Overview

QPLIX is an institutional wealth management platform that brings portfolio operations, accounting and client service together. It is best suited to family offices, wealth managers and other organizations overseeing complex assets; its breadth is attractive, but custom pricing and a tailored sales process make it a considered purchase.

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Munich, QPLIX also serves banks, treasury departments, foundations and other institutional investors. The company describes its infrastructure as self-hosted and API-based, with European data centers certified to ISO 27001 and ISAE 3402. QPLIX GmbH says it is registered with Germany’s BaFin as an account information service provider. Buyers comparing categories can also explore Family Office Software and Portfolio Management Software.

Key features

Accounting and portfolio operations

QPLIX combines accounting, analytics, trading and rebalancing. Its rule-based accounting creates entries automatically when transactions arrive and can export them to other accounting systems. Alongside investment accounting, entity and document management, workflow automation and automated imports, this is a strong fit for teams seeking to coordinate recurring portfolio administration. Integrated trading and rebalancing extend the platform from recordkeeping into portfolio management and order execution.

Reporting and client access

Reporting provides near-real-time asset information in multiple currencies and languages. Configurable layouts and automated report creation and distribution can reduce repeated reporting work, particularly for firms serving clients with different requirements. Customizable or predefined portals, smartphone and tablet apps, and client-specific branding give clients direct access without limiting the experience to internal staff.

Integrations, AI and security

The ecosystem includes bank data feeds, market data providers, service partners, networks, integrated formats and ordering partners. Named formats include Salesforce, SAP and Xero, which may help firms connect existing systems. The KBC Bank Private Banking Wealth Management feed, however, is restricted to selected clients and requires approval, so a specific connection should be confirmed before choosing the platform.

QPLIX says its AI automates routine tasks without third parties touching customer data. Its self-hosted, API-based infrastructure and European data centers with ISO 27001 certification, alongside ISAE 3402 certification, will matter to organizations with security and governance requirements. The Excel add-in supports Windows, macOS and major web browsers.

Pricing

QPLIX is paid software with custom pricing. Prospective customers can request a personalized meeting or tailored demo after an initial discussion of their needs; there is no public plan price to compare, so buyers should assess the proposal against their deployment requirements before committing. No free plan, trial term, seat allowance or renewal terms are stated.

Platforms

QPLIX lists Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, web, API and self-hosted environments. QPLIX-Q runs in a browser on any operating system, but currently supports Chrome and Firefox only, and those browsers must be no more than six months old. That makes browser choice and update policy worth checking for managed environments. General support is available at support@qplix.com, and clients seeking advice can contact the client success team.

Who it's for

QPLIX is aimed at family offices, wealth managers, banks, treasury departments, foundations and other institutional investors. It is particularly relevant to teams that need accounting, reporting, client interfaces and trading in a shared platform. Smaller buyers looking for transparent, self-serve pricing may find the custom proposal process less convenient; the platform’s breadth is most persuasive when an organization can make use of several of its operational and client-facing functions.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad operational coverage: Accounting, analytics, trading, rebalancing and client service sit within one platform, which can suit teams trying to coordinate portfolio work.
Automated accounting and reporting: Transaction-triggered entries, configurable reports and automated distribution can reduce repetitive administrative work.
Client-facing options: Portals, mobile apps and client-specific branding support tailored access for investors.
Security and integration breadth: The stated certifications, API-based infrastructure and ecosystem of feeds and formats address common institutional requirements.

Cons

Custom pricing requires a sales conversation: Buyers cannot compare a public software price before requesting a meeting or demo.
Browser support is limited: QPLIX-Q currently supports only recent Chrome and Firefox versions, which may not fit every organization's browser standards.
Some connections have access conditions: The KBC Bank Private Banking Wealth Management feed requires selection and approval.

Alternatives

Ginkgo is worth considering if a web-based family-office product with a free deployment period and a trial matters: deployment takes 4–8 weeks at no cost, followed by a trial at 1000.00 USD per month, with the contract rate thereafter.

Elysys is another paid option, with Android, iOS, macOS, self-hosted, web and Windows platforms. Asseta is a paid alternative for Android, iOS and web.

Hatcher+ FAAST offers a paid web-based option with a free trial and no free plan.

AtlasFive may fit a staffed family office with $500M+ of wealth; it is web-based, and pricing is by deployment scope, typically starting in the six figures annually. Canopy has a Single Family Office plan starting at 15000.00 USD per year per Subscription Unit, with a one-year commitment and additional units at 5000.00 USD per annum. Masttro offers paid software with Android, iOS and web support and a personalized flat annual fee rather than AUM-based pricing.

Verdict

QPLIX is a strong candidate for established family offices, wealth managers and institutional investors that want accounting, portfolio operations, reporting and client access in one system. Its principal reason to choose is that operational breadth; its main reason to look elsewhere is the custom-pricing sales process, compounded by browser and feed-access conditions that may not suit every organization.
