Overview

Rankora combines eight tools: AI keyword research, SERP and rank tracking, backlink intelligence, technical SEO auditing, competitor analysis, AI content optimisation, site crawling and AI visibility tracking. Keeping these jobs together can simplify a consultant's workflow, moving from opportunity discovery to diagnosis and content changes without switching platforms. The scope is notably wider than a basic rank tracker because it also examines backlink quality, technical health and brand appearance in AI answers.

The trade-off is capacity. The free Client plan allows one audit per month and 50 keywords, which is enough for a light review or a founder checking an agency's work, but not for continuous monitoring of a content-heavy site or multiple clients.

Key features

Research, rankings and competitors

AI keyword research: Results include search volume, keyword difficulty, CPC, trend direction, related clusters and suggestions calibrated to a site's ranking authority. That context helps users prioritise realistic opportunities instead of collecting undifferentiated ideas.
Daily SERP tracking: Rankora checks desktop and mobile results every day and flags featured snippets, local packs, image packs and Google AI Overviews. Consultants can therefore see more than a conventional blue-link position, although the number of keywords they can follow depends on the plan.
Competitor analysis: A domain can be benchmarked against up to three named competitors across keyword, content, backlink and share-of-voice gaps. The comparison is useful for focused rival analysis; the three-domain ceiling is restrictive for markets with many direct competitors. Keyword-gap and content-gap analysis are included.

Audits, links and content

Technical SEO Audit: More than 36 checks cover Core Web Vitals, crawlability, broken links, schema, mobile usability and duplicate content, with fixes ranked by projected impact. This prioritisation is more actionable than an unranked issue dump, particularly for small teams deciding what to fix first.
Site crawler: Crawls can handle up to 100,000 pages and render JavaScript for single-page applications. That makes the limit suitable for sizeable sites and modern front ends, while smaller properties may never approach the allowance.
Backlink Intelligence: Reports include backlinks, referring domains, authority score, toxic-link flags, new and lost links, plus competitor backlink gaps. Weekly refreshes provide a recurring view of link changes, though they are not a daily feed.
AI visibility and content optimisation: Visibility tracking records whether a brand appears in AI-generated answers, its citation position and sentiment, and compares results with named competitors. The Content Optimiser scores keyword coverage, readability, structure and AI citability in real time, then recommends edits and internal links. Together they address both presence in emerging AI results and the content work needed to improve it.

Pricing

Plan	Price and terms	Included allowance	Best fit
Client	Free, Free forever	1 audit per month; 50 keywords	Occasional audits, founders and evaluation
Growth	29.00 USD per month, billed monthly	5,000 keywords; up to 3 competitors benchmarked at once	Individual consultants and small agency engagements
Scale	149.00 USD per month, billed monthly	50 seats	Larger teams that need broad internal access

A free trial is available, alongside the permanent free tier. Client's 50-keyword and one-audit limits make it a proving ground rather than a dependable monitoring plan. Growth is the practical entry point for active client work, supplying a substantially larger keyword allowance and the full three-competitor comparison. Scale is aimed at organisations where 50 seats matter; the published plan information does not add a larger keyword quota, so teams should confirm that capacity before moving up. Paid plans renew monthly.

Platforms

Rankora runs on the web. There is no separate desktop or mobile platform identified, so access depends on a browser-based workflow.

Who it's for

Agencies and freelance SEO consultants are the clearest match: they can combine keyword discovery, daily rankings, technical fixes, backlink review, competitor gaps and content recommendations in one service. Startup founders can use the same reporting to verify agency progress without adopting several specialist tools. It is less suitable for anyone who only needs a narrow function, such as link monitoring, or who requires a substantial free quota for ongoing tracking.

Pros and cons

Pro: Eight connected tools cover research, diagnostics, content and AI visibility in one web platform.
Pro: Daily desktop and mobile SERP checks include Google AI Overview and other result features.
Pro: The crawler supports 100,000 pages and JavaScript rendering, useful for large or single-page sites.
Con: The free plan's 50 keywords and one monthly audit are too limited for sustained work.
Con: Competitor benchmarking is capped at three named domains.
Con: Backlink data refreshes weekly, so fast-moving link changes may not appear immediately.

Alternatives

Choose Built For SEO instead if a free, one-project setup centred on Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4 and Google Business Profile is enough.

ContentSERP is the better alternative for API and web access with a free tier offering 10 credits, basic SERP analysis and snippet previews.

Pick MarketMuse when content planning is the priority: its free plan provides one user and 10 queries per month, while paid access adds tracked topics.

Wranker suits users wanting a free-forever project with 500 keywords, daily audits and rank tracking, plus eight content briefs per month.

Choose FlexQueries for usage-based API or web access without a subscription or monthly fee.

Ahrefs is a stronger fit when limited free Site Explorer and Site Audit access is the starting requirement.

Pick Semrush when an API-based SEO platform with a free demo project and 10 reports per day better matches your workflow.

Linkody is the focused choice for backlink monitoring, with plans built around websites, monitored links and users.

Verdict

Rankora is a sensible choice for agencies and independent consultants who want one platform spanning keyword work, technical audits, links, content and AI-search visibility. Growth is the likely starting point for real client monitoring; the free Client tier is best reserved for occasional audits or validating an agency's reports. Look elsewhere if you need extensive free usage, more than three competitor domains, or backlink data refreshed more frequently than weekly.
