Overview

Ostorlab is an application security platform for mobile engineering and AppSec teams assessing mobile apps alongside the web services and code they depend on. Its strongest case is testing authenticated workflows and tracing potential attack paths across connected assets; the trade-off is that broad coverage and advanced AI actions bring plan limits and credit requirements.

Key features

Connected-asset and authenticated testing

Ostorlab combines static, dynamic, runtime, and behavioral analysis with dependency and source-repository scanning. It assesses mobile apps, web apps, APIs, and connected source code together, which is useful when a risk may cross asset boundaries rather than sit in one app. Agents can handle logins, one-time codes, and multi-factor authentication, so teams can include logged-in workflows in testing. AI-agent findings include a working proof-of-concept exploit that can be replayed, giving engineers a concrete way to examine a reported issue.

Mobile coverage and workflow

Mobile testing covers Android, iOS, and HarmonyOS. Inputs include Android APK, XAPK, and AAB files, non-encrypted iOS IPA files, and store or TestFlight scans. Static binary analysis, dynamic app analysis, and sensitive-data flow analysis are supported. Integrations include GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Bitbucket, Jenkins, CircleCI, Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, and Slack, making it relevant to teams that want scanning connected to development and ticketing workflows.

Routine workspace testing continues when AI Security Credits are exhausted, but advanced AI actions require more credits. That separation helps preserve routine testing, though teams relying on advanced actions need to account for credit consumption.

Pricing

Community is free at no cost and includes unlimited mobile app scans, attack surface discovery, remediation, and ticketing. It is a strong starting point for mobile-only assessment, but it does not establish the wider target and repository coverage of paid plans.

AppSec Web/API costs 299.00 USD per month, billed yearly. It covers up to three Web/API targets, up to three source code repositories, and 20 AI Security Credits per month. That suits teams focused on web services and code, but it does not include the one-mobile-app allowance specified for AppSec Mobile.

AppSec Mobile costs 599.00 USD per month, billed annually. It includes one mobile app, up to three Web/API targets, up to three source code repositories, and 20 AI Security Credits per month. This is the clearest fit for teams needing mobile testing alongside connected services, though the single-app cap may constrain teams with several products.

Agentic Pentest Core costs 499.00 USD per once, billed as a one-time assessment. It includes 50 tokens, high-confidence risk detection, multi-asset assessment, and a retest window. Its one-off structure suits a bounded assessment better than a team seeking ongoing coverage.

Enterprise uses a custom annual agreement with configurable application coverage and annual pooled AI Security Credits. It adds SSO/SAML, role-based access control, audit logs, bring-your-own AI key, data residency in the US, EU, GCC, or APAC, and on-premises deployment as an add-on. Support options range from Standard to 24/5 Priority or a dedicated technical account manager with a 24/7 SLA. These controls and support options suit organizations with deployment or governance requirements, but pricing is custom.

Platforms

Ostorlab supports Android, iOS, web, and API testing. Its mobile coverage also includes HarmonyOS, with Android package formats and non-encrypted iOS IPA files among its scan inputs. The platform is cloud-based; on-premises deployment is an Enterprise add-on. Its Trust Center links to a SOC 2 Type II report.

Who it's for

Ostorlab is best for mobile engineering and AppSec teams that need authenticated app testing and want to assess mobile products together with their APIs, web back ends, and source code. Community suits teams beginning with mobile scans; AppSec Mobile fits teams that need recurring coverage across one mobile app and a limited set of connected targets. Teams testing several mobile apps or requiring extensive coverage should weigh the caps against Enterprise's configurable application coverage.

Pros and cons

Pro: Authenticated testing includes login, one-time-code, and multi-factor workflows, which reaches beyond unauthenticated app checks.
Pro: Cross-asset assessment and replayable proof-of-concept exploits give teams evidence tied to how connected systems may be attacked.
Pro: Community includes unlimited mobile app scans at no cost, making it possible to start mobile assessment without a paid plan.
Con: AppSec Mobile covers one mobile app, while both paid AppSec plans cap Web/API targets and repositories at three each.
Con: AppSec Web/API and AppSec Mobile include 20 AI Security Credits monthly, and advanced AI actions require credits even though routine workspace testing continues after credits run out.
Con: AppSec Web/API and AppSec Mobile are billed yearly or annually, so they are less suited to buyers seeking a month-to-month commitment.

Alternatives

Browse mobile application security testing software to compare the broader category. Quixxi Scan is worth considering for per-scan Android and iOS checks, with one-off SAST and API scans priced at 29.00 USD per once. AppSweep is an alternative for teams wanting unlimited Android and iOS scans, unlimited team members, static and interactive analysis, CI CLI, OWASP MASVS alignment, and PDF findings reports on its free plan. Cellebrite Inseyets is another option to compare.

Reversense Security may suit teams looking for Android instrumentation generation and dynamic deobfuscation through its free Dexcalibur Community Edition. Appknox is another mobile security option to compare. Oversecured may appeal to buyers who prefer a per-scan Hacker plan at 500.00 USD per once, with one seat and API scanning. Indusface WAS is focused on web testing, with an Advance plan at 59.00 USD per month per app. Quokka is another option for iOS and Android app vetting and security testing.

Verdict

Choose Ostorlab if your mobile or AppSec team needs authenticated testing, replayable exploit evidence, and a view of risks spanning apps, APIs, web back ends, and source code. Its free Community plan makes mobile scans accessible, while paid plans add bounded connected-asset coverage and monthly AI credits. Look elsewhere if you need several mobile apps within the AppSec Mobile allowance, a month-to-month paid AppSec plan, or pricing that is not based on custom Enterprise terms.
