Overview

Positionly is an SEO platform for businesses and agencies that need regular visibility checks across several websites. It suits users who want rankings alongside competitor and site research; its small free tier is best for a trial run, not ongoing work at scale.

Founded in 2012 and based in Warsaw, it checks tracked keywords every 24 hours, with fresh results generally available around noon in the user's time zone. That steady cadence is useful for monitoring search movement, though it is not real-time tracking.

Key features

Rank tracking and competitor comparisons

Positionly tracks rankings on local and global search engines and retains historical ranking data, so users can follow movement rather than rely on a single snapshot. Competitor comparisons include current rankings, ranking history, and overlapping keywords. That context is valuable for teams assessing where rivals appear alongside their own visibility, but a daily update schedule may not satisfy users who need more frequent checks.

Backlinks and audits

The backlink tools are powered by Majestic and support keyword-level searches, competitor backlink analysis, and link-quality review. This adds a useful research layer to rank monitoring, especially for users comparing link profiles. The website auditor checks crawlability and identifies missing keywords, offering practical checks without claiming to replace a wider technical SEO workflow.

Reporting and collaboration

Reports can be customized, branded, automated, exported as CSV or PDF, and run manually or on a recurring schedule. Users can invite clients or colleagues with read or write access to one or more sites. Those options make client reporting more adaptable, although user caps mean growing teams may need a higher tier.

White-label plans can use a custom domain, platform color, company name, and logo, and remove Positionly branding. Google Analytics integration is listed, and add-ons can sync with Google Spreadsheets. Mobile apps are available for iOS and Android; the platform list also includes web and API.

Pricing

Positionly uses a freemium model. The 14-day trial has no obligation and requires no credit card to start. Paid prices below are monthly amounts billed for 12 months, with 20% off.

Plan	Price and limits
Free	0.00 USD per free; 5 keywords and 1 website.
Basic	15.00 USD per month; 100 keywords, 10 websites, 10 competitors, 2,500 backlinks, and 1 user.
Medium	39.00 USD per month; 500 keywords, 20 websites, 20 competitors, 10,000 backlinks, and 5 users.
Standard	79.00 USD per month; 2,000 keywords, 50 websites, 50 competitors, 20,000 backlinks, 10 users, and API access.
Agency	159.00 USD per month; 5,000 keywords, 100 websites, 100 competitors, 50,000 backlinks, 20 users, API access, and white-label options.
Platinum	399.00 USD per month; 12,000 keywords, 500 websites, 500 competitors, 150,000 backlinks, 100 users, API access, and white-label options.

Free is a narrow five-keyword, one-site sampler. Basic raises capacity substantially but remains a one-user plan, making it a better fit for an individual tracking several sites than a team. Medium adds five seats and more than quadruples Basic's keyword allowance; Standard is the first tier with API access and supports up to 10 users. Agency and Platinum are aimed at larger reporting operations that need white-labeling and considerably higher quotas. Custom plans can be configured through the listed phone contacts; email contact is also offered.

Platforms

Positionly is available on web, iOS, and Android, and its platform list includes API. The mobile apps give users a way to access the service beyond the web platform.

Who it's for

Positionly is a sensible fit for consultants, in-house marketers, and agencies that value daily rank checks combined with competitor, backlink, audit, and recurring report workflows. The free plan can establish whether five tracked keywords are enough for a limited use case. It is less suited to larger tracking needs on a tight budget: the least expensive paid tier has a 100-keyword ceiling and only one user, while API and white-label features require higher plans.

Pros and cons

Broad SEO monitoring in one service: ranking history, competitor comparisons, backlink research, and crawlability checks go beyond a basic position list.
Flexible client reporting: scheduled or manual reports can be branded and exported as CSV or PDF, with separate read or write access for invited users.
Useful upper-tier options: Standard adds API access, while Agency and Platinum add white-label controls and larger user and tracking quotas.
Very small free allowance: five keywords and one website are unlikely to cover a continuing campaign.
Seats and features are tiered: Basic has one user, and API access and white-labeling require substantially more expensive plans.
Daily rather than more frequent checks: results arrive around noon in the user's time zone, which may be too slow for users needing more immediate rank changes.

Verdict

Choose Positionly if daily keyword monitoring needs to sit alongside competitor comparisons, backlink research, audits, and client-ready reporting. Its strongest case is the breadth of that workflow, with API and white-label options for larger teams. Look elsewhere if five free keywords are too few, if you need more than daily updates, or if API access or white-labeling must fit a low-cost plan.
