Overview

Presel is a web toolkit for RFP responses, document conversion, and technical diagrams. It suits bid managers, commercial teams, and solution architects who need a structured way to build and review proposals. Its free tier handles document work, but RFP projects and organization seats require a paid plan.

Key features

Bid Manager takes an RFP from intake through requirement extraction and mapping, evidence-backed drafting, quality gates, and controlled Word export. That makes it a stronger fit for teams with repeatable, review-heavy bids than for someone looking only for an AI writing assistant. A reusable content library and approval workflow support consistent answers; shared organization workspaces are available on Pro.

Presel converts Markdown into editable Word and PDF files and can import Word documents back into Markdown. Mermaid and PlantUML diagrams can be created, previewed, and included in documents. These are useful complements for technical proposals, though the Free plan's 50 MB personal drive and single knowledge base constrain ongoing team use.

Users can connect their own Cursor, OpenAI, or Anthropic provider, or work offline. Optional LLM providers process prompts sent through AI features according to the user's configuration. Accounts use verified email and password; organization roles control invites and settings, while workspaces can isolate RFPs, knowledge bases, and Drive files by organization. Presel says it does not sell personal data and retains account and workspace data while an account is active. Enterprise SAML/OIDC SSO is on the roadmap, not available in self-serve plans, which may rule it out for organizations that require SSO now.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes a 50 MB personal drive, one knowledge base, Markdown-to-Word/PDF conversion, Word-to-Markdown import, and a UML editor. It has no RFP projects or organization seats, so it works for exploring document and diagram tools, not running a bid operation.

The Trial costs 0.00 USD per free and provides everything in Pro for 7 days, including an organization workspace and invites, with no credit card required. If you do not upgrade, it returns to Free toolkit limits; treat it as a short evaluation window rather than a continuing team plan.

Plus costs 19.00 USD per month, billed at $19/ seat / mo; annual checkout saves about 20%. It includes 5 GB of drive storage, three knowledge bases, two RFP or proposal projects, one workspace seat, and Word export. The project and seat caps make it a reasonable entry point for a solo proposal owner with occasional bids, but not a shared team workflow.

Pro costs 49.00 USD per month, billed at $49/ seat / mo; annual checkout saves about 20%. It includes 50 GB of storage, unlimited RFPs and knowledge bases, up to five seats included, the AI proposal suite and quality gates, shared organization workspaces, and priority email support. This is the most practical tier for a small bid team that needs collaboration without project caps.

Enterprise costs 99.00 USD per month, billed at $99/ seat / mo, with volume pricing available. It includes unlimited seats, 500 GB of storage, a dedicated success manager, custom SLA and DPA, and admin controls and audit support. SSO/SAML is still on the roadmap and scoped with sales, so teams requiring it today should confirm the fit before committing. The Help page offers self-serve documentation and directs security or legal reviews to sales.

Platforms

Presel runs on the web. It exports responses to DOCX and PDF, with Word export included on Plus and above.

Who it's for

Presel is best for bid teams that need structured RFP intake, reusable evidence, response review, and controlled export in one workspace. Technical teams may also value the diagram editor and document conversion alongside proposal work. It is a weaker choice for buyers seeking only a general-purpose writer, or for larger organizations that cannot proceed without currently available SSO.

Pros and cons

Pros

End-to-end bid workflow: Intake, mapping, evidence-backed drafting, quality gates, and controlled Word export cover more of the response process than drafting alone.
Useful document and diagram tools: Markdown/Word conversion and Mermaid or PlantUML diagrams support technical proposal work beyond RFP responses.
Multiple AI setups: Bring a Cursor, OpenAI, or Anthropic provider, or work offline, giving teams a choice in how they use AI features.
Pro has room for a small team: Up to five included seats, unlimited RFPs and knowledge bases, and shared workspaces remove the tighter Plus caps.

Cons

Free is not an RFP plan: No RFP projects or organization seats means the free tier is for individual toolkit use, not bid collaboration.
Plus is tightly capped: Two projects and one seat limit its usefulness once multiple people need to work on bids.
SSO is not available in self-serve plans: Organizations that require SAML/OIDC today may need another tool.
AI prompts involve provider processing: Optional LLM providers process prompts according to the user's configuration, a consideration for teams handling sensitive bid material.

Alternatives

For a broader shortlist, compare RFP Response Software, AI RFP Response Software, and Bid Management Software.

1up is worth considering if a free plan with 50 knowledge uploads and 50 answers per month, or extension support, better matches your needs. Choose Winify AI for a web-based alternative with a free plan and free trial. RFP Response Builder is an option if macOS or Windows support matters alongside web access. BidGenie offers a free trial with up to three RFPs per month and one team member, making it relevant for a limited initial evaluation. ProposalWorkspace is another extension-and-web option for buyers considering a paid proposal platform. RFP.ai may suit teams looking for web, extension, and API access. Steerlab offers a free first RFP or questionnaire trial without a credit card. Consider DeepRFP as another paid web option.

Verdict

Choose Presel if your bid team wants a structured RFP workflow, reusable knowledge, review gates, and document tools together, with Pro providing the clearest path to small-team collaboration. Look elsewhere if a free tier must include bid projects, if a solo plan needs more than two active projects, or if SSO is a current requirement.
