Overview

Radius Velocity brings fuel-card administration into an online portal, with supporting mobile apps for card controls and vehicle checks. Its strongest fit is a UK business already using Radius fuel cards that wants to keep invoices, spend reporting and basic card management together. The free access is useful, but the Radius account requirement rules it out as a standalone fuel-management tool.

Key features

Weekly HMRC-compliant invoices and access to the previous 12 months of invoices give account holders a practical record for routine reviews and recent lookbacks. Reports break fuel spending down by driver, vehicle type, station or card, with graph, table and map views plus CSV downloads. That gives managers several ways to inspect card activity or work with it elsewhere, though the reporting is centered on fuel spending rather than wider fleet costs.

Users can cancel a lost card and request a replacement from their account. They can also freeze a lost or stolen card online or in the app and report the incident, which gives account holders a direct response when a card goes missing. The main account contact starts with full access; additional employee access can be arranged at the account holder’s request, so teams can share access without making it automatic.

Pairing Velocity with geo-plus vehicle tracking adds MPG information and alerts for potentially suspicious card transactions when the vehicle is absent. Those checks may help fleet managers spot mismatches, but they depend on the separate tracking service. The Velocity Vehicle Check app adds a different workflow: daily smartphone checks, instant defect reports, digital records and MOT, tax and service reminders. It is useful for fleets that need these routines, but is an extension rather than the core fuel-card portal.

Pricing

Radius Velocity is free to UK customers, with the plan priced at 0.00 USD per free. There is no free trial because access is already free, but this is not an open free tier: users need a Radius customer account, and login access is set up when the fuel card account is opened. A business choosing software before becoming a Radius customer should treat that dependency as a material limitation, not as a no-cost way to manage fuel cards from any provider.

The free plan includes fuel-card support, spend controls, fuel price tracking and a mobile app. No seat or usage caps are stated, but access arrangements remain tied to the fuel-card account: the main contact receives initial full access, and the account holder must request additional employee access. There is no separate paid tier described, so organizations needing broader fleet functions should assess whether the tracking integration and vehicle-check app meet their needs rather than assume the portal is a complete fleet platform.

Platforms

Velocity is available on the web, Android and iOS. The mobile apps matter for freezing cards away from a desk and for carrying out daily vehicle checks; web access suits account administration and report review. Support is directed through Radius customer support at 0344 880 2468.

Who it's for

This is a sensible choice for existing Radius fuel-card customers who need weekly invoices, recent invoice history, fuel-spend breakdowns and a way to respond to lost cards. Fleets with geo-plus tracking can also use the MPG and absent-vehicle transaction alerts, while those with recurring inspection duties may value the separate Vehicle Check app. It is a poor fit for businesses that are not Radius customers or want a standalone system for managing cards from multiple providers.

Pros and cons

Pro: Free for UK Radius customers, making core portal access available without a separate software charge.
Pro: Reports can be filtered across four fuel-spend dimensions, viewed in multiple formats and exported to CSV.
Pro: Lost-card freezing, incident reporting, cancellation and replacement requests cover useful account-level responses to card loss.
Con: A Radius customer account is mandatory, so the free plan does not serve businesses shopping for an independent tool.
Con: MPG data and absent-vehicle transaction alerts require geo-plus vehicle tracking, limiting those checks to fleets with that pairing.
Con: Additional employee access has to be set up at the account holder’s request, which adds an administrative step for teams.

Alternatives

For a broader starting point, browse Fuel Management Software.

Consider Eurowag Fuel Management if you want a paid option available on Android, iOS and web; its package limits and pricing require a quote. Track Star Fleet Fuel Management is another paid alternative, with Android, iOS, web and API platforms. Multi Service Fuel Card may suit buyers comparing a paid fuel-card program with a free plan; its account fees can range from $0 to $10 per month, transaction fees from $0 to $2, and money fees from 0% to 3% of the transaction amount.

iFleet Pay is a paid alternative available on Android, iOS, web and API. If fuel monitoring alongside safety, compliance and maintenance tools is the priority, Geotab offers a paid GO Plan with those capabilities and no free plan. AtoB Fleet Fuel Cards may be worth comparing for a prepaid card with no spending limit beyond loaded funds; its AtoB Unlimited plan is 3.00 USD per month, plus a $35 account set-up fee and $3 per active card per month. Coast is another paid option, with cards and expense management at 4.00 USD per active user per month. Corpay One Fuel & Fleet Cards is also a paid alternative for buyers comparing fuel and business expense cards.

Verdict

Choose Radius Velocity if your business already uses Radius fuel cards and needs a no-extra-cost place to review invoices, monitor fuel spend and manage card security. The strongest reason to choose it is the combination of free core administration with useful reporting and mobile controls; the clearest reason to look elsewhere is its dependence on a Radius account, with some fleet insights requiring geo-plus tracking.
