Overview

Zoho Voice is a cloud PBX for businesses that need internet-based calling, with contact-center tools for teams handling customer calls. It suits Zoho users especially well, while Deluge also connects it with non-Zoho apps. Its mix of calling, messaging and call analysis is broad, but the trial cannot demonstrate incoming calls and Zoho Voice requires a separate subscription from Zoho One.

Key features

Teams can make and receive local and international calls using local or toll-free numbers. Call forwarding, transfers and direct extension dialing cover common routing needs; the 5 Mbps minimum internet speed is a practical requirement for anyone planning to use it for calls.

Multi-level IVR and call queues help direct incoming traffic. Supervisors can monitor live calls and listen, whisper or barge in, making the contact-center tools more useful for teams that need to support agents during active conversations. These controls are a stronger fit for a staffed operation than for someone who only needs a business number.

Zoho Voice supports WhatsApp and Telegram messaging, as well as two-way SMS for US, Canadian and Australian numbers. Call Intelligence can transcribe recorded calls and summarize intent, sentiment, customer satisfaction and agent scores. The latter could help teams review interactions, though SMS availability depends on the number's country.

Native integrations include Zoho CRM, Desk, Recruit, Bigin and ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus Cloud. Deluge extends connections to other Zoho and non-Zoho apps, which gives teams room to fit calling into broader workflows. Zoho Voice states that it is GDPR compliant and certified for ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 27701, SOC 2 Type II, ISO 9001 and ENS at medium level. Its audit log is still under development and is not directly accessible, though Zoho says logs can be provided upon request.

Deleted or inactive account data is generally retained in the active database for 90 days, then permanently deleted from backups after a further 90 days. The 15-day trial requires no credit card, but its test number and free credits support outbound calls only; incoming calls cannot be tried on that number. This leaves an important part of a phone system untested before purchase.

Pricing

Zoho Voice is freemium, with a free plan and paid pricing from $34/user/mo (annual). The pricing page also offers a 15-day trial without a credit card. Zoho Voice is a separate subscription and does not come with a Zoho One license.

Plan prices for Solo, Basic, Standard, Contact Center, Team, Truly Unlimited Plan and Corporate are custom pricing. Their allocations point to different uses, but readers should confirm the applicable price and call charges before choosing:

Solo: One user or license, for an individual who needs a single seat.
Basic: One user or license, one free landline number per license and 1,000 free outgoing minutes per license each month. The included minutes may suit light outbound calling, but the stated allowance is capped.
Standard: One admin, 10 telephony agents per license and one free landline number per license. This allocation suits a small staffed calling team.
Contact Center: One admin, 10 telephony agents per license and one free landline number per license. Priority support is listed for this plan, which may matter to teams relying on contact-center operations.
Team: 10 users per license and one free landline number per license, for a group that needs a shared team allocation.
Truly Unlimited Plan: Flexible pricing tailored to the organization, available in listed regions. Toll-free inbound call charges may vary, so “unlimited” should not be taken to mean every call is free.
Corporate: Up to 100 users, 5,000 free outgoing minutes per month and call charges; monthly or yearly billing options are shown. It may suit a larger deployment, but calls can still incur charges.

Across plans, the comparison lists 24/5 call, chat and email support. The free-plan caps and included allowances differ by plan, so the most suitable option depends on user count, outbound volume and whether the team needs contact-center functions.

Platforms

Zoho Voice supports Android, iOS, web, browser extension, Linux, macOS and Windows, covering mobile, desktop and browser-based use.

Who it's for

Zoho Voice is a strong candidate for businesses that want a cloud phone system connected to Zoho CRM or other Zoho apps, and for contact-center teams that can use queues, IVR and live agent oversight. Basic's included outgoing minutes may work for a light-calling individual; larger teams should compare seat allocations, call charges and custom pricing. It is less compelling for buyers who must verify inbound call handling during a trial or who expect their Zoho One subscription to include telephony.

Pros and cons

Pros: Calling, routing, contact-center supervision, messaging and call summaries sit within one cloud PBX service.
Pros: Native Zoho integrations and Deluge connections can tie calls to existing business workflows.
Pros: Basic includes 1,000 free outgoing minutes per license each month, and the trial needs no credit card.
Cons: Trial users cannot test incoming calls on the provided test number, limiting evaluation of a core phone-system function.
Cons: Plan prices are custom pricing, making it harder to compare the stated allocations against cost.
Cons: The audit log is not directly accessible, and Zoho Voice requires at least 5 Mbps internet speed for calls.
Cons: Zoho One does not include Zoho Voice, so existing Zoho One customers need a separate subscription.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison of hosted business calling options, browse Business Phone Systems. If voicemail drop is the priority, see Voicemail Drop Software.

Freshsales is worth considering when a free plan for up to three users or its annually billed Growth plan better fits a small startup. Choose Ring.io if its Startup plan's power dialer and voicemail drop are a closer match, bearing in mind its $120.00 USD per month price, two-user minimum and annual commitment. Salesforce Sales Cloud offers a free suite and a $25.00 USD per month Starter Suite billed monthly, so it may fit a buyer comparing those CRM suite plans. CloudTalk AI Voice Agent is an alternative for inbound AI receptionist needs, with 50 minutes included and support for 70+ languages on its AI Receptionist plan.

For video meetings, Dialpad Meetings has a free plan with core meeting features. Agile CRM has a free plan for up to 10 users, with 1,000 contacts and companies. Dialpad Support is a paid alternative with a free trial, while JustCall Sales Dialer starts at $29.00 USD per month billed annually for a business phone system with CRM integrations.

Verdict

Choose Zoho Voice if your business needs calling tied to Zoho workflows or contact-center controls such as queues, IVR and live supervision. Its breadth is the main draw; custom plan pricing and the inability to test incoming calls are the clearest reasons to look elsewhere, especially if inbound reliability is central to your buying decision.
