full timed mock exams.

Pricing

PeopleHawk is freemium, but the free entry point is specific rather than a full free version of every product. The HPAT Readiness Test — Ireland and UK is free and provides a 30-minute test with estimated score, percentile and personalised feedback. Premium is priced by region: PeopleHawk Premium — Ireland costs 4.99 EUR per month, and PeopleHawk Premium — UK costs 4.99 GBP per month. Both cover core career, skills and work-readiness tools, but not specialist products.

For schools and colleges, Future Pathways costs 29.99 GBP per once in the UK or 29.99 EUR per once in Ireland, for cohorts of 100 students or more and includes five supporting lessons. Individual Future Pathways Reports cost 99.99 GBP per once in the UK or 99.99 EUR per once in Ireland; each includes the 100-question assessment and personalised 50-page report.

HPAT Bootcamp costs 99.99 GBP per once in the UK or 99.99 EUR per once in Ireland and provides targeted practice with explanations and feedback. HPAT Mastery — Ireland costs 149.99 EUR per once and includes full timed mock exams. Premium is the lower-cost route for ongoing core readiness tools; users who need a report, school cohort package or admissions preparation should budget for the separate purchase. Specialist products are sold separately.

Platforms

PeopleHawk supports Android, iOS and web, covering students who want mobile access as well as institutions using a web platform. This is broader device coverage than web-only options, though no platform-specific feature differences are established.

Who it's for

PeopleHawk is a good fit for students who want to connect self-understanding with course and career exploration, practical skills and work-readiness materials. Schools and colleges that need careers journeys, reporting and UCAS-related support have a more institution-focused reason to consider it. Its separate HPAT and MSAT preparation also gives medical applicants a targeted route. A user who only wants a free career quiz or a single assessment may find a narrower alternative more proportionate.

Pros and cons

Pros: Premium combines exploration, skills learning, CV and profile tools, interview practice and an e-portfolio, supporting several stages of preparation in one package.
Pros: Institution-facing journeys, reporting, UCAS support and work-experience features extend the platform beyond individual career planning.
Pros: The regional Premium prices and one-off report options let users choose ongoing core tools or a focused assessment purchase.
Cons: Specialist products are separate, so Premium alone does not cover every admissions or assessment need.
Cons: The school and college Future Pathways purchase requires cohorts of 100 or more, which may not suit smaller providers.
Cons: Prices vary by region and currency, so users need to choose the relevant market before comparing costs.

Alternatives

Career Guidance Software is a useful category starting point if you want to compare a broader set of products before settling on PeopleHawk.

Choose Pathly if a free student account is the priority: student accounts remain free, while counselor plans are separate. BridgeU is an alternative for schools looking for a free-to-use web platform without annual licence fees, per-student charges or subscription renewals; access is arranged through BridgeU.

CareerExplorer suits someone seeking a free assessment with an option to upgrade to an annually billed membership for tools, resources, guidance and support. MAPP Career Assessment is worth considering for users who want a free account or a one-off Executive Package with a 22+ page report, top ten job areas and 72 worker trait codes.

Orchard may suit someone who wants AI-credit-based guidance, starting with 50 one-time credits free or moving to an annual plan with 500 credits each month. My Next Move is a free web career-exploration tool for users who want a simple no-cost starting point. Start Profile offers free access for young people, with content and opportunities funded by partners. Explore Careers is a free option for students, schools, educators and families, with no payment, trial or account required to start its Career Quiz.

Verdict

PeopleHawk is best for students and education providers who want connected career planning, skills development and practical preparation, with institutional careers features available alongside individual tools. Its broad core offer and regional Premium options are the main reasons to choose it; the need to pay separately for reports and specialist admissions preparation is the main reason to look elsewhere if you need a narrowly defined product at a single price.
