Overview

Stimy reads both printed and handwritten mathematics through an Android or iOS device camera. It returns worked, step-by-step solutions and can present more than one method, helping a learner compare approaches instead of seeing only a final answer. Photographing a solution already completed adds a second use: the app comments on accuracy, method, and clarity.

The learning loop continues with short lessons about the concepts behind a problem and practice questions matched to what the learner is studying. Instant feedback makes practice more useful than a static answer key. Stimy AI also accepts follow-up questions about a step or a whole problem, which suits learners who need clarification after the initial explanation. The service says it supports more than 40 languages, a practical advantage for multilingual students.

Key features

Camera solving and work checking

Camera entry avoids typing complicated notation on a phone and accommodates handwritten exercises. That convenience is strongest for homework done on paper. Work checking goes beyond marking right or wrong by addressing method and clarity, so it can expose a sound answer reached through a weak process or an unclear presentation.

Explanations, lessons and practice

Step-by-step worked solutions and alternate methods support learners who are trying to understand a procedure. Bite-size concept lessons provide context, while adaptive practice and immediate feedback give users a way to reinforce it. These features make Stimy a better fit for self-study than an app used only to obtain answers.

AI follow-up and language support

Follow-up chat lets users ask about a specific transition instead of restarting the problem. Support for more than 40 languages broadens access, though the quality of any explanation can depend on the photographed expression and the question asked.

Privacy and support

Stimy's privacy policy says it collects camera photos for OCR and expression recognition, email addresses for authentication, and device and usage data. It also says information from users under 13 is handled in a COPPA-compliant way and that security measures address unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Families should review those practices before allowing regular camera use. Support is offered by email for questions, issues, suggestions, or comments. Stimy AI is identified as a BrainByte, Inc. product.

Pricing

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	Free	Free math homework help and self-study; Stimy AI+ features are promoted separately.
Stimy AI+	Custom pricing	Free trial; in-depth explanations, a premium deep-thinking model, multiple solution methods, and unlimited daily solve, check and ask.

The Free plan is the sensible starting point for occasional homework help and independent study, but it does not include the AI+ feature set. AI+ is aimed at frequent learners who need deeper explanations, multiple approaches, and no daily limits on solving, checking, or asking. Its price is custom pricing, so buyers should confirm the trial terms and any renewal conditions before subscribing.

Platforms

Stimy runs on Android and iOS. The mobile-only footprint suits camera-based study on a phone or tablet, but it does not provide a listed desktop or web option for learners who prefer a computer.

Who it's for

Choose Stimy if you are a student or parent looking for photographed homework help that also teaches, checks submitted work, and supplies targeted practice. It is particularly appropriate for handwritten assignments, multilingual learners, and users who benefit from asking follow-up questions. It is less suitable for organizations needing desktop deployment, or for families unwilling to share camera, account, device, and usage data.

Pros and cons

Pros

Printed and handwritten scanning: reduces equation-entry friction on mobile.
Checks the learner's own work: addresses accuracy, method, and clarity rather than only the final result.
Learning tools in one workflow: lessons, tailored practice, instant feedback, and follow-up chat support continued study.
More than 40 languages: makes the app more accessible to multilingual learners.

Cons

AI+ pricing is custom: buyers cannot judge the ongoing cost from the published plan table alone.
Free and premium features are separated: users wanting in-depth explanations, multiple methods, or unlimited daily use need AI+.
Mobile-only platform coverage: there is no listed web or desktop experience.
Camera and usage data collection: privacy-sensitive households may find the required data practices a significant trade-off.

Alternatives

Verdict

Stimy is a strong choice for mobile learners who want one camera-based tool for solving, understanding, checking, and practising mathematics. Choose it for handwritten input and the teaching-oriented workflow; look elsewhere if you need a desktop platform, a clearly published AI subscription price, or tighter limits on camera and usage data collection.
